Mailchimp is used by many which means that spam filters are more likely to tag your emails as spam. I did not have any other problems with Mailchimp.

Great email marketing tool for small businesses.

Great to stay with the subscribers and customers in an efficient way. Great email marketing strategy which when intergrating with social media helps to cover a wide range of opportunities for the business. Great email reminders which ensures the user is able to track the activities or task to perform. Great for advertising new events thus very effective and convinient.

Pros

Small businesses with need of email marketing should choose the mailchimp since its effective and simple to use. Ability to intergrate with social media helps in marketing the company through social media campaigns. Helped to know which email was delivered successfully and which bounce thus being able to act on it immediately. There is a free template which the user can test the capabilities of the software before making the purchase. It simply amazing with great features.

Cons

There is a limit to the number of emails but 2000 emails is lot which makes it difficult to surpass it.It can be flagged by email scams.

Probably one of the best investments you can make when it comes to improving your email campaigns.

Pros

We use it for a variety of marketing campaigns on a regular basis. It's quite simple to use but offer a lot. We can track our campaigns, get detailed insights about the behavior of the recipients and then act accordingly. Lists can be segmented into smaller groups which we can then target as we wish. It is very affordable but if you are on a budget the free version offers a lot of options.

Cons

There is nothing bad I can say about this product. It saves us a ton of time and gives us great insights from which we learn and improve our campaigns.

Act On Just No Longer Met Our Needs

We were using act on for a while but we really no longer needed to use it when we made the switch to Hubspot. Also using Mailchimp was much easier to use than Acton.

A 2nd tier product in the race of Marketing Automation

In my experience with using Pardot, Marketo, Hubspot, and Act-On (email marketing only solutions such as MailChimp and Constant Contact as well...), Act-On is still playing catch-up with the bigger, more enterprise companies in terms of technical capabilities. Its support system is great, however.

Support team, the fact that Act-On is growing quickly

Cons

Inability to sort information on the platform itself, rigid reporting and display of data, certain key functions that should be given to everyone are add-ons, has no predictive, real-time adjustment, automated insights, multi-channel marketing funnel value analysis, etc. yet.

Burning your money on a fireplace will feel better

Their very "robust" product is a legacy system probably older than DOS. Everything is clunky, various steps to accomplish simple tasks, landing pages that are nearly impossible to customize, integrations to 3rd parties are limited to a few. I accomplished the same results with Unbounce.com, MailChimp, Zappier and any CRM even a spreadsheet will be more useful than the crap they have - all for less. If you really want something good try Hubspot but merely $$$ more you get a real working solution. Trying to get out of the contract since we could not make use of their useless system, got is into collection and we had to pay the entire contract.

Pros

Customer service picks up on the first ring... but then the problems and bugs are labeled "features". How can the inability to customize the look and feel of a form be considered a feature?

All of it Lengthy contracts impossible to get rid of Cannot customize forms Cannot edit automation flows easily CRM is as old as DOS Cannot integrate with the rest of the world Expensive Not worth a penny

Over-promising and under-delivering are key traits of Act-On

Overall I would give Act-On a low pass. The issues with customer service, slightly overpriced and the lack of proper development plagued my experience. If I could go back, I would have used HubSpot or Marketo. At the moment, we have cancelled our Act-On account after 3-4 years and are using a stack of SaaS solutions tied into our practice management system. This is far more cost efficient, easy to...

Pros

The system was pretty easy to use. The set-up process for lead nurturing, forms, creating newsletters and other tools were pretty useful.

Cons

Customer service, account limits, aesthetics were below average. The customer service was woeful, the original salesperson who on-boarded me and two referral partners promised the world features wise. Lots of nice looking mocks and promises were made yet nothing provided. On the customer service side of things, on two occasions when the unique contacts and email limit was exceeded the entire system shuts-down. All nurturing campaigns cease and there is no ability to send any emails at all. It took two weeks for someone to be able to apply a temporary increase to allow our marketing efforts to continue.
