Benefits

- Lists: MailChimp helps users customize signup forms to match your brand, so you can share it on your website and integrate it into your social media pages. You can also collect signups from a variety of mobile devices or import an existing list. Users can also take advantage of existing integrations to help keep their data up to date between platforms.

- Templates: MailChimp offers a variety of pre‑designed, responsive templates. Users can also start‑from‑scratch and use the template builder for more customization. If you’re an HTML expert, you can code your own with our flexible template language.

- Campaigns: Email Segmentation is easy with MailChimp. Send a campaign to your entire list, or target people based on available list data such as geolocation or their open/click history. RSS‑to‑Email and Automated Workflows allow you to create automated campaigns that will start sending based on triggers set by the user.

- Reports: MailChimp’s reporting features help a user understand who’s opening, clicking, and coming back for more. The reports are mobile friendly and can be exported to share with coworkers or clients. Tweet Trends gives you insight into your subscribers’ activity on Twitter, and our Google Analytics integration gives you advanced stats on how your campaigns affect traffic to your website. If you sell online, our reports can help users understand how their email marketing is directly affecting sales on their website.

Feature Rich and Easy to Use

Stacy Chapman, Product Manager at ThunderTix
We have been using MailChimp for 6 years. We were able to start our account under the free plan as we built our email list out along with our own company's growth. MailChimp allowed us to have a professional appearance from the start enabling us to grow into the paid plans. Our monthly rates have been increased over time, but we feel that that costs were in line with the value provided based on the size of our lists. It's a great product with excellent stats and click tracking all at an excellent value.

Pros: Since MailChimp is so widely used, many products we work with offer integration with the MailChimp API. Super handy and convenient to not have to do repeated exports and imports from various programs into MailChimp. In addition to using MailChimp ourselves, we've extended our own software product to offer integration with MailChimp from within our own application. Integration with MailChimp is fast and easy with a single API key to copy/paste. Excellent graphs to show and represent data. I love that graphs are clickable to drill down into the data provided for even more narrowed analytics.

Cons: Can't think of a single one!

I would highly recommend MailChimp over other email lists. The interface is new and clean and the email templates are attractive and easy to customize for your needs.

MailChimp great for business update to client mails

Verified Reviewer  12th of September

Mark Kidd, --
We have been using MailChimp for over 2 years now. It is hard to imagine not having this platform to send out our bulk emails to our clients. We run monthly Webinars, Live Sessions and updates to subscribers of our products. Pre MailChimp we used to do mail merges and this was fine until the client base grew beyond 1000 users. Now we run around 6 campaigns a month to lists specific to our clients and the services they use. Honestly the templates are great, the ability to customize and then save as a personal template is fantastic for some of our white labelled products as this enables us to make small changes and send it out to another entirely different client section.

Pros: Crazy easy to use. Reports are update live and very detailed. Ability for them to track returned mails and not clog our inbox. Lists are very easy to maintain. Templates truly are incredible and ridiculously easy to manipulate with the in browser editor. The mobile app for tracking campaigns is great as you always have the information when its needed.

Cons: I cannot think of any real cons if you use it correctly for your own client base and do not try spam mass groups of pre purchased ail lists.

Easy to setup and monitor

Verified Reviewer  3rd of August

Suzanne Douglas, Senior Advisor at Independent Consultants
What's not to like? If you are just needing to test drive their service, you can add a contact list of up to 2,000 and send them all 6 emails per month totally free. It's easy to setup and get going.

Pros: For small businesses or consultants getting started, you might actually be able to stick with the free plan. It mainly depends on the size of your contact list and possibly features you are looking for. For example, if you want to configure some automation features, you will at least need their "growing business" package.

Cons: If you have a really large customer list or email list then prices will start to climb pretty quickly. Their prices are fairly competitive so it's not too expensive. Just take the time to create really nice email templates to get the most from your campaigns.

In fairness, MailChimp is the only standalone email marketing service I have used. I had heard the name a lot and seen it in the footer of some marketing emails I have received. I liked the look of the emails so I tried it out.

It's a market leader for a lot of reasons, but not perfect

Verified Reviewer  30th of June

Content Producer, YouTube Channel Manager (Internet company, 11-50 employees)
I've opened several MailChimp accounts for a variety of different projects and I never doubt to keep using them. It's simple, easy to create forms, quick to create new lists and fast to design a mailer.

Pros: The automations are great. You can quickly build drip campaigns which are triggered by a variety of different conditionals. The form builder is also dead simple to use. The mobile app is quite helpful for keeping tabs on campaigns you send.

Cons: The segmentation features are quite limited and to do anything really useful you'll have to do it manually (export CSV, update lists, etc... annoying). Subscriber groups within a list are editable (eraseable) when building a form, totally not logical! It's not cheap, but they do have a free plan which is great. They keep trying to upsell you on new products which, to me, should be regular functionality. Really, you have to charge me more for a better segmentation tool? Seems like it should just be included from the start.

Nice and Powerful Tool to improve b2b lead generation

Verified Reviewer  28th of June

Francesco Del Buono, Supportando la media azienda italiana a raggiungere i propri obiettivi di budget nell'era digitale
I've been using Mailchimp sincce a couple of months. I've subsribed for the free plan to become fully aware of the benefits of this tool. I like it much because it helps me in b2b lead generation: I run massive email campaigns and then monitor the open rate chart to follow the engagement via telephone.

Pros: Easy to use, effective

Cons: It does not fit when you have to send transational emails. You can solve this point adopting the free version of hubspot.

Do you need to send better emails? Then Mailchimp is for you. If you need something else, e.g. marketing automation, maybe you need something else. But it is a good starting point when you need to become aware of your needs.

Best Email Marketing Platform

Verified Reviewer  14th of June

Paul Kos, Marketing Professional
Mailchimp hands down is the best email marketing platform you can get. Email should be simple and you shouldn't have to kill yourself trying to learn how to code an email. Mailchimp allows you to design, create, and send in a simple process. They just get it right.

Pros: Easy to use. Great design. The interface crushes anyone else out there.

Cons: I can't think of any cons.

Best on the email marketing street

Verified Reviewer  3rd of June

Max Streltcov, Advertisement Manager (Pokeroff)
Tried different email services, but mailchimp offer almost ideal offer. Mailchimp have a good price (not the best, but it's normal for their service). You can find almost everything you need for email marketing, even good email constructor, email check and shipping segmentation.

Pros: Good price for the service Almost everything you need for email marketing

Cons: List segmentations isn't best. You can't create a segment from customers in 1 list, but excluded in other list. So everytime you need to merge list and add part of the people as removed from this list. After is you will pay twice for people that included in 2 lists.
