Benefits

- Lists: MailChimp helps users customize signup forms to match your brand, so you can share it on your website and integrate it into your social media pages. You can also collect signups from a variety of mobile devices or import an existing list. Users can also take advantage of existing integrations to help keep their data up to date between platforms.

- Templates: MailChimp offers a variety of pre‑designed, responsive templates. Users can also start‑from‑scratch and use the template builder for more customization. If you’re an HTML expert, you can code your own with our flexible template language.

- Campaigns: Email Segmentation is easy with MailChimp. Send a campaign to your entire list, or target people based on available list data such as geolocation or their open/click history. RSS‑to‑Email and Automated Workflows allow you to create automated campaigns that will start sending based on triggers set by the user.

- Reports: MailChimp’s reporting features help a user understand who’s opening, clicking, and coming back for more. The reports are mobile friendly and can be exported to share with coworkers or clients. Tweet Trends gives you insight into your subscribers’ activity on Twitter, and our Google Analytics integration gives you advanced stats on how your campaigns affect traffic to your website. If you sell online, our reports can help users understand how their email marketing is directly affecting sales on their website.

It's a market leader for a lot of reasons, but not perfect

Verified Reviewer  30th of June

Content Producer, YouTube Channel Manager (Internet company, 11-50 employees)
I've opened several MailChimp accounts for a variety of different projects and I never doubt to keep using them. It's simple, easy to create forms, quick to create new lists and fast to design a mailer.

Pros: The automations are great. You can quickly build drip campaigns which are triggered by a variety of different conditionals. The form builder is also dead simple to use. The mobile app is quite helpful for keeping tabs on campaigns you send.

Cons: The segmentation features are quite limited and to do anything really useful you'll have to do it manually (export CSV, update lists, etc... annoying). Subscriber groups within a list are editable (eraseable) when building a form, totally not logical! It's not cheap, but they do have a free plan which is great. They keep trying to upsell you on new products which, to me, should be regular functionality. Really, you have to charge me more for a better segmentation tool? Seems like it should just be included from the start.

Nice and Powerful Tool to improve b2b lead generation

Verified Reviewer  28th of June

Francesco Del Buono, Supportando la media azienda italiana a raggiungere i propri obiettivi di budget nell'era digitale
I've been using Mailchimp sincce a couple of months. I've subsribed for the free plan to become fully aware of the benefits of this tool. I like it much because it helps me in b2b lead generation: I run massive email campaigns and then monitor the open rate chart to follow the engagement via telephone.

Pros: Easy to use, effective

Cons: It does not fit when you have to send transational emails. You can solve this point adopting the free version of hubspot.

Best Email Marketing Platform

Verified Reviewer  14th of June

Paul Kos, Marketing Professional
Mailchimp hands down is the best email marketing platform you can get. Email should be simple and you shouldn't have to kill yourself trying to learn how to code an email. Mailchimp allows you to design, create, and send in a simple process. They just get it right.

Pros: Easy to use. Great design. The interface crushes anyone else out there.

Cons: I can't think of any cons.

Best on the email marketing street

Verified Reviewer  3rd of June

Max Streltcov, Advertisement Manager (Pokeroff)
Tried different email services, but mailchimp offer almost ideal offer. Mailchimp have a good price (not the best, but it's normal for their service). You can find almost everything you need for email marketing, even good email constructor, email check and shipping segmentation.

Pros: Good price for the service Almost everything you need for email marketing

Cons: List segmentations isn't best. You can't create a segment from customers in 1 list, but excluded in other list. So everytime you need to merge list and add part of the people as removed from this list. After is you will pay twice for people that included in 2 lists.

Even non-spams don't work

Verified Reviewer  30th of May

Founder (Entertainment company, 11-50 employees)
Firstly, it's not very compatible if you are planning to send a fancy edm. what you'll end up doing making your own design and importing the large image.

Pros: you can categorise your people into groups

Cons: you may run out of free test tries and when you launch a campaign, you might be considered as spam, even if you don't intend to be.

Overall a good product

Great customer report from MailChimp. It's easy to use and a nice alternative to having to learn HTML for emails. Cost-effective and pretty good product for the price.

Pros: Cost-effective, easy to use

Cons: Limited in some of the design aspects, emails often render weird in Outlook - this is a none issue and one that I've tried to contact Support about numerous times.

You can't say many bad things about Mailchimp, it's not for everyone - but it will suit most small/medium businesses perfectly. Their email builder tool is probably the best around!

Pros: Cost-effective, simple to use

Cons: Limited flexibility/customisation

Good, not great

Verified Reviewer  20th of May

Mackenzie Horn, Mackenzie Horn specializes in Motorsport technology, distribution and E-commerce
We have used MailChimp for years. Overall it is a great product although we do find it to be somewhat limiting compared to Constant Contact for novice graphic design users. Often we use raw HTML to create MailChimp messages. A more powerful WYSIWYG would be nice.

Pros: Reliable and trusted platform for mass communication.

Cons: To get the best looking messages possible requires intermediate to advanced skills. Not ideal for the novice in my opinion.

Pretty Effective

Molly Nicholson, Marketing Consultant | Social Media Monitoring & Strategy | SEO | Data & Analytics
I don't pay attention to the Subscribers with most opens since its simply their email client that is reporting the "opens" so the data is never accurate.

Pros: You can see the open rate and clicks from the mobile app and the templates are pretty easy to use.

Cons: I can never get the mail merge tags to work! Why do they let you send a test of the email if these features don't work? Isn't that the whole point of testing it?
