Benefits

- Lists: MailChimp helps users customize signup forms to match your brand, so you can share it on your website and integrate it into your social media pages. You can also collect signups from a variety of mobile devices or import an existing list. Users can also take advantage of existing integrations to help keep their data up to date between platforms.

- Templates: MailChimp offers a variety of pre‑designed, responsive templates. Users can also start‑from‑scratch and use the template builder for more customization. If you’re an HTML expert, you can code your own with our flexible template language.

- Campaigns: Email Segmentation is easy with MailChimp. Send a campaign to your entire list, or target people based on available list data such as geolocation or their open/click history. RSS‑to‑Email and Automated Workflows allow you to create automated campaigns that will start sending based on triggers set by the user.

- Reports: MailChimp’s reporting features help a user understand who’s opening, clicking, and coming back for more. The reports are mobile friendly and can be exported to share with coworkers or clients. Tweet Trends gives you insight into your subscribers’ activity on Twitter, and our Google Analytics integration gives you advanced stats on how your campaigns affect traffic to your website. If you sell online, our reports can help users understand how their email marketing is directly affecting sales on their website.

This piece of software may not be the most intuitive on the market but it definitely has its pros. It allows you you to send quite a large number of emails completely for free, so keep'em sending

Pros: Cheap yet functional almost all functionalities in the free version

Cons: automation may not be very straight forward the reporting could be a bit more in depth

One of the best available, integration with many other Apps. Great customer service as well, fast and efficient. Only concern is price, not the cheapest, but its worth.

Pros: - integration with other apps

Easy drag and drop interface, excellent contact management capabilities. You can make your mailings as simple or complex as you like, by using a stock template or building custom templates to match your branding.

Pros: Easy drag and drop interface Cheeky sense of humor throughout the app ;) Simple but robust email list maintenance Non profit discount available

Cons: Navigation is a bit odd and takes some getting used to (could be because we used a different app for several years before moving to MailChimp)

The App for Email Marketing

Verified Reviewer  21st of December, 2015 12:06

María Fernández Sedeño, Marketing Manager at DEXMA | Changing how the world understands energy management
If you're thinking about tools to start with your email marketing, I would totally recommend Mailchimp. And I've tried a few more (5-6 different ones). Mailchimp is super easy to set up. Then you have several templates to use (good looking) and lists management is really simple. It is specially great because it saves you many time and money handling unsubscribes. It also offers you a great way to integrate basic functionalities like "forward to a friend" or "share in social media". Every time any one asks me about how to start with email marketing, I recommend Mailchimp!

Pros: - auto management for unsubscribes - integration with google analytics - responsive templates - email automation - super easy to use - the free account is great to start

Cons: - free templates are not updated often (some of them look a bit old-fashioned by now) - email support is not always perfect or comprehensive with the client's situation. For example, I handle an account for a client that offered a service in finance. One day we launched an email talking about a hot topic of the market, and our account was shut down. When they explained why, they mentioned that we the service we were offering was against their terms and conditions. The truth is that they probably scanned the content of that email and something flagged us, but we have been using the accounts for several months before, and the nature of our products and services was not included in their forbbiden ones :( They never gave our account back to us.

Great UI, SUPER-SIMPLE to use.

We've been using Mailchimp for 2 years. We love the interface, the ability to import subscribers from our own excel sheets/csv and advanced automation functionality. Pretty much every feature that we needed is there.

Pros: - Custom imports from excel - Great UI - really like messing around the application - The "Highfive" or "Rock on" symbols whenever I send out a campaign

Cons: It's not a big issue, however if compared to comparison, Mailchimp is a little bit overpriced. However, it's a premium product so it's a good deal.

Jennifer R Glass, Electronic payments expert & strong marketing professional and your go-to person for all your payment needs
If you're looking for a way to be able to send mass mailings to your customer base/list, MailChimp has a few great options for you. Depending on what exactly it is that you are looking to do - whether you have a list of under 2,000 names and send fewer than 12,000 emails per month or need heavy-duty marketing automation services, MailChimp probably has a solution for you. And they're integrated into many CRM systems already too like Infusionsoft and a few other major players in the industry.

Pros: Free account for lists with fewer than 2K names

Cons: no automation on free account
