We are sending a lot of emails to our clients and partners through mailchimp. You can trace in details who opened and who read the email, so you can benchmark yourself.
We are using mailchimp for our email camapaings to introduce our clients and partners with new products or actions.
The application is simple for use and always improved with better features. We are using it since 2013 and I can say only positive things.

Overall, our experience has been fine. There are things that I wish we could change, and you're always going to be limited by an ESP like Mailchimp, but unless you're going to go full custom and use a proprietary platform, this is a solid option.
Mailchimp sends emails very well. To be honest, Mailchimp is on par with all many other ESPs (Benchmark, Constant Contact, etc.). Mailchimp allows even the most novice email marketers to create visually appealing emails, send to customized mail lists, and look at basic metrics. It's a solid choice.
My least favorite part of Mailchimp is the search function. If you don't have the correct audience selected and virtually the exact name of the email that you're looking for, nothing will show up in the search results. Also, Mailchimp likes to change their UI on their site and not alert their customer base. I definitely do NOT like that.

1. It is easy to use email marketing software for small businesses 2. Ability to easily integrate with Salesforce. 3. I can import Mailchimp mail list into Facebook Audiences seamlessly.
1. The templates compared to other Softwares like Active Hosted, SendinBlue, and Benchmark is a too simple. 2. The subscription is very costly if you have a huge customer list.

Ease of use, affordable.
Creating beautiful emails is easy, and the reporting is really excellent. It's very simple to benchmark and track engagement. MailChimp messages go through easily and don't get flagged and rejected as spam by most of our constituents.
Like many membership organizations, our lists change all the time. It isn't practical to house our master list in MailChimp and segment in that platform. This created the issue of having multiple, largely duplicate lists in the system simultaneously and having to pay more to accommodate this. I also dislike having to create the distribution list before creating the message. I want to be able to spend as much time on the message as I need, then create the most up-to-date list when I'm done.

I’ve been using MailChimp for a year, along with other email marketing software’s, and MailChimp is one of the best email marketing softwares in the market. I am not a fan of the customer support system, I’ve had to contact the customer support twice, each on different accounts. On first was on a paid account and the customer support rep was very helpful, the second was on a free account and I’m still...
Mailchimp is easy, it is also the go-to email marketing software for small businesses and bloggers. It is easy to use, the signup form allows more customization options than most email marketing softwareS. The free plan allows 2000 subscribers.
The templates compared to other Softwares like SendinBlue, Active Hosted, Mailpoet, and Benchmark is a bit basic. The free plan while great has so many restrictions, the areas I'm concerned about are support and automation which the free plan doesn't deliver when compared to SendinBlue

Overall I am satisfied with MailChimp but there are a lot of areas where they can work on. Good for beginners and part-time marketers. They have a very good benchmark to reach your customer inbox. Most of the time it prevents from spam striking.
1. Intuitive User Interface 2. Large community uses MailChimp 3. You never reach spam to your customers 4. Target based email marketing 5. Email tracking with a lot of other options 6. Attractive Footer logos and images
1. Pricing plans can be more adjustable for the wallet 2. Watermarks 3. You have to rely on third-party vendors for plugins and connectors with other applications like Excel.

Email campaigns, email automation
Easy to use interface makes scheduling campaigns easy, and designing templates is easy too. The reporting is very useful. Also, easy to create automations like Abandoned Cart Emails.
If you want to really customize the templates, and even know HTML/CSS, it is difficult to use their visual editing interface to do so. Also, their customer service is almost non-existent. They don't have chat and their email support has not proven to be very helpful to me. The integration with Shopify is buggy and product prices are not updated properly, for when you want to include product suggestions in the emails.

Email list management, email composition with access to professional & polished email templates.
With MailChimp you can be up and running in very little time. Using the free account you do not have to jump thru any hoops or commit to anything while being able to test out the platform and having access to some automation options.
While the automation options are nice they are limited. The lack of a workflow screen is also an issue. You can quickly scale right out of the platform if you need any complicated automation.

Email Marketing reports and beautiful email campaigns
Being able to integrate Hubspot with it. I have all my contacts synced by the time I want to send a new email campaign. Also it gives you reports about, clicks, open rate, how many people unsubscribed all from one campaign.
So far I have liked every feature that Mailchimp has to offer, no complains. I would definitely recommend this if you are starting out, because it is easy to use.

Email lists, email marketing, lead generation form.
You can build your email list and view who has unsubscribed. You can send emails that look like they are directly from your email. On your website, you can create a lead collecting form using a great copy and paste code!
There's a learning curve with this software just like most but this one is a little more difficult to understand the templates or to create your own. I have spent a lot of time trying to create emails that look exactly how I want them and it takes a great deal of time.

Free email marketing sequences and easy email integrations.
They have a free version that is pretty good, their user base is gigantic, and they have the most integrations that I know of (particularly their integration with Facebook for creating custom audiences).
I'm not sure if the emails always work that great but their isn't much bad about Mailchimp. I did have a hard time learning how to use it. It isn't totally clear how to just send a simple email or create an email sequence.

It allows our marketing team to easily communicate with our employees, sales rep, distributors and customers. It helps us to maintain a clear, consistent feeling in our communications with it's template feature.
I like the ease with which you can put an email assign a template you create using html. Your content can be easily uploaded into the content library and added into the email. The templates make it easy to maintain consistency in your emails while communicating to your email contacts.
I wish the software allowed you to send an email to multiple email lists at once. Currently, you select a single email list for each email and if you have multiple email groups for a single email, you have to send multiple emails.

Email marketing and email lists are easily handled and controled.
It saves you a lot of time and organizes your lists, emails, etc. It is extremely useful especially if you do not have someone to spare just for email marketing.
Even though there are a lot of options to train yourself on how to use, I would prefer a simpler interface not having to spend so much time learning features.

We used Mailchimp for email newsletters and email drip campaigns.
Mailchimp is the gold standard for email marketing platforms, but it becomes very expensive as your list grows in size. For a small business with a small list, it's great.
As our list grew into the millions, Mailchimp became prohibitively expensive.

Email marketing for multiple websites. Managing automatons for email funnels.
I have been mailchimp for few months now and the options they have i.e. automated emails, sign up forms, landing pages, etc. is brilliant.
I wish and hope their support team gets improved. It can be a bit unresponsive during a chat or so.

MailChimp has significantly simplified our email marketing and mass email process!
Simply put, MailChimp allows you to easily make a stunning email and then makes it super easy to distribute it to many people. What used to be a manual task can be simplified. Your target users can be customized to allow for more targeted offers. Additionally there is some pretty great analytics, so you know whats working and not. Oh and there is a free version also!
Once you grow out of the free version, it can get a little pricey, so it might not work well for people who aren't sending sales emails. There is also a bit of a learning curve with it. Spend some time with it, at first it might not seem more efficient, but as you get used to it, it will become more powerful.

More than just a email newsletter solution ... a true email marketing solution.
A decent free tier plan and what's possibly the best integrated solution with other apps made them extremely popular. On top of it, it features a nice interface, easy to use and learn (plenty of information out there to help one master it). Templates are nice looking and it's overall fun to use.
I wish you could get more of the advanced features from the get go on the free tier plan :) Sometimes the emails don't get read to inbox as they are marked as promotion. Well, an universal problem now since GMAIL introduced the separate inboxes...

In the past I used Mailchimp but nowdays as a Free autoresponder I use Benchmark. The main difference is that in Benchmark you can use 1 form for 2 different signups which you can't in Mailchimp and you get a full autoresponder as a free account with Benchmark. In Mailchimp you need to send emails manualy. The pricing also favours Benchmark.
Currently, the only con I can think of would be the user interface design which could be improved.

Benchmark simply didn't meet our needs. Switching to Mailchimp was simple and one of the best decisions we could have made at the time.
The overall functionality of the system was adequate and did what we needed it to do at the time (2011-2012). System was fairly intuitive
Bounce rates would change drastically for no apparent reason. Customer support was of no assistance at the time and was located offshore, so they were hard to reach during our normal business hours. We rarely dealt with the same rep, which was time consuming as we had to explain our situation on multiple occasions.

Benchmark helped us keep all of our data organized and made it easy to connect with our supporters.
Benchmark was a great launching pad for my organization's email campaigns. Eventually we switched to Mailchimp because it allowed us more options for special offers and was easier to integrate with other systems. However, Benchmark got the job done initially and was easy to then export our contacts when moving to a new system.
Benchmark does not offer as much as mailchimp for tracking, growth, and integration. It is a more basic email campaign management software, but does the basics very well.
Thanks for the review! I know our integration options aren't as extensive as some of our competitors but we are working fast to expand these. Thank you for your business and we wish you the best! :)

Great! Just annoying to have emails go to spam.
I liked how simple it was to create email groups, template emails and email campaigns. It's literally the easiest one to use and I used MailChimp for a long time before switching to Benchmark.
My emails would often go to Junk. I even "warmed up" my email, but I still had problems.

I'm almost always on the lookout for free marketing software's to test out and after using SendinBlue and MailChimp, I wanted something with email marketing automation similar to MailChimp but with a smooth UI and design the abilities of MailChimp. I found Benchmark while searching for free email automation software's on Google. I wanted an email marketing software to create an email course....
Simple email editor, The free plan comes with features for beginners to email marketing or for bloggers and small businesses.
The email automation in the freeplan only allows one-off emails like welcome emails. What i wanted was to create drip campigns such as email courses but unfortunately the free plan doesnt allow that. I wish they had stated what the freeplan can and cannot do before i signed up, because i was looking forward to A/B testing, indepth reports and creating drip campigns but the free plan doesn't allow that.

We have decided to move to MailChimp. We are in the process of shifting over now. Thank you for the last few years of your support and service but we have experienced much unnecessary frustration with your features and stability.
Comfort as we have used your software for years. Time to time, I get a supervisor who can actually understand my query and answer my question properly.
Customer Service reps follow a script and do not read my initial query leading me to repeat myself and get really frustrated. Not all but most. Limitations on features such as editing html coded emails and not being able to upload html files. Limited to copy pasting html coded text. The Last Straw: Glitches and Crashing. For the past few months, I have gotten an error message when editing an image. There seems to be alot of crashes in the last few weeks. One day the whole site was down for HOURS. We were in the process of finalize an email to distribute to our members. As a result, we had to send the timely email late.
Hello Jenna, We are sorry to see you go. Thanks for the time you were with us. - Benchmark Team
