It has all the reporting features I need and comes with outstanding customer support.

Every feature it offers is reliable, updates are smooth.

The modification of the existing templates for receipts and letters requires a little getting used to, but is not really a major hindrance

You can maintain a database of all your donors and create household links.

APLOS prides in being the number #1 church accounting software.   But it's donation (main revenue for a church) processing system is terrible.  

The report names don't always match what my accountant asks me for so I have to do some digging to figure out what the equivalent report in Aplos is.

While a lot of features are good for larger companies or churches, a lot of small churches may not use all of them.

Treasurer

The foundation was using a software which was not designed for the services it provided, so I brought in Aplos.  

It's impossible to reach their customer service.  

There's no way a small church can afford to pay another vendor to handle payroll, but it's vital that any pay check I issue contain info on the amounts deducted (social security, state and federal taxes, etc) be printed on parts 2 and 3 of the business check.

APLOS makes keeping all of our financial reports in one place possible.

They also have reports on line that are yielding incorrect data for our users, and they won't hide those reports pending resolution.  

My board likes the reports, I like the ease of use.

The ones I have been in contact with have always been helpful and accommodating.

Integration with PayPal was really nice, also the capacity to create and send emails to donors.

I like the fact that the checkbook register, banking information, letter writing, fundraising campaign and donation tracking is in the same software.

It batch totals cash account lines, making it impossible to reconcile to cash: example Payroll when you have some people getting direct deposit and others a check.  

The CRM platform was added to this fund accounting system.  

It is also really easy for a non-accountant like me
