We love it and it's made life for our volunteers on Sunday mornings a lot easier.
It's intuitive and easy to use. We love the way it's compatible for Apple products.
Getting started initially, a bit of learning curve after using MediaShout for many years.

I like how ProPresenter handles videos seamlessly.
The Bible integration leaves so much to be desired. MediaShout got this right 15 years ago. Please fix it.

Overall, it’s a great program!!!
This software is better than any other I’ve used (SongShow Plus, MediaShout, EasyWorship, PowerPoint for worship projection. It has more bells and whistles, but it’s also more intuitive.
Definitely a system hog and crashes fairly often on an older Mac. I would add a “Are you sure you want to delete” to the plans on the left. It sucks if they get deleted.

Easy to learn. It was easy to teach my team and to use each week.
Lack of ease of use for chord charts. I am unable to type chord charts I to a box like mediashout offers.

It was great 10-15 years ago, when it replaced MediaShout at our church. I have since moved on to Worship Extreme and could not be happier!
Relatively easy to train someone from scratch to RUN a presentation.
Relatively impossible to train someone from scratch to CREATE a presentation, start to finish. The interface is dated, like 1990s dated. Remote app from Apple iTunes Store has not worked properly for over 5 years. (I called at least three separate times to ask to upgrade the app and/or correct the issues we were having, whether it was with the App or the computer program portion. I was told three separate times that it was "a problem on my end," "user-error," "a fix is in the works" or "you need to upgrade to the next version" which I did--both unpaid free updates AND paid to the newer versions of the software. It was NEVER remedied.)

Pro Presenter has been top notch ever since we switched from MediaShout. Costumer service is incredible, the power of the program is great and the options it gives seem limitless.
Pro Presenter has always been very user friendly and simple to figure out with out much help. It has all the bells and whistles that you could ask for, for a church media display system.
The only mark I will give Pro Presenter is they took away the ability to show a website on the audience display, that would really help in some situations.

Amazing. I could not be more happy with ProPresenter. I’ve been forced to use other software such as MediaShout, and it doesn’t even come close to the amazing UI that ProPresenter has.
Ease of integration with PCO and SongSelect. Input and edits of lyrics. Soft loops, countdowns, wireless controls, ease of iOS stage display setup and control.
Minimal web exploring capabilities. Lack of a Vimeo or YouTube integration. The cost of the cloud storage. The churches could I worked for could really benefit from the cloud storage, they simply could not afford it.

ProPresenter has been great for our use, however the occasional bug, especially in multi-screen use, have led to frustration on the part of me and our users of the software. There is a bit of a learning curve, but it's fairly self-explanatory once you get moving within the software.
ProPresenter is a great tool for us as functionality is much better than PowerPoint or MediaShout (and the like). There are many great options to include in your presentation as well as live video integration, which is perfect for our use.
ProPresenter can be "buggy" at times. Some of the (lauded) features don't always work as they should — though they do the majority of the time. However, these freezes, random crashes, and the like keep me from giving it a perfect score.

Over all I love ProPresenter. I used MediaShout before and I hated it. PP is so much better it's not even in the same ballpark. I highly recommend it. We use it throughout our church. The youth pastor loves being able to run presentations via his iPhone as well.
The interface is great and really makes running your presentations easy. Very user-friendly.
Occasionally there is a bug where the program freezes up, but it only happens when I'm creating presentations. It has never happened when I was running a presentation in a live situation.

This works with well with PowerPoint. It has been improving over the years.
Still not as easy to use as ProPresenter.
Hey Kirby, Thanks for taking the time to write a review! While Powerpoint has been challenging for many worship presentation software companies due to Microsoft Updates, we do have a couple of great options that get the job done in that area one way or another. We were surprised to see that you found ProPresenter easier to use! While we have nothing bad to say about their product at all, we normally...

Features, rich user interface, powerhouse for video backgrounds.
RAM hungry, steep learning curve, not quite ProPresenter.
Thanks for taking the time to review MediaShout! In our experience, MediaShout 7 will run pretty lean on most systems. We've actually been able to get LESS strict about minimum system requirements since the launch of V7 as it uses the latest technology and runs on a new platform that's optimal for lower-powered systems than we've been able to get by with in the past. Regarding ProPresenter, we have nothing bad to say-- we just want folks to choose what's best for them! I would definitely point out that we have a lot of users switching FROM ProPresenter who love the interface and tools in MediaShout, so I would say check it out first hand and see the benefits you get with MediaShout over a long period of time. Not only in the software, but also with our amazing support team.

Mediocre. Definitely glad to move over to ProPresenter.
Media shout offered functional capabilities for visual presentation in a church environment.
The ability to really customize and program visual aspects of a church service were limited and/or more difficult than I wanted them to be. Always felt like a bit of a struggle to get the program to do exactly what I envisioned.

It has more features than barebones software -- which is a nice balance.
It's still no ProPresenter in terms of features. Can be a little buggy at times.
Thank you so much for your review! We're so glad to hear and have you affirm that our software is a great fit for mid-level churches. We do also believe that MediaShout goes toe-to-toe with our competitors and has features that they do not yet have. While there are no major bug issues with MediaShout, we do want to make sure that we take every step to correct any Windows and/or video card driver issues for you. Please reach out to us if we can help!

We switched to another software (ProPresenter) because it is easier to use.
Feature rich. It can do a lot. This software can layer graphics on top of background and create slides for lyrics for churches
Difficult to understand how to use. Not as intuitive as other competing software. Would recommend other software over this one.

It does the basics of presentations in worship software well, but is frustrating to be behind ProPresenter even though the price is fairly similar.
MediaShout is an upgrade over PowerPoint and has a nice modern UI. It has improved reliability in the last couple versions.
It is always a few features behind ProPresenter. The Mac version of MediaShout is currently a version behind the Windows one.

I loved using it and found it super fun and easy. I could explain to someone else how to use it in minutes. It's great to be able to do things in the background while a slideshow is going or a video is running. It's easy to set moving backgrounds and it has pretty good default art setups for church presentation.
I grew up using this software to run media for our church. It was super simple and easy to teach others. It had all the basic functions necessary for church presentation. It's an easy windows program that's a MASSIVE upgrade from powerpoint and not as complciated to use as ProPresenter.
It doesn't have all the fancy options that ProPresenter has. Also, I'm seeing the price of MediaShout has increased significantly, which is a con.

After using this product for almost 5 years and then switching to ProPresenter I never tell people to use this product. I only ever suggest this because of the price difference.
It will run slides. You can import from CCLI You can add custom backgrounds and create set lists. Much cheaper than other competitors products (ie. ProPresenter)
No editing slides on the fly if needed. Overall platform feels very behind the times and harder to understand than most, updating and continual learning of the program was painful Mac version seems like an after thought that always is years behind their PC version.
Hey Trevor, It sounds like you're using an older version of MediaShout because editing on the fly is one of the hallmarks of the current version, MediaShout 6. I also wonder if you had the original version of the Mac software, which has been updated to match the Windows version within the past 2 years. Should you decide to return to MediaShout, remember your license is still active and available for your use. Take a look ar the new version and even download and use it as a trial for 30 days for free! I think you'll appreciate the difference! Have a blessed day!

This was the cutting edge presentation software for churches when it first was released. Then ProPresenter came along and made everything easier.
The bible scripture feature was so easy to display verses from different bible translations.
It was not user friendly, especially for volunteers who weren't using the software enough to stay familiar with the layout.
Hey Richard! Thanks for your review. You're right, MediaShout was the "pioneer" of church presentation software with the first ever concept of being able to navigate slides in random order or use motion backgrounds even. I wonder if you've seen our newer versions that came out around when ProPresenter was launched, and after? People say that our recent version 6, and especially our brand new version...

It was a solid upgrade from PowerPoint for our purposes.
It's better than PowerPoint in terms of functionality and does a totally decent job at running a church screen.
While this software is better than PowerPoint, it lacks the functionality of its competitors such as ProPresenter. It is also too difficult to use, especially in a volunteer situation where training is impossible.
Hey Pastor Jeff, I'd like to have the chance to speak with you about MediaShout. All church presentation softwares are different but also similar in many ways. I'd like to see if I could help you find the functionality MediaShout posesses. Please call in to our support line and ask for me. Thank you, have a blessed day, Adam

The development curve has been faster than other products in this category. Media Shout does an overall solid job in managing all aspects of church presentation software, and gives you a number of extra features that you can utilize (like social media integrations, asset management, migration tools).
Though development has improved over recent years, our experience has still been that it's less dependable and more buggy than other products like ProPresenter. We had frequent crashing issues that made us move on from the product.
Thank you for your review. I'd like to address the issue of crashing. We've found that, about 95% of the time, crashing is due to issues outside of MediaShout -- like a graphics card driver that's not up to date or a Windows update that changes the codec settings. This, of course, is not only a MediaShout issue but affects all presentation software outside of Microsoft Office. Our tech support team has gone to great lengths to offer solutions to these issues, both by phone and in our Knowledge Base of articles. I'd like to connect with you to discuss this further. Please contact me at your convenience. Have a blessed day!

Great idea but it’s glitchy junk. I’ve used ProPresenter for years and never had the issues that I’ve had with MS. It would be a great product... if it actually worked. And let’s not even start on the fact Windows has to do an hour long (or longer) “system update” EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK.
Not much because it’s so frustrating to use that there’s not much to like. Great when it works I guess.
Constantly freezes, crashes, computer errors (we even bought the new MediaShout computer with it pre-installed). Forget HD & 4K. It crashes and gives blue screens of death.

MediaShout was a great program that was in place when I took my role at the church. The downfall of mediashout in the eyes of the new ministry leaders is that they did not like the "feel" on Mac computers. It was for that reason that they selected ProPresenter to replace it.
Personally I loved the ease with which I could setup a service with MediaShout. I never felt that there was the same level of user error that I would find in pro presenter.
Apple users are less likely to use mediashout but I do not believe this to be an issue with the software as much as the never ending debate of PC vs Apple.

Mediashout let us create a more engaging service for our guests and congregation. We were able to not only have lyrics on the screen, but give them a wide variety of backgrounds and animations. Additionally we could automate some slides like our announcements to run on a timer until we were ready to proceed. And the ease of adding multiple media sources like audio and video gave us new avenues to share more content with our live audience.
Mediashout provided us with advanced presentation options for our church, giving us lyrics, slides, transitions, media playing capability, and verse sharing on the screens throughout our sanctuary. Our staff and volunteers were able to setup Sunday morning services and everything that needed to be on the screens. We did this in advance, saved the files, and went live on Sundays. Mediashout let us expand our capabilities outside of Powerpoint and incorporate more media into our services, which helped us keep our congregation engaged.
Media shout did a lot of advanced features compared to powerpoint but wasn't as advanced as pro presenter. We had issues editing slides on the fly and when things went sideways in the service, it was difficult to see all the slides at a glance to jump ahead or behind within the same window like Propresenter. And the software used a lot of system resources, so we had to make extra sure nothing was running in the background.
Thanks for taking the time to review! We're so glad to have been able to serve your church. From the content of the review, it looks like you may have been using a slightly out of date version. We'd love to invite you to check out features like Presenter View in MediaShout 7 to have a better experience seeing slides at a glance or jumping around as needed. The editing process has also been streamlined so it's a bit quicker to put things together even on the fly- AND there's about to be a new update to MediaShout 7 with even more focus on on-the-fly firing. Stay posted, and please let our support team know if we can help in any way on mediashout.com/support.

Overall, MediaShout was a great addition to our church software arsenal, adding a new level of engagement by removing distracting visual elements that can detract from worship services and prevent congregations from entering into worship. MediaShout helped remedy issues we had with PowerPoint, specifically videos not loading/playing properly, jarring transitions between slides, instant ability to navigate between non-concurrent slides without flipping through whole presentations, and much more. Plus, there is much more levels of depth available for us to explore such as announcement loops, built-in Twitter integration, and more.
MediaShout allows users to create engaging graphics for services more reliably than the old days of PowerPoint. Tailored specifically to church service needs, navigating between slides (even when they are not consecutive) look seamless— no more flipping through multiple slides to find the correct lyrics when the worship leader decides to repeat the chorus again.
After trying other similar church presentation software (EasyWorship, ProPresenter), MediaShout was right in the middle when it came to learning how to setup and run service presentations— not "plug and go" levels of user friendly, but not so complex it took ages to figure it out. Also, as a graphic designer, the on-board slide builder doesn't quite function as robustly as I had hoped, however this is an issue that all current church presentation software has.

Our church has used MediaShout 4, 5, and 6. We continue to run the 4.5 environment because the UI build and stability are preferable to both newer versions. However, we had to purchase support for 4.5 separately, which was an unnecessary expenditure (it hasn't failed, unlike the newer versions which crashed weekly). Generally, our A/V team likes to use MediaShout and appreciates the flexibility to build scripts with lots of customization. Newer presentation software, however, has more to offer and cross-platform compatibility (like ProPresenter). Depending on your A/V team or Tech team abilities, you could go either way with MediaShout or a competitor.
Integrations with multiple Bible translations, integrations with SongSelect and Planning Center Online, ability to streamline scripts for new volunteers. Multiple screen output.
Legacy versions tend to run cleaner than newer versions, lots of updates to continue eliminating bugs even when out of beta. Not cross-compatible with MacOS. Support for legacy versions must be purchased separately.
