CAD2BOM with high quality part/assembly properties would allow for robust BOM data at import. Within ETO and custom every time jobs, data input is a huge barrier that our clean CAD data could decrease substantially.

The integration with SolidWorks Premium significantly reduces manual data entry, improves data accuracy, and enriches engineering information. It streamlines the flow of product data from engineering to production, purchasing, and other departments,

It’s my core program, so any tool integrated with it will always enhance the workflow; honestly, Blender is easy to pick up, and I find that alternating between the two yields great results using Maya more for modeling and Blender for assembly.

Q. What is CATIA used for?

CATIA is a cloud-based and on-premise product modeling software, which helps businesses across various industry verticals, such as architecture, aviation, consumer packaged goods, transportation, and construction, design, build, and visualize 3D models. Features include team collaboration, simulation, visual scripting, and real-time concurrent designing. The application includes a 3D pattern shape creator tool, which lets system architects prepare, discover, and validate a variety of repetitive or non-regular shapes to be used for projects. Engineers can automate the designing of building components using custom or generic templates. CATIA allows construction professionals to modify and validate projects based on planning specifications or client requirements and perform daylighting simulation and shadow duration analysis. It enables electrical engineers to design wire harnesses and cabling, check design quality, and synchronize electrical design elements into 3D forms. Using CATIA, fluid engineers can build and optimize designs for rigid or flexible tubing, piping, and HVAC systems. The application also helps coordinators import 3D models in industry-standard file formats, review designs for geometric issues, and geolocate construction and infrastructure projects.
