Web Developer

The main drawback has been the responsiveness of support. When everything is running smoothly, ShipStation is a huge time‑saver, but during moments when you need quick assistance—especially on tight project deadlines—waiting for support can be frustrating.

Owner

Customer service was not very helpful but only at first maybe that person was having an off day I’m not sure

Head of IT

So far implementation has been straight forward, and support has been useful to get to where we need to be, so we have no complaints and our experience so far has been that we are dealing with professionals.

Director of Ecommerce

ShipStation acknowledged in October 2025 that the issue had been escalated to their development team.

ShipStation’s order management centralizes orders from all your sales channels into one dashboard, automates repetitive tasks like carrier selection and shipment setup, and lets you filter, split, or bulk-update orders for faster, more accurate fulfillment and happier customers.

Teacher

ShipStation offers a powerful set of tools that make managing orders, printing labels, and handling multi‑channel shipping far more efficient.

Founder

When it worked, ShipStation was useful for managing orders, buying labels, printing packing slips, and handling day-to-day shipping from one place.

Content writing

We have a warehouse, we have ecommerce sites, we have a remote warehouse. Because of the ability to integrate all aspects of our business for fulfilment we need ship station. How did we do it before?)

ChannelEngine's Senior Support Engineer confirmed the bug in writing on the ticket in September 2025, identifying the exact field mapping error.

Despite its strengths, ShipStation can feel complicated when you’re first learning the system, especially if you manage multiple stores or carriers.

Ease of ability to integrate multiple sales channels (Amazon, Shopify and esty) for both doing FBM as well as self fulfilled from our warehouse.

Packing slips, account funding, label purchases, and support interactions all became pain points.

IT Administrator

Overall, ShipStation is a fantastic tool for managing shipping/tracking with multiple ship vendors.

The software has a strong feature set on paper, but in practice I dealt with enough recurring issues that it became frustrating.

Some features are buried behind menus, and certain advanced tools require extra setup that isn’t always intuitive.

The fix requires changing one field reference in their integration code.

WooCommerce, in particular, connects effortlessly, making it easy to pull orders, manage shipments, and keep everything in sync without extra work on my end.

Co-Owner

After 10 years of managing logistics through ShipStation, it has remained the backbone of our fulfillment process.

Shipping Manager

It's pretty great at consolidating all our shipping labels from different marketplaces.

Some features that should be basic seemed to get pushed behind upgrades or became harder to manage over time.

Marketing manager

While there are plenty of carriers on there, it does lack quite a few in Australia that would be nice if they had.

Warehouse Leader

What i didnt like the most is not being able to update the SKU after they are saved and updating the UPC codes.

Now we have to upgrade to the Gold plan for $139.99 in order to be able to ship off our our Lightspeed online with Shipstation.

I liked that I could integrate ShipStation with my SquareSpace website and easily print postage for orders.

I would have liked some preset address options or better copy and paste options

It’s user-friendly and integrates well with various sales channels and carriers, making shipping and order management much easier.

General Manager

I really didn't need to change anything except the barcode size, because the barcode on the default packing slip is too small and doesn't scan.

Head of E-commerce

Doesn't allow for more nuanced manipulation of shipping labels and templates.

Partner

I sell products on multiple online marketplaces and shipstation was the official product I used to ship from

Solutions Analyst

We have been able to create custom tags that allow our team to gain more detail into orders to ensure the shipping method is best for the order.

I need shipping software to be boring, reliable, and fast.

IT Director

I also like how it is now separate from Paypal but still integrates well with orders.

Shipstation has by far the best UX/UI of any of the shipping softwares we've used (Shippo, Easypost, Pirate Ship).

Inventory and Operations

Has many tools to help ship product at the most cost-effective price for your business.

I could see gradual increases over time but this is $110 extra a month while we are being hit with ridiculous tariffs and price increases.

Marketing Manager

The integrations could use some mapping settings to prevent issues.

Head of Core experiences

Very, very positive, as a long-term user, it was easy to set up, has great features for tracking workflows

Operations Manager

It now costs extra to use your own carrier rates.

USPS rates are quite bad as they force you to provision your own USPS account.

President

In order to continue using their API, they are forcing everyone into a subscription that is 10x more expensive!!

Production and Product Line Manager Former Marketing And Web Manager

Dated user interface and periodic downtime and glitches

IT Manager

They are hard to get a hold of and when you do they cannot solve the issue most of the time. When you do get a hold of them, they give you a run around with no actual help.

Director of Implementation

Better prices for shipping versus order a label directly or walking into the store to ship.
