I think Basecamp, especially for small - medium sized teams, is a game changer, and allows projects to stay on track and enhances the ease of collaboration. It takes out the guess-work of what you have to do, what you're waiting on other team members for, and where to find important documents.

I've used Slack within the Marketing team and we created function-specific channels namely #content #design #coding #campaignlaunches. It really helped structure our work and things got done faster.

Slack for Team Collaboration

Since Campfire/Basecamp is EOLed, we've switched to this.  It offers quite a few more features than Basecamp, but at a loss of usability.  Chief amongst them is the notifications don't work as I'd like (Campfire style).

Our replacement for Basecamp

I use Slack mainly for team chat and keep the communication at work going. It is so easy and fun to use. I wish there is a way for live screen share. Highly recommend!

Using Slack gives you joy at work

This product works well. I think it's best for teams working on projects and reduces the amount of wasted timeand effort to creating in-person meetings.

As a small marketing agency, we tried multiple project management tools (Basecamp, Asana) and Slack turned out to be the best!

Overall communication is increased having Slack around and being able to pin important notes or reminders for each channel is great. Wish that it integrated with all of our other software, but that's a minor quibble overall.

It's a great tool which I would love to use more. The only things stopping me are the lack of support from the companies I've worked for and other tools we use that offer similar features (e.g. Basecamp).

It's incredible that they were able to develop such a versatile tool; it can be adapted to your work and your industry in so many ways. Super easy to use and intuitive.

Slack- Helping email go away, one message at a time

Overall, Slack is a perfectly fine product that offers a lot of functionality that many similar products simply can't match. But when it comes to speed, there are times that I prefer programs like Discord or even Basecamp. 

Almost perfect, but with flaws

We started with one channel and a few teams using Slack as an experiment.
Within weeks, we'd sprouted channels for all kinds of projects and programs.
In a few months, everyone was using it, everyday.
And we never gave anyone a single minute of training or onboarding.
That's how intuitive it is.
Today, we work very differently than we did when email was clogging up our lives.
We make decisions faster, accelerate all projects and keep the right people in the right loops, effortlessly.

Gamechanger for team communication

We could use a plethora of messaging tools to communicate: from HipChat, to Basecamp Campire, Google Hangouts, and email, but Slack is my go to. I use it to chat with our global team. It's pretty easy to upload a screenshot and /giphy makes it fun. I like the option to have direct messages as well as channel convo's. I've also tested integrations with Trello and Jira.

Overall I am content with Slack.   Comparing to the previous ones we have tried using, Slack definitely kept all of us on the same page when it comes to the progress of a project. You know how you have to have check your email and phone regularly. You can just add Basecamp to the list, but it's worse, because at least you get notified of emails.

Some notes and files can get lost when attached to a task. Maybe if there was some notification or something more eye catching to let the user know there is more to look at before starting the task.
