Pencil Project is an open-source GUI prototyping software designed to help developers create mockups across popular desktop platforms. It lets teams draw different types of user interfaces ranging from desktop to mobile platforms using the built-in shapes collection.
Key features of Pencil Project include inter-page linking, clipart browsing, document export wizard, and diagram drawing support. The platform offers a variety of built-in shape collections, which include flowchart elements, desktop/web UI shapes, general-purpose shapes, and Android and iOS GUI shapes. Individuals can "wire" shapes together in a diagram using connectors and a collection of flowcharts available for drawing various diagrams.
Pencil Project enables users to output drawing documents into different types of formats, such as rasterized graphics (PNG files), single web page, PDF, send to printer, multi-page SVG file, and OpenOffice.org document (ODT file).
