Pros

It's been great having so many templates to choose from and customize. Awesome that it can be integrated with MS Teams.
I love the ease to customize your sheet for whatever you need and however you like it. Love being able to switch around columns and sort rows so quickly too.
The project being web-based helps to share information with other members of the team. The ability to export to various formats, as well as get team updates is a huge benefit.

Pros

The fact it's free is amazing. It's a great choice for personal or small business or non-profits.
I love this it's free, easy to use, comparable to Excel, and accessible on multiple devices. I use it mainly for my budget, which has not only helped me save a lot of money but plan for the future.
I like it because It's % 100 Free app from google and it's very easy to use with a clean and useful user interface. I like how I can create many sheets in one project and use other sheets format.

Cons

I then took the Smartsheet training to be certified and that opened my eyes to the power of the tool (and also to the fact that the sheets I hated were users in our company using it very, very WRONG).
The only complaint that I have is that if the spreadsheet is very large, the page can be slightly laggy.
Some features seem to be missing or limited features available.

Cons

When downloading to a Word document on your laptop, there is often formatting error and glitches which can be annoying.
Google Sheets suffers from severe slowdowns when working with a few hundred rows of data. Don’t even bother if there are complex equations within those rows.
It can be frustrating when there's no information online about troubleshooting some formula errors.

Smartsheet is only as good as you make it. There are a lot of different uses you can use with it, but for us, using google sheets and monday served better for our needs.

Pros

Smartsheet is easy because it because it gives everyone visibility into a document at the same time. People can check who made which edits.

Cons

We use Smartsheet like how most people would use google sheets. It was pretty much the same thing, except google sheets is cheaper.

It is great to trqck projects with external stakeholders. We’ve been usinf this software for more than 5 years and still using. After the agile transformation we helped company to implemnt and it was very easy.

Pros

It is easy to track projects and pipeline at the same time. You are able to allocate tasks to the external stakeholders.

Cons

Not full integration with google sheets and/or excel.

Overall, I enjoyed smartsheet but had a hard time getting the buy-in from my team.

Pros

I loved the integration with google sheets. Additionally, all the things I want from google sheets - smartsheet truly seemed to do even smarter.

Cons

I didn't think Smartsheet was fully capturing what it could do to add value in the Legal world, particularly the litigation profession. This spreadsheet can be extremely helpful in creating fact timelienes, and case chronologies. However, there aren't any current templates marketing toward the field at all. A template, to help other visualize would have been helping when I tried to convince my team to jump on board.

An okay software, probably more useful if you utilize all the features. However, we were able to do everything we needed on google sheets.

Pros

Had many features for sharing and editing sheets and to do lists, although we didn't use those features. Never had errors, easy to share sheets.

Cons

Poor user interface, not very elegant looking. Scrolling wide sheets was cumbersome. Everything we did on smartsheet we could do in google sheets.

Pros

Nice features on the Project Management side of things but somewaht expensive when compared with other options. I have use it and paid for it to manage projects using similar approach to MS Project but online. I like it because of the fact it is online, you can invite people to see it at no extra cost, you can comment on the tasks and it has a great Gantt view. But the price has increased and I've change it for another tool.

Cons

The price is a little bit high when compared with other solutions. If you just use excel sheets alike, you can go with Google sheets for instance.

There was no value in using Smart Sheet over competitor apps. It actually took more time to complete the same simple spreadsheet tasks in Smart Sheet than in Google Sheets or Excel.

Pros

It was easy to access a spreadsheet link from a team member.

Cons

There was nothing about Smart Sheet that made it more useful than Google Sheets or Excel. The steps for similar functions were different enough to waste time trying to do the same things in Smart Sheet that could be done faster in Google Sheets or Excel.

Similar to google sheets or excel online, it’s easy to use and share. Has standard formatting options.

Cons

Not a whole lot stick out or make this tool particularly special in my opinion. We use it as a project tracking spreadsheet.

Pros

This software allows the combination of collaboration of Google Sheets with the data-mining aspects of SQL.

Cons

Smartsheet provides more basic functionality of each SQL and Google Sheets, rather than going deep in both. Therefore there are many advanced features which do not exist (yet).

With Smartsheet I was able to coordinate with my managers on every project and track employee function and written communications. This makes reporting a breeze!

Pros

Smarts sheets real time editing excels that of Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel. It is nice to be able to work realtime in real meetings with my employees and managers. Thank you Smartsheet.

Cons

There is some functionality that could be improved for laptops on a wireless connection. The desktop however has seen no issues what so ever.

Pros

The advanced features Smartsheet gives like real-time data visualization, advanced user management, user collaboration works like a charm. No other software was providing this when Smartsheet first started in 2006.

Cons

The same features mentioned in the Pros section are now provided by Google Sheets, Google Forms and several other providers for free. Paying for these feature doesn't make any sense anymore.

Pros

Smartsheets is a powerhouse! This tool combines some of the very best features of Google Sheets and Excel in one.

Cons

Lack of notifications when others have made edits or comments. There's also a ton of hidden features...don't know about them unless you spend a ton of time clicking around.

Pros

Easy to use, easy to share between and within companies, great dashboards, and fast

Cons

The fact that the changes must be saved can be difficult at times. Some users are used to tools like Google Sheets that autosave.

This software is practically Google Sheets, but with more functionality and better features. It's collaborative Excel, with more features and to do lists.

Cons

I don't have a lot of cons here because this is just a lot better than using Excel or Google Sheets, in my opinion.

Pros

Smartsheet has a Jira plugin and allows 1 way or 2 way communication. Smartsheet's functionalities are way more robust than Google Sheets.

Cons

Smartsheet is not so user friendly and the UX could definitely use some updating. It can be difficult to figure out where certain tools are.

Personally, I love it! I wish Smartsheet had more features like Google does

Pros

I love the collaboration feature. Also, it's like Excel which makes it super duper easy to use. Highly recommend

Cons

There's not much privacy if used without the privacy/paid feature. Also UCSF does not use it because we use Smartsheet

Pros

I have been checking options like smartsheet and other tools to share work with the team. However I still find the google sheets as the best tool.

Cons

It is just when we download the offline version, it takes time to sync with the online version when the network is available

Incredible for free software

Google sheets lets me easily create summary sheets directly from Smartsheet whether I'm in the office or working from home. It stops duplication of effort and is invaluable to me.

Pros

The best thing about Google Sheets is that it's free. It has most of the functionality of the Microsoft equivalents but anyone anywhere can use it no matter what their financial situation.

Cons

The only bad thing is that there's not as much functionality as Microsoft's equivalent software. I don't actually care though because it's free so that makes it the winner in my opinion.

Pros

I was using excel like most people but switched to Google Sheets and Ill NEVER go back. When I need a spreadsheet Google Sheets is the way to go. I love not having to worry about constantly saving my document, love the layout of everything, all the tools I need to use are easy to get to, its laid out great. Overall great software.

Cons

1. This isn't really a con of google sheets but more of a feature I wish google had and that is I wish they had a view or a separate app that worked off of the sheet to see the spreadsheet better like Airtable or Smartsheet or something like that.
