Journal entries are created for initial recognition, interest accrual, depreciation, lease payments, CPI remeasurements, and supported reassessments and modifications. Parameters such as payment amount, timing, frequency, discount rate, lease term, and commencement adjustments including lease incentives, initial direct costs, and restoration amounts are entered by the user. The engine converts annual discount rates to monthly rates, applies present value logic to calculate lease liability, and adjusts the right-of-use asset before calculating depreciation.

The solution accommodates rent-free periods, deferred incentives, and multiple CPI or indexation events with snap-to-payment-date logic and warnings for misaligned remeasurement dates. Lease changes can be processed through a defined reassessment path for term or payment modifications, standalone consideration or term changes, scope decreases with proportional derecognition, same-lease scope increases, restoration changes, and multi-date modification packages including same-day merged scenarios and sequential packages. On supported plans, the platform provides single-click Excel export for packaging schedules and journals into a multi-sheet workbook. The workbook includes tabs for readme, audit summary, action list, inputs, optional CPI data, liability schedule, right-of-use asset schedule, journal entries, explain, checks, exceptions, control register, control evidence, metadata, modification trace, CPI event trace, disclaimer, and per-modification reconciliations. This export supports reviewer walkthroughs with audit summary tabs, automated exception checks, control registers documenting inputs and assumptions, control evidence tracing calculations to source data, and metadata capturing parameters and version details.

The application operates as a web-based tool requiring no installation or spreadsheet maintenance. Server-side calculations follow a documented methodology for transparency. Detailed documentation covers payment timing logic, present value calculations, right-of-use asset adjustment sequences, journal entry structure, and CPI date-snapping rules. The tool enforces a defined event processing sequence to maintain calculation integrity and audit clarity and issues warnings when inputs exceed supported parameters, CPI dates require adjustment, or scenario complexity demands professional judgment. The standalone nature of the platform ensures that results can be exported as Excel workbooks for integration into financial reporting workflows, audit files, or general ledger systems via manual data transfer.
