Problems with billing and fees

I pinged support on Jul 31st to request cancellation and they assured me our subscription was cancelled. And then like clock work, on our next billing cycle we were charged $1400.

62% of reviewers feel negative about Glofox’s membership charges. Reviewers indicate difficulties with managing memberships, such as being overcharged, problems canceling subscriptions, and recurring billing errors. Some users say hidden fees and lack of transparency in charges create distrust. They report issues with membership management features, like inability to pause or manually adjust payments, and express frustration over being charged after cancellation or for services not received. Data breaches and billing mistakes have also caused loss of client trust.

Frequent technical glitches

Director

The system is also extremely slow and despite using different laptops, several browsers, PC and Mac and various internet connections, I get fobbed off that its an issue at my end. Yet when I reset filters it works straight away. But then slows down again very quickly afterwards.

The system is glitchy, the calendar takes 24 hours to update which is completely pointless for quick business changes.

There are occasional glitches, especially when parents try to add multiple children to bookings, which can cause some confusion.

I wish there was a way for monthly members to book more than 30 days in advance to prevent waitlists and frustration.

Co-founder

I've been trying to cancel my subscription as a gym and studio owner, and it took a month before I received a confirmation about cancelling my membership. Despite multiple emails, calls, and submitted tickets. Since then, I've ben trying to get my data migrated to a new system and am once again begin ghosted.

Overall, ABC Glofox has been a valuable tool for managing our studio and streamlining administrative tasks.

It has helped me the overall running of the studio as it has saved me some time of the tasks I used to do manually.

Owner, therapist, practitioner and instructor

October arrived and I’m not sure if the app had an update or what occurred but all the sudden without any change to the schedule/availability on my end and (in fact the back end shows my correct hours), clients can all the sudden book appointments well into the night all the way to 2 am.

Now that I have finally gotten a hold of Customer success managers [sensitive content hidden], I have been able to have very productive meetings and correct a lot of inefficiencies and incorrect setups that were not correct during the onboarding process.

Their integration with Wellhub is not fully completed.

They do integrate with Kisi, but having to have members go to a separate app is not my favorite.

Scheduling and membership management work smoothly.

operations manager

Also when creating staff. Upon deleting them, you can't use the same emails unless you change it again, despite it being deleted.

App showing 4 weeks in advance (as per settings), web portal showing 2 and half months in advance.

Customer service is also good and responsive when support is needed.

Not being able to have a data capture pop up on my page, but I learnt it was due to my membership.

Seamless onboarding and migration from.my old gym membership management system.

Automation and organization of leads and clients is excellent.

General Manager

I feel like there are some costs and features that aren't well explained in order to possible get extra add ons purchased.

The quarter ends in March, that is 6 months of non answers and no fixes and last week a new issue has arrived.

Professor of Exercise Science

Being in higher ed, we can get busy really fast once the semester has started, [sensitive content hidden] did a great job of checking in and making sure we have everything we need.

So far pretty good, I am still getting the hang of using the system with customers as it does seem like you have to allow them to run into issues before everything works smoothly.

That I can’t edit payment dates for presale myself, we have to go through the technical team.

One major defect is that not all customers get emailed when pressing forgot password.

Very scalable solution for multiple locations.

They will not refund unused paid months of their worthless service. If all you want is software where people register and book themselves into classes then this will work for you. If you want more out of your gym software management then this is not the product for you.

I understand that these things cost money, obviously. But we ended up switching to a platform that put the cost on the members in a fair and balanced way.

Sports Therapist, Clinic Owner and PT

Research all your options as there are platforms for £10 a month that do the same.

My onboarding rep was not knowledgeable and frequently responded to my questions with “I’ll find out” and then to never provide a straight answer-

That I spent so much money on a platform that was unnecessary for my business and the company still decided to upsell what I didn’t need.

Then out of the blue, I was given a new rep who after I shared my concerns, apologized for the inconvenience but did no better besides offering up excuses why the answers are hard to come by.

That they don't have their own access control.

Founder and CEO

Had a great on-boarding experience feeling supported throughout the entire process.[sensitive content hidden], my account manager, was helpful, insightful and provided great tips on how to use the system and get the most out of it.
