I had been using this software for a year. When my promotional pricing ended, I contacted customer support simply to ask if there were any options to reduce the cost or find a plan that better fit my budget.

There was no attempt to keep me as a customer—just, "If you want to leave, goodbye."

I've never experienced such poor customer service from a subscription-based business.

Instead, the learning curve and time spent hunting for basic functions offset any promised benefits.

Too many clicks for simple tasks, and navigation isn’t obvious.

The interface feels busy and unintuitive.

Tekmetric wants you to click (everything is 3 or more clicks) edit a few times, change color, then go in and change tech, and it STILL would not reassign the tech on the job.

For the price, we expected smoother onboarding and noticeable efficiency gains.

We spent more time figuring out how to use features than benefiting from them.

Multiple screens running was not actually useful because if you look up parts in one tab and switch to another, the parts tab crashes.

I also love how easy it is to look up vehicle history, to input a new customer or search for an existing customer as well as tracking inventory and inspections and I really love the ability to take photos during inspections because it's proof you can show to the customer building report with them and earning their trust.

STOP UPDATING SOFTWARE IN THE MIDDLE OR ON SUNDAYS, DO YOUR UPDATES ON FRIDAY NIGHTS, let the Saturday shops be the genie pigs, having the software crash Monday morning or during the week is not fun.

As mentioned earlier my only complaint is that the labor guide is less robust than Mitchell.

I am essentially having to write my tickets twice.

Can’t put more than 1 tech assigned on same job, only one credit card integration.

Building and sharing ROs is fast and efficient.  

I like how it is easy to use and learn, I love the TIme clock features for the techs we love having them clock in and out at the start and end of the day, it is also nice to have a time clock for each job, this prevents loss of time throughout the day.

I.e. parts are flagged ordered and when we receive said part we have the ability to mark received and it lets the tech know his parts are here.

Tekmetric has allowed us to incorporate digital vehicle inspections into our automotive repair business.  

I can easily track my hours worked, jobs I have worked and it is so easy to clock in/out!

What I like most is the Customer aspect of Tekmetric, sharing estimates, invoices and online payment.

I can use it on all the computers and tablets in the shop.

Their sales people present the "great product out there" in sales-after the sale it gets a  little snarky.

They actually listen to their customers.

The repair orders and parts ordering features are both located within the same system and that has made a huge difference from where they were spread around the shop.

The most basic reporting has too many variances - you can open 3 labour reports for the same period and all have different values for not only hours, but dollars billed. How are you supposed to run a business if you cannot trust the numbers in the system.  

There is no summary of the hours booked in the calendar by day, so you know how much work you have booked for each day.   And the work around requires using the calendar by technician, but the length of the calendar appointments default to 1 hour.  

Now you have to transfer all the line items of the work order, parts ordered, and the customer approval stays with the old work order.

The advisor has to make it the right length for each appointment, not based on hours estimated, then we have to revise the appointment as work is authorized.

of the time we try to use parts tech to order parts we are met with an error message and have to close and reopen the browser. Since we have been using the software the payments screen will not load on the first try and sometimes it requires refreshing the page multiple times before you are able to take the payment from the customer.
