Pros

It also includes a very handy password generator I love to use when creating new user accounts everywhere. It is the single best password manager I have ever had the pleasure of using.

I love the ability to store all my passwords and other login information in one place. This is especially true for me because my organization requires frequent changes (for security reasons).

Super easy to use and you only need to remember one master password, that is a huge help. You can also use the strong recommended passwords because you don't have to memorize them or write them down.

SP

Pros

I like the simplicity and reliability of the interface. I also like that each password is a file and I can save them and backup myself.

I like that RoboForm is safe and easy to use. I also like that I can safely store notes there and I can use RoboForm on my cell phone.

It is wonderful to be able to access a form and not have to manually enter all the information over and over again.

Cons

I've had trouble with it logging me out for no apparent reason. Can be frustrating at times as you need to login to something quickly and this slows the process.

AR

Anonymous Reviewer

There is always the danger that the user will forget their are master password and that would render the software more than useless.

We're currently looking into switching because we've lost trust in Lastpass. Who knows what negative changes they'll make to their business practices in the future.

Cons

The second time I tried it was last year when Firefox updates were messing up my LastPass experience. I hated the feel of Roboform and it was not an intuitive experience for me.

AR

When switching versions from standard to business and back to standard, it kept giving me an error that the business account was expired. Perhaps a install issue but more of a burden than an issue.

RT

Ramon T.

Roboform is the only password security system with no headaches or worries for the users.

Last Pass Does a Very Solid Job

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall LastPass is a very good password / login management tool. Fairly easy to use and makes being on multiple devices much easier which make it better in my opinion than Roboform.

Pros

I like that you are prompted most of the time to save a login /password. I also like that it is web based and can serve both home and office as well as mobile devices.

Cons

There seem to be times when visiting a website that username/password does not populate. On the PC version it seems clumsy to try and get access to your stored logins.

LastPass

A must for every business in terms of security.

Reviewed 4 years ago

Free & secure way to handle both personal and work related passwords.

Pros

Managing a small business also means you'll need to handle the internal security. If you're sharing passwords between employees via email/chat then that poses a real security risk. We chose LastPass' Enterprise (for teams < 50) and we couldn't have done a better choice. The alternative was Roboform but in terms of UI and features Lastpass is well above it. Each of us can have their own work/personal vault thus using it for both business and personal use, easy & secure password sharing and security.

Cons

Sharing works just fine but could be a bit more easy to do, especially if you have to share with multiple recipients.

Better Choices

Reviewed 2 years ago

I switched to the free version of LastPass for its ability to synchronize across devices with less difficulty.

Pros

RoboForm lets you synchronize your passwords and works across browsers. I've used RoboForm for years on a MacBook and like auto-fill passwords from a centralized site.

Cons

There have been too many problems with Chrome browser extensions, and auto-fill seems to compete with the browser.

RoboForm

I tried it and didn't like it

Reviewed 3 years ago

It's a great password manager for some, but not for me.

Pros

It manages passwords and has a nice interface.

Cons

I've tried Roboform twice. The first time I tried it because a colleague recommended it when I was searching for a password manager. I tried it for a few days and ran in the other direction and eventually chose LastPass. The second time I tried it was last year when Firefox updates were messing up my LastPass experience. I hated the feel of Roboform and it was not an intuitive experience for me. Once Firefox figured out their updates, I ran back to LastPass with relief.

Vendor response

We're sorry to hear you didn't find RoboForm to be an intuitive tool. We're always striving to improve the user experience and we'd love to receive any specific feedback you may be willing to provide. At your convenience, please feel free to submit the details here: https://www.roboform.com/php/rtss/main/contact?lang=en. Thank you.

RoboForm

A password manager should be mandatory and RoboForm should be at the top of your list.

Reviewed 3 years ago

I have a business license which offers administrative control over a number of accounts. Despite the lack of polish of the UI in some areas, I find RoboForm a lifesaver that I don't go a day without using. For individuals, I still recommend the free version of LastPass but for any heavier user, RoboForm is certainly worth the consideration.

Pros

At a previous organization we used to use KeePass which the desktop password editor seems to be based on, so familiarity went a long way for me. I like how condensed the UI is and the organizational "tree" folder structure, while bringing me back to Windows 3.1 days (joke) is actually probably the best approach for cramming in many passwords for many organizations. This, compared to the Last Pass "card" view for example is way more efficient. There are extensions for virtually every browser and sync generally works well.

Cons

There are some login forms that RoboForm has a hard time with. A little ironic as RoboFORM originally started out as an auto-form completion tool. Anyway, it's not a big deal to open up the app and copy a password now and again. The second gripe would just be inconsistencies within the UI(s) of the various apps. It could be more aligned and user-friendly. The one feature I wish RoboForm had was the ability to bulk-change passwords at the click of a button if you get an inkling that something of yours may have been compromised.
