Princeton TMX overview

Princeton TMX is a transportation management solution designed to help industrial shippers for building materials, concrete, and mining businesses, and more manage transportation activities with carrier, rate and exception management tools, plus rules-based tendering, appointment scheduling, and business intelligence. Princeton TMX offers users a central location from which to manage all carrier communication. The graphical scheduler enables users to plan work and schedule appointments clearly. Users can also check dock schedules at-a-glance. The tender module helps users automate their transportation activities by allowing users to configure their rules for tendering shipments to their carriers.

Users can create, view, update and manage their transportation rates, as well as create, view and modify their shipping lanes all from the same place. Princeton TMX allows users to define lanes as broad or specific as geographic regions or addresses. Configurable load management screens give users a real-time list of their shipments, while sorting and filtering tools enable users to quickly find the information they need. The dashboard displays KPI graphs and charts, giving users real-time insight into business performance. Users can also access and manage all of their exceptions from the dashboard. The trailer pool feature allows shippers and carriers to track all trailers from any warehouse, plant or location.

Princeton's customer service and sales is approachable and quick to respond.

Pros
The dashboard viability allows one person to oversee hundreds of daily load. You can quickly see what load are not covered and assure the issue is resolved. The dock appointment system has saved a significant amount of money in truck detention.

Cons
The flexibility of making on the fly changes to the available dock appointments is an issue that needs to be addressed. Not being able to block holidays for incoming tenders makes our carriers work when they should be enjoying some family time.

Overall experience with Princeton TMX has been positive. I find that they understand my business needs and we are able to find solutions within the program to assist my team in maximizing our service potential in a cost effective manner.

Pros
Use and training of the system is quick and simple. Data visibility is easily customizable to fit my company needs. Customer support is responsive and available 24/7.

Cons
Would like to have a more robust and dynamic report making tool.

Pros
Princeton software is easy to use and gives a full spectrum of TMS functionality. The presentation and design are top notch and make the user experience effortless and smooth. Software speed is quick when queuing up requests. Columns are easy to sort and move into the position most desired adding to the use of the software. Customer support is strong and adds that next layer of personality to the Princeton TMX package.

Cons
Nothing significant comes to mind as far as a dislike with the software.
