Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

a la calc overview
What is a la calc?
a la calc is a cloud-based nutrition analysis and food label generation platform which allows users to create UK and EU-compliant food labels for their food products. The platform offers built-in UK and US standard nutrient databases, real-time nutritional analysis, RDA and GDA calculations, cost breakdowns, and more.
With a la calc, users can rapidly generate product nutritional information, labels, and cost breakdowns for all of their recipes. More than 12000 ingredients are available in the included UK standard McCance and Widdowson nutrient database, and custom ingredients can be added to cover any gaps. Notes, pictures, and tags can be attached to recipes to simplify finding and re-creating products. Costs can also be specified for each ingredient to provide full cost breakdowns for each recipe.
a la calc instantly provides full nutritional analyses for recipes, including quantitative ingredients declaration (QUID), guideline daily amounts (GDAs), recommended daily allowances (RDAs), and allergen components. Traffic light labeling is supported, with all product labels generated in compliance with FSA-mandated regulations. Nutritional analyses can be exported in spreadsheet format, and users can download their product labels for postprocessing or printing.
