Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

Auth-Email overview
What is Auth-Email?
Auth-Email is an OAuth relay service that enables legacy applications, hardware devices, and scripts to connect to modern email providers through standard IMAP, POP, and SMTP protocols without native OAuth support. It addresses authentication challenges that occur when providers require OAuth for enhanced security and legacy systems rely on traditional username and password methods. The platform operates as a transparent proxy that handles OAuth authentication on behalf of connected systems while preserving interoperability with existing infrastructure. Full protocol compatibility extends support to all authorization methods and legacy connection protocols for older mail systems.
Users authorize email accounts via a centralized management dashboard using secure OAuth two point zero flows and define custom passwords for application connectivity. A suite of add-ins enables custom mail server behaviors that align with specific business requirements. The service accommodates email aliases, shared accounts, and delegated mailboxes. All account credentials are encrypted with user-defined passwords and remain inaccessible to the service provider.
The dashboard allows administrators to monitor and manage multiple accounts concurrently and to revoke access at any time for compliance purposes. Unlike SMTP forwarding services, Auth-Email maintains connections through the original provider servers to prevent deliverability interruptions and to eliminate the need for complex DNS configuration, SPF, DKIM, or DMARC setup. Server maintenance and mailbox migration are not required.
The platform supports major email providers including Gmail, Google Workspace, Microsoft three hundred sixty five, Exchange Online, Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL, Yandex, Fastmail, and Internet service provider accounts from AT and T, Cox, Comcast, Sky, and Rogers. Custom OAuth client configuration is available for all grant types to support specialized authentication scenarios and integration into custom workflows. A range of supplementary tools is provided without registration, including an email header analyzer, connection testing utilities for IMAP, POP, and SMTP, file importers and viewers for EML and MSG formats, a MIME structure explorer, a winmail dot dat opener, DNS record checkers, and tenant management utilities.
