What is FastPass Sync?
FastPass Sync is a password synchronization solution that copies new passwords across multiple systems and applications. It works by intercepting clear text passwords in Active Directory before encryption, allowing the new password to be securely synchronized to the user's other accounts.
By synchronizing passwords, users only have to remember one single master password. This also strengthens security as users can focus on creating and remembering a very complex password without the hassle of multiple credentials. From a technology perspective, FastPass Sync supports broad integration.
It can synchronize Active Directory passwords across Azure AD, SAP, IBM, Oracle, SQL, and other systems. Specifically, it works with all SAP versions on Kernel 46E and above, multiple Oracle systems from one implementation, and IBM I series, IBM I AS400 and IBM Z environments. Deployment is flexible either on-premises or in the cloud.
FastPass Sync also handles password policy enforcement and validation. It automatically checks new passwords against policies and synchronizes the password if strength requirements are met. Additional features include asynchronous handling if a target system is offline and the ability to map user IDs across systems.
