Pros and cons

Personally, I have found what I need to produce in this daw, it has good plugins, quality virtual instruments, and very good support for third-party plugins.
FL studio is one of the most popular daw out there, it seems expensive to some people n not expensive to some people, what I like most about it is that it's very easy to use.
Aside from its unique workflow which is quite useful for breaking out of creative blocks, there are a few excellent flexibility options for sound design and composing alike.
I had some problems wanting to use it within other sound editing programs where the export was not working correctly.
I felt FL studio had a difficult learning curve and didn't seem as intuitive as other DAWS that I have used, this could be because I have been conditioned not to work the FL way.
There are some troubles when you try to use some files from Adobe Flash with the same extension. I'd like to see another extension for FL studios files.

My Number One DAW Software

Reviewed 3 years ago

Fl Studio has made my musical journey interesting and simple, it has got so many features and tools that you can use to explore your creativity in sound design with endless possibilities in what you can do, I use it to record vocals, instruments, and also design sound effects. I have never been this satisfied. It's the best DAW of all time. It helps me work faster and organize my projects so that I can easily navigate the program and allows me to customize my projects with color and icons so that I can visually see different parts of my projects with ease and without stressing.

Pros

FL Studio is my favorite DAW, I love the interface, and It's so easy to use. I have used FL for a decade now I don't think I will ever change to another. I have tried so many similar programs only Fl Studio stood out to be faster and more comfortable to work with. It supports countless third-party plugins that you download from other vendors which you can easily install and use in no time. FL Studio...

Cons

It's not free but you can download a trial version which has limitations. If you are just starting out I recommend you start with a trial version. It took time for me to learn how to use it effectively, as a beginner I had to learn from experienced users because at that time I had no access to the internet and youtube as we do now. Learning how it works will help in getting the most out of this program.

I'll Always support Image Line

Reviewed 2 years ago

FL Studio has been the best program to write in or to hook up to midi and to record vocals straight into a live recording. Image line has seriously done a great job in developing this program all the while looking after the users by listening to them and then tweaking VST's and fx generators / plugins. You guys rock. Thanks

Pros

After extensively using composing programs like Reason, Cakewalk, impulse Tracker, and Fl Studio etc , I found that FL studio was the most user friendly when learning the program. It also, for some reason, has the best sound engine. It just sounds so much better than the others . FL studios code must be so neat and tidy because it never hangs freezes while writing a large composition, and it just keeps ticking on time as soon as you push spacebar.

Cons

After using F L since when it was originally called Fruity Loops , I still struggle to load up "flp" files from 2003 in the Latest FL Studio. Maybe when saving a new project, it could copy those exact samples automatically into a new folder dedicated to each project. Now that would be helpful.Think about it!. That way each composition safely keeps it's associated files and samples together, including any licenses if needed for releasing. But That's laziness on my part really...

The most complicated app in this world

Reviewed 3 years ago

An utter delusion. Don’t lose your time with this.

Pros

I didn’t like anything really. It’s just so complicated you can’t do a thing on this thing and there are no good tutorials

Cons

You basically have to do a course or a degree to learn just what the buttons are for. Uselessly complicated.

Quickly becoming the industry standard

Reviewed a year ago

Absolutely wonderful. Coming from the days of reel to reel, through the era of the porta series. My world completely opened up. Bringing music to the digital age and the amazing features that it has makes it one of the best if not the best Daw on the market.

Pros

Ease of use, there is a very minimal learning curve and any age can open it and begin making music immediately.

Cons

Sometimes the program crashes but mainly when there is a beta release or you are quick to update the which seems like weekly updates. Gets tiring. Once a year is more than enough.

The All Rounder Audio Production App

Reviewed 2 years ago

I have produced many profitable projects with using FL Studio, the surprise is that there is always something new to learn when using the App.

Pros

FL Studio is extremely useful in several projects, including the making of films, YouTube videos, vocal recording, music creation, etc. The App can be used by people with different levels of expertise. The best application for multimedia use.

Cons

The application has everything you would need in Audio Production, in Mastering of audios.

An excellent software, no complaints

Reviewed 2 years ago

A breeze to use. It just works, and does perfectly what it’s supposed to do. The note editor for example is one of the best in town, the concept is the same as all but FL studio is somehow smoother and easier to use once you learn how to do it. There are better alternatives in theory, but it depends very much on your needs and commitment. Unless you have very specific needs not covered but FL Studio (unlikely), why go overboard with apps that are too complicated even to do the basic stuff when FL Studio just works?

Pros

FL Studio is quite easy to get started with, from deployment to basic config and the first note recorded it is much less overwhelming than other more complicated alternatives. This doesn’t mean that it lacks features, however, especially if you’re into certain kind of music (more towards electronic and such than symphonic or such). Yes, the interface is not perfect and there are alternatives even more powerful, but for the price and mellower learning curve I liked and still like it a lot

Cons

Nothing much really. It works, and is relatively simpler to use (a DAW is never easy though, even doing the basic stuff like recording or writing a note is usually more complicated that it seems). And it does not require the same amount of money or some alternatives to begin with

Awesome Music Production product with advanced functionalities and simple, easy to use interface

Reviewed 4 years ago

My overall experience with FL Studio has been really positive and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to get into music production. It is an inexpensive, easy to learn and quality software to produce your music.

Pros

The thing I like the most about FL studio is the interface and the ease of music production on FL studio. There is a large library of inbuilt samples and plugins which are very helpful. Also, the quality of music is awesome. The price point is inexpensive and can be helpful to anybody to get into music creation. Learning curve is very easy and straightforward.

Cons

The thing I like the least about FL Studio is its handling of advanced features. Using advanced features is little bit hard and requires digging into learning resources. Also, the support is not very helpful most of the times.

Unique workflow, with great tools and free updates!

Reviewed 3 years ago

I've used FL Studio over 15 years in various capacities and it has always been a positive experience. I have however moved my live looping and live recording needs to another DAW, but I always come back to FL Studio for a few things; - Quick startup for experiments and ideas - Scoring to picture / video (Although I may be moving this to another DAW, it still works fine in FLS) - Managing plugins for experiments and sound design (their plugin browser is easy ton configure and customize) -Creation of video / visuals using zGameEditor

Pros

The free updates is by far the most valuable part of FL Studio. Having purchased the software over 9 years ago, I'm get new features and updates for free up to this day. Compared to any other DAW, that's unheard of. Aside from its unique workflow which is quite useful for breaking out of creative blocks, there are a few excellent flexibility options for sound design and composing alike. Patcher, its...

Cons

Live recording is often highlighted as FL Studio's biggest snag point, and after using various other DAWs, its outdated approach isn't as streamlined as its competitors. It is however completely usable and can provide more than enough flexibility to how recording is done, such as through its audio editor "Edison". There are some plugins which have issues with FL Studio, based on the way their buffer requirements are set up, but these are usually configurable from the plugin wrapper and can be resolved.

FL Studio: Easy-to-Use and Good Features for Music Producers

Reviewed a year ago

Amazing experience using FL Studio. I compose primarily using mouse-and-piano roll as my workflow, and this is the only DAW that can do this well. The ease of use has always been a plus for me in this software, and the things you can do are many.I've used this software for composing both Orchestral and EDM music, and it has worked very well for my music. Despite sometimes there are crashes due to a couple incompatible plugins, in general and using a save-every-time handy workflow, it is very dependable.Completely safe to say I recommend this software to anyone.

Pros

MIDI Editing is incredibly fast to do, intuitive, and the provided Piano Roll has many tools to modify, change and control what you make.Audio Editing through Edison, Vocals Editing through NewTone, and Rhythm Editing through NewTime have you covered on many aspects.Automation and the many provided Synths in the software are very easy to use, intuitive and are focused toward productivity.Video preview...

Cons

Certain VST plugins may produce crashes. Saving often can be a good strategy to overcome this.MIDI controller CC adjustements to things such as Volume faders or Knobs is something that is not present and could be nice having, for example in situations where a certain hardware controller knob is producing bad MIDI data due to a fault, limiting the CCs or even disabling them could be useful to have in FL Studio. The default reverb could be improved.

A very capable DAW

Reviewed 2 years ago

Has been my favorite DAW for almost 5 years. The community is very vibrant and resourceful.

Pros

The transient processor has been one of my most used feature in FL Studio for years. It allows to edit beats by being able to separate both the attack and the release section of a beat sample a create a custom sound. It has very easy to use interface with visual aspects and adjusting the split frequency control in the transient processor helps to clean up the low ends of my bass drums. I use Transient processor hand in hand with Fl Studio Newtone which works similarly like Melodyne. The pitch correction ability in Newtone is very capable for both correcting pitch for all notes or just individual notes. Individual notes’ pitch can be adjusted to the selected/desired note on the Piano roll and it snaps automatically to that pitch.

Cons

FL Studio is a very versatile DAW with a lot of potential for any skill level. It can be a bit overwhelming with many features but once one is willing to put in time and learn and understand each of the available features, it is offers a wealth of pleasure and creative possibilities unimagined. There are various variants of FL Studio such Producer or All plugins editions and being able to pick the right one can be challenging for a new user but the community is huge and willing to guide.

Having involved FL Studio throughout the previous 2 years, I can sincerely say FL Studio is the best music creation programming due to its usability and amicable UI. FL Studio's expectation to absorb information isn't generally so steep as Ableton's. FL studio has instructional...

Fl studio: The versatile music production software for every skill level

Reviewed a year ago

I have been able to create entertaining and refreshing music with fl studio. I have also used it to create audio tracks and sound effects for youtube videos. It has enabled me to create my phone ringing tone to express my uniqueness. I have also been able to record and add effects to audio advertisements for radios and televisions

Pros

Its ability to support wide range of third-party plugins including virtual instruments and effects is amazing for me because it makes my sound designing and production to be fun. Moreover its pattern-based sequencing is notable. This feature allows me to create and arrange patterns easily. Its ability to record midi and audio is also powerful. I also love the mixture track routing and grouping because it helps me manage and mix large projects.

Cons

The interface was abit challenging to navigate when I first started using it. Fl studio also has compatibility issues with some plugins and software which is a times frustrating for example apple audio units

A very easy to use DAW

Reviewed 3 years ago

My experience with the software is simple: I've been using it for over 4 years and I've encouraged all my beat maker friends to do the same. I tried to use other software of this type but FL Studio seems to be the best in the field.

Pros

FL Studio is the software that made me fall in love with Beat making! The ease and comprehension of the software is incredible thanks to the pattern system and the piano roll which allow to make audible almost all our ideas. With a powerful enough computer, there are almost no bugs and the very active community behind the software allows us to solve almost any problem without going through the customer support. The connectivity between the mixer and the patterns makes it easier to modify and mix the sound as you wish. The plug-ins already integrated into FL Studio are more than enough to explore all the possibilities, but the fact that many of the flagship plug-ins can be associated with it offers even more possibilities to create.

Cons

The flaws I could find in FL are maybe the sound quality of some instruments and the fact that the integrated drums kit is directly directed towards a particular style of music instead of being more generalized. The integrated software related to the mixing doesn't offer a great quality during this phase of creation either but it remains easy to use for a beginner in the field.

Great Music Production

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

FL is one of the oldest music production tools I know. I have used FL Studio for the past 10 years and what I like most about the application is that it doesn't take much space on my Hard drive, it is easy to use, and it also gives room for you to do a complete production on a single app. That is, you can produce beats, record voice and perfectly mix on it. It also makes it possible for you to import wav and mp3 files.

Cons

I will like it if FL tools like the Pitcher should be upgraded. Because most times, I will need to use extra pluggings in order to fine-tune someone's voice. If the instruments found in Sytrus can also be upgraded then it will be lovely.

FL Studio Overall Review

Reviewed 2 years ago

For me its great. But I took into consideration other users just like me who are have problems using FL studio but other than that I fairly satisfied with the product.

Pros

First of all its easy to get started with and the UI is also so friendly. I'm able to create libraries and organize my sounds with ease. The playlist, piano roll, step sequencer and mixer and also I love a custom plugins like Sakura, 3xOsc and etc... Compared to other DAWs that do not have good synths. The Automation tool is so OP, its easy to shape parameters so that's also one good factor also.

Cons

Overall I have no complaints but maybe a few suggestions. The mixer for one is okay but it's slow switching back and forth and routing here and there. The custom projects that come with it are a little too focused on western music categories I think a few more genres would feel more diverse. Recently I realized a few new effect plugins have been added but the tutorials aren't helpful. Also a friend always had trouble installing third-party plugins and sometimes they don't show in his library as a posed to mine. Please find a way to make this process easier, that's all thank you.

An affordable but professional DAW

Reviewed a year ago

I use the all-plugins bundle which contains every aspect of what this software offers. Totally satisfied with the product, the developers care for their product, also their support is very good. Lifetime free upgrades is a nice unique addition too which is not found on the market from similar products.

Pros

There are many synthesizers and effects to choose from which suit every style of music. Most of the synths are straightforward and easy to use. The playlist and mixer offer big flexibility to make everything as fast as possible. Importing samples and files is easy as well es explorting to different formats. The software comes with lifetime free updgrades.

Cons

For beginners it would be hard to find key features as the software has a unique layout. Some complex synth's layout and labels are very specific and has a deep learning curve. Also the software struggle sometimes with 3rd party VST instruments. Switching to a different software is not so easy

FL Studio helped me in so many different works such as working with artists, making records, sounds, jingles and audio effect for many projects. It helped me in creating shows and mastering vocals, It a good software that is useful in so many ways and different works.

Pros

This software was a real deal for me starting,It is easy to use and it takes not a long time to understand how it works and many thing within the software. All the instrument with in the software are magical the effect of the software the same thing too,i like how the work flow is organised with in the software so that you know where every instrument is located, how to insert them and where the effects are inserted.i like that it so easy to insert other plugins in the software in order to achieve your dream project.i like the recording tools and the Edison one of the pest tool to sample songs.

Cons

This software is amazing but it is somehow hard to drive buses of effects in channels of the mixer section and to pan effect and actual vocals comparing to other music production software but i think that is regarding to the version of the product some one is using. It was hard for me to understand how to operate the side chaining work flow on the mixer too but as you use it you get to understand how it work.

This has helped my my music advance a lot. i just have ssues with the recording part especially the pitch corrector. If it could be the exact voice i put in that give the play back it will be great.

Pros

This is a very user friendly beat making and even recording software, equipped with thousands of sound banks and plugins that make beat making really easy and fun. With it's channel rack, you really don't need a piano to make beats.

Cons

Some work still has to be done on the recording side of the program like it's pitch corrector. It is a lot of work to pitch correct singing vocals in fl studio.

Best Piano Roll Ever

Reviewed a year ago

I love using FL Studio. I tried to use other DAW, but FL Studio is more convenient. I recommend FL users learn mixing and mastering. Moreover, FL Studio is the best DAW to originate a new sound.

Pros

FL Studio has several unique features, but Piano Roll is the most liked feature. I have been using FL Studio since 2013 and produced kinds of music. I did not use any external MIDI. Just by using Piano Roll, I make many kinds of music. Therefore, any new user doesn't have to learn external musical equipment such as Piano and Guitar, Piano Roll is more than enough.

Cons

The sound bank in FL Studio is good enough for professionals since they mix it and make it good. In contrast, beginners must look for better Plugins. However, the newer version of FL Studio has a better libraries.

Once I became good at using the software everything I made was high quality and market worthy. It is the best.

Pros

This software is the best at making music even though you have to add third party plug-ins. The interface is literally the best and some features are at the convenient locations. There are infinite features and tools I discovered many things everyday for a long time and that was fun. Great software.

Cons

Adding third party plug-ins can be a nightmare sometimes. They may not appear at the location you expect.
