What is Pear Deck?
Pear Deck is a cloud-based student engagement platform that enables schools to organize synchronous and asynchronous classes for remote students, enhance group discussions, and track participation in real-time. Features include presentation streaming, screen locking, a countdown timer, and team communication.
The application helps teachers create courses and assessments with interactive questions, polls, or quizzes and aggregate and sort candidate responses for review. Students can join sessions anonymously through a link received via email and add answers to questions while navigating the slides. Using the instructor-paced session mode, mentors can control the pace of slides, collect and display candidates' replies in real-time, and save session decks for upcoming classes.
Pear Deck offers integration with various third-party applications such as Gmail, Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, Schoology, Canvas, and more. The dashboard helps mentors evaluate answers, hide or highlight responses in projector view, and provide individual feedback to candidates. Using Takeaways, teachers can leave comments in editable Google Docs and allow students to view their submitted answers.
