Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

BucketBooks overview
What is BucketBooks?
BucketBooks is a settlement native bookkeeping solution designed for Amazon and Walmart marketplace sellers. The platform addresses the challenge of reconciling settlement reports that combine gross sales, refunds, fees, reserves and taxes into net payouts that traditional general ledgers cannot align with bank deposits. It targets sole proprietors and S corporations that require filing-ready financial records without the complexity and cost of maintaining multiple subscriptions.
The software operates through a three-step workflow starting with read-only bank account connection via Plaid, followed by manual import of settlement report files from marketplaces, and concluding with rule-based and AI-assisted transaction categorization and reconciliation. It separates marketplace fees from gross sales, tracks refunds and adjustments independently, and matches each net settlement to its corresponding bank deposit with exact precision. Each classification decision is accompanied by an explanation and requires user review before entries are posted to maintain accuracy and transparency.
BucketBooks employs a per-tenant isolated database architecture so that each business receives its own dedicated ledger rather than sharing table space with other users. Transaction data is encrypted at rest and complete export functionality is provided in both database and flat file formats. Export access remains available even after account cancellation to ensure that data can be retained or transferred according to business requirements.
The platform currently supports settlement report imports through manual file uploads and indicates forthcoming support for direct marketplace feeds. Banking institutions connect exclusively through a read-only protocol that permits viewing deposits and transaction history without any ability to move funds. The software organizes financial data into entity-aware tax categories for sole proprietors and S corporations and does not integrate with tax preparation tools or provide tax advice. Payment processing is handled through a secure gateway and credit card information is not stored by the platform.
