Chat Thing overview

What is Chat Thing?

Chat Thing is a cloud-based, no-code AI chatbot platform that enables businesses to build AI assistants trained on their own content, including websites, PDFs, Notion pages, CSVs, YouTube channels, RSS feeds, and more. Bots deploy simultaneously across website chat widgets, Slack, WhatsApp, Discord, Telegram, email, and a public REST API, with no developer involvement required. Setup takes approximately five minutes, and a single line of code embeds the widget on any website, including WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, and custom-built sites. Used by 10,000+ companies, the platform serves businesses of all sizes across SaaS, fintech, education, real estate, manufacturing, professional services, and e-commerce.

Answers are grounded in retrieval-augmented generation, pulling responses from the business's own knowledge base rather than general model knowledge, which reduces hallucination risk. Users select from a range of large language models per bot, including options from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, Cohere, and Meta. Response tone, creativity (temperature), colors, and logos are all configurable per bot. Bots train in one language and respond in 50+ languages. Scheduled data syncing ensures only new or changed content consumes storage tokens, keeping bot answers current without manual updates. Markdown responses support images, links, and code blocks, while display modes include cards, charts, tables, maps, and Mermaid diagrams.

Beyond question-answering, Chat Thing supports a library of actions called power-ups: CRM saves, meeting scheduling, live web browsing, human agent handoff and takeover, order status lookups, form completion, cart additions, and REST API calls against external systems. Conversation analytics, powered by AI, surface topic analysis, sentiment scoring, engagement metrics, common questions, and ranked improvement recommendations. Searchable conversation history with shareable links and thumbs-up/down feedback helps teams identify documentation gaps. Flat monthly pricing ($49-$299/month) carries no per-resolution fees, no per-seat caps, and no overage charges. Customer data is never used to train AI models.
