ClassLens is a cloud-based AI grading assistant built for K-12 teachers and school districts operating within Google Workspace for Education. Accessed via web browser or the Google Workspace Marketplace, it connects directly to Google Classroom through Google OAuth and Google APIs. For each assignment, ClassLens evaluates student submissions point-by-point against teacher-uploaded or built-in rubric criteria, generating a score and individualized written feedback per student. Accepted file types include documents, PDFs, images, and uploaded audio or video files; handwritten responses are read and graded with the same fidelity as typed text. Grading behavior is configurable per assignment type, with settings for strictness level, comment style, feedback length, and late work policy. Two AI model tiers, standard and advanced, are selectable per grading job. AI inference runs on Google Cloud Vertex AI, enrolled in Zero Data Retention at the project level with no prompt logging.

Teacher control is enforced at every stage through two review modes. Draft Only saves grades as Google Classroom drafts for teacher release at any time. Grade and Review holds grades in an in-app Batch Review Dashboard, where teachers can inspect, edit, and release results in bulk. No grade or comment reaches a student without an explicit teacher action. Beyond individual assignments, ClassLens produces Knowledge Gap Reports, class-wide aggregate views of which concepts students missed, broken down by assignment and period, giving teachers actionable data for targeted reteaching. Grades and feedback can be exported to a teacher-owned Google Sheet. Individual teacher plans are available; district licensing is offered on a per-student, per-year basis for organization-wide rollout. ClassLens is FERPA and COPPA compliant by design, SOC 2 Type I attested, Google CASA Tier 2 verified, and a CISA K-12 Secure by Design Pledge signatory. Student data is never stored on vendor servers, used for advertising, profiling, or AI model training.
