Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

DevDock overview
What is DevDock?
DevDock is a local-first Windows desktop application that consolidates software project management into a single sidebar-organized workspace. Designed for individual developers and small development teams, it keeps all project context together: saved commands with run history, guided Git workflows, Docker Compose environments, database tools, project health checks, and local security audits. Project data remains on the device at all times, with no source code uploaded to external services. Available on the Microsoft Store, DevDock supports a free tier for up to three local projects and a one-time Pro purchase for unlimited projects and advanced features.
Each project workspace groups folders, technology labels, saved commands, run history, health indicators, and tooling under one logical unit. Multi-folder projects allow frontend, backend, mobile, and other separately located repositories to be registered under a single project. Guided Git workflows surface branch and remote state, enforce stash protection during branch switches, and provide pull-before-push recovery. The Docker Compose manager discovers services, ports, profiles, health status, volume mounts, and distinguishes host-versus-container command execution. Database tooling covers schema inspection, validated read-only record lookups (up to 200 rows), migration review, table diagnostics, and confirmed native backups for SQLite, MySQL/MariaDB, and PostgreSQL. A read-only local security audit scans registered folders for exposed credentials, private keys, tracked sensitive files, escaping symlinks, unsafe permissions, and missing dependency lockfiles, with sensitive values withheld from display.
Command search spans names, descriptions, technology labels, executables, arguments, identifiers, and working directories across all registered projects. The Today view surfaces recent projects and saved daily workflows for fast re-entry. Secret custom-task environment values are stored in Windows Credential Manager rather than in plain project files. Run history and health checks are maintained per project, giving development teams a persistent, reconstructable record of project state without manual documentation overhead.
