Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

ediFabric overview
What is ediFabric?
EdiFabric is an Electronic Data Interchange toolkit that enables software developers to translate, validate and parse EDI documents within applications across multiple programming environments. The platform supports businesses and development teams in healthcare, supply chain management, retail, automotive and financial sectors requiring automated transaction processing. EdiFabric offers three runtime options: Dot Net, Native and Cloud. The solution handles several EDI standards including X twelve, HIPAA, EDIFACT, HL seven, NCPDP SCRIPT, VDA, TRADACOMS and custom flat-file formats.
The platform enables bidirectional translation between positional EDI formats and structured data representations. The Dot Net runtime is a managed C Sharp library distributed via NuGet packages for Dot Net Core and Dot Net Framework environments. It converts EDI documents into typed Dot Net objects for programmatic manipulation. The Native runtime comprises platform-specific libraries for Windows, Linux and macOS that expose functionality through a C Application Binary Interface. It integrates with C, C plus plus, Rust, Go, Python, Node Dot Js, Java and Dot Net applications. This implementation translates EDI to structured JSON with named fields that follow an OpenEDI specification. The Cloud runtime delivers REST API access to all supported EDI standards and can be deployed as a hosted service or self-hosted on customer infrastructure.
Validation capabilities include checks against formal specifications including HIPAA version five zero one zero and version four zero one zero. Configurable SNIP validation levels from first through fourth determine the depth of compliance checks. Failures generate detailed error reports indicating specific issues. The toolkit supports partner-specific format definitions via OpenEDI, SEF or JSON templates and Dot Net class attributes that define required elements, code sets and custom validation rules. It also handles splitting and merging of large EDI files with automatic trailer generation and generates functional acknowledgments such as X twelve nine nine, nine nine seven and TA one as well as EDIFACT CONTRL acknowledgments. JSON output adheres to a published schema to enable contract-first workflows, client generation and request validation.
Both the Dot Net and Native implementations execute within the host process to ensure that EDI data and Protected Health Information remain within the network boundary. The Cloud API also supports self-hosting to maintain data residency. The toolkit integrates with Entity Framework for direct persistence to relational databases. Cross-platform compatibility extends to container deployments and major cloud infrastructure providers. The solution includes over ten thousand prebuilt EDI templates and an approved listing in the United States Department of Veterans Affairs Technical Reference Model. Comprehensive documentation, sample projects and code examples accompany the platform to support integration and deployment.
