InTrack is a materials to job cost system for trade contractors running 5 to 30 field staff. It answers one question that shop level inventory tools and tool trackers do not: what did this job actually consume, and what did that cost.

How it works. The unit of record is a checkout event, not a periodic count. When material leaves the shop, truck or gang box, a crew member scans the item barcode, taps the job, and confirms quantity. That event writes the material cost against the job immediately, so budgets reflect reality while the job is still running rather than at closeout. Receiving, adjustments and transfers are the same kind of event, which is why the history reconciles instead of drifting.

Core functions. Barcode and QR scanning using the device camera, no dedicated hardware required. Master catalog with cost, unit, category, location, distributor, reorder point and reorder quantity per SKU. Multi location stock with transfers between shops, trucks and yards on the Enterprise tier. Purchase orders raised against a job and received back into stock. Pick lists built ahead of a job, including an inbound email intake that turns an emailed list into a pick list. Cycle counts. Job budgets with estimate versus actual, spend by category and by crew, and consumption flags that surface jobs burning material faster than comparable jobs did.

Access and roles. Role based permissions separate the field from the office. The crew checkout screen is deliberately minimal and shows no dollar figures, which is both a speed decision and a wage sensitivity one. Back office roles see cost, budgets and reporting. Every stock movement is written to an append only ledger with the user, timestamp, quantity and job attached, so who took what is a lookup rather than an argument.

Deployment and specs. InTrack is a cloud hosted installable web app, a PWA, which installs to the home screen on iPhone and Android and runs in any modern desktop browser. There is no app store download and no MDM package to approve, so a shop can be live the same day. Data is hosted in the United States on managed Postgres with daily backups. Sessions are authenticated per user with multi factor available.

Data in and out, stated honestly. Catalog import is by CSV or Excel using a provided template, which is how a QuickBooks item export gets in. Exports are CSV. Pick lists can arrive by email to a per company address. InTrack does not currently publish a customer facing API, and it does not maintain a live accounting integration with QuickBooks Online or any other ledger. If a two way accounting sync is a requirement for you, that is worth knowing before a trial rather than after.

Pricing is flat monthly for the whole crew rather than per seat: Starter at $99 per month for up to 10 users at one location, Pro at $249 per month for unlimited users, Enterprise at $499 per month for unlimited users across multiple locations.
