Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

Meridian by DHS Africa overview
What is Meridian by DHS Africa?
Meridian by DHS Africa is a modular, cloud-based hospital management system built for hospitals, clinics, hospital networks, NGO health programmes, and government health systems across Sub-Saharan Africa, with active deployments in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, and several additional markets. The platform unifies registration, consultation, laboratory, pharmacy, billing, insurance claims, and government reporting on a single shared patient record visible across all care points simultaneously. Certified by Kenya's Digital Health Agency and with SHA built in, Meridian by DHS Africa is GDPR-aligned and FHIR-compatible, hosted on EU-based infrastructure, and carries a full audit log on every read, write, AI call, and access event exportable for ministry inspections and donor reviews.
The platform is composed from a library of over 30 reusable modules configured per deployment: a rural clinic can activate eight modules while a large hospital network can run twenty or more. Core modules cover reception and check-in queues, doctor consultation views, laboratory orders and results, pharmacy prescriptions and stock management, telemedicine (video and asynchronous), billing, public and private insurance claims, community health worker field workflows, maternal health (antenatal and postnatal), appointments and reminders, and longitudinal EMR with bridging to existing records. Five inbound patient channels (WhatsApp, USSD, SMS, phone callback, and walk-in desk) feed a single organised case queue, and mobile money integrations (M-Pesa, MTN MoMo, Airtel Money) unify cash, mobile money, and insurance payment flows at reception. Multi-language support spans English, Swahili, Luganda, French, and Arabic.
Meridian by DHS Africa is offline-first by default: each device retains a local copy of required data and syncs with the cloud when connectivity is restored, allowing uninterrupted operation through intermittent power and connectivity without data loss. An AI layer, trained on African healthcare data covering local disease patterns, national treatment guidelines, and locally stocked medicines, structures inbound patient messages into clinician-ready case briefs in approximately fifteen seconds; a named clinician reviews and approves every AI output before it touches the patient record. AI can be enabled or disabled per workflow and per deployment. Operational reporting on case volume, staff load, and appointment reliability is exportable for board, ministry, and donor use. DHS Africa handles data migration, system setup, and staff training.
