Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

NorthOS overview
What is NorthOS?
NorthOS is bookkeeping and tax software for Canadian sole proprietors, freelancers, and side hustlers - the people who file a T2125 rather than a corporate return.
Where general bookkeeping tools are organized around a chart of accounts, NorthOS is organized around the CRA's own forms. Expenses are categorized to their correct T2125 line at the moment you enter them, so year end becomes an export instead of a reconciliation.
It watches the numbers that decide your filings: rolling four-quarter revenue against the GST/HST $30,000 registration threshold, the Quick Method remittance across all 13 provinces and territories, and provincial sales tax in BC, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
Bank and credit card feeds import transactions automatically into a review queue, and nothing reaches your books until you approve it. Receipts can be scanned in the app or pulled in from Google Drive. North, the built-in AI assistant, proposes actions such as logging an expense or issuing an invoice and waits for your confirmation.
Built in Ontario and hosted in Canada. $12 CAD per month or $119 CAD per year, with a 14-day free trial that does not ask for a credit card.
