Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

PageLantern overview
What is PageLantern?
PageLantern is a cloud-based SaaS monitoring platform that checks websites, APIs, SSL certificates, domain expiry, DNS records, heartbeat URLs, and scheduled jobs from the outside, with no server-side installation required. Checks run externally against customer-owned or authorized targets, opening incidents automatically on failure, routing alerts across Email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Webhooks, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, and SMS, and publishing results to public status pages. Targeted at founders, platform teams, developers, managed service providers, and agencies that need external availability monitoring without adopting a full enterprise observability suite, PageLantern offers tiered plans for solo users, small teams, and operating teams, with check intervals ranging from 5 minutes on the Free plan down to 30 seconds for critical checks on the Team plan.
Feature depth scales across monitoring types: website monitoring tracks status codes, redirects, response latency, and expected page content; API monitoring supports custom method and body checks, JSONPath assertions, JSON schema validation, multi-step API checks with step variable extraction, HAR export, OpenAPI import, and Postman import; DNS checks include nameserver drift detection; and browser checks are available on Starter and Team plans. Incident lifecycle management covers open, acknowledge, resolve, and reopen states, with configurable failure and recovery thresholds and maintenance windows to reduce false-positive noise. Monitor grouping by service, workspace, customer, owner, or environment supports multi-tenant and agency workflows. The Team plan adds an audit log, postmortems and reports, and role-based access control, while the Starter plan includes RBAC and 1-minute check intervals.
Operational transparency is a core design principle: status, history, diagnostics, and incident data are surfaced alongside audit history and monitor settings so teams can act without guesswork. Setup is accelerated through a Quick Wizard and starter templates. Data collection is scoped to what is needed to run checks, deliver alerts, secure the service, and maintain operational evidence, with security-by-design handling of secrets, API keys, sessions, and audit events.
