Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

Planeto overview
What is Planeto?
Planeto is an AI-powered software platform built for utilities, engineering offices, energy planners, and municipalities that design, build, and operate district heating and cooling (DHC) networks. It replaces the scattered spreadsheets, GIS exports, and back-and-forth emails that typically slow down network planning with a single collaborative model where every stakeholder works from the same data.
With Planeto, teams start by analyzing the building stock in a target area, using advanced clustering to identify which buildings make the most sense to connect based on CO2 emissions or power consumption. From there, users can create and compare up to five different network scenarios side by side, each with its own mix of energy sources — geothermal, solar thermal, waste heat recovery, or booster heat pumps — to find the design that best balances cost, carbon impact, and feasibility.
Once a scenario is selected, Planeto's hydraulic simulation engine handles pipe sizing and network optimization, while built-in financial modeling automatically calculates CAPEX, OPEX, and ROI with full cash flow projections. All calculations follow SIA 384/6 2021 standards, so outputs are normative-compliant and ready to support permitting and financing conversations. Advanced reporting tools then turn the finished design into tender-ready documentation, cutting weeks out of the traditional planning process.
Because the platform is built for collaboration, engineers, utilities, and municipal stakeholders can share data, track changes, and align on decisions in one place instead of managing versions across email threads. The result is a faster, more transparent path from early feasibility studies to shovel-ready 5th generation district heating and cooling (5GDHC) projects — helping organizations meet decarbonization targets without sacrificing technical rigor or slowing down delivery.
Planeto is developed by a Swiss energy engineering team based in Plan-les-Ouates, combining deep domain expertise in thermal networks with modern software design, and is available as both a standalone software license and paired with professional energy engineering services for teams that want additional support.
