Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

SafeGrd overview
What is SafeGrd?
SafeGrd is a self-hosted backup agent that delivers encrypted, immutable backups for databases, files, and mail to user-owned S3-compatible object storage. Deployable via an install script or as a container image from ghcr.io/safegrd/cli, the daemon targets developers and engineering teams running workloads on cloud and self-hosted platforms including Hetzner, DigitalOcean, Fly.io, Render, Railway, Supabase, Neon, Heroku, Coolify, and Amazon RDS. Supported data sources include PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, file systems, and mail.
Backups are written under S3 Object Lock using write-only storage credentials, meaning the backup agent cannot delete its own snapshots, and neither can an attacker who obtains those credentials. An init command verifies Object Lock status on the target bucket before the first backup runs, and a doctor command audits bucket lock configuration and credential permissions on enrolled hosts, catching misconfigured infrastructure before it becomes a liability. An export command copies snapshots to a second bucket, encrypted and locked, supporting cross-region and cross-provider redundancy strategies.
SafeGrd addresses a critical gap in cron-based backup approaches: verification. Scheduled restore drills automatically confirm that stored backups are actually recoverable, and failure alerts notify teams of missed or broken backup runs. Additional capabilities include AI agents, Threat Shield, and backup controls. Together these features give teams auditable confidence in backup integrity and recoverability without relying on manual spot-checks.
