Satelife Wildfire Risk Report overview

What is Satelife Wildfire Risk Report?

Satelife is a property risk intelligence platform. It scores individual properties and communities — not zones, not ZIP codes — and shows its work. Enter an address; Satelife pulls the relevant geospatial and meteorological layers, runs them through its RiskEngine, and returns an auditable report in minutes. No site visit, no black box.

Wildfire is the peril shipping today. Flood is next. The architecture is deliberately multi-peril: every hazard is a workflow on the same engine, sharing the same scoring, explainability and delivery. Adopt Satelife for one risk; get the next without onboarding a new vendor.

Tools available now

Wildfire Risk Report (property) — 0–100 score, factor-by-factor breakdown, costed mitigation plan, insurer-ready PDF + structured JSON.

Wildfire Prepared Home Readiness — free. A pre-application check against the IBHS Wildfire Prepared standard (Essential and Enhanced/WPH+): per-requirement status, open gaps and an evidence pack built from imagery, guided photos and uploaded documents. Saves roughly $150 of prep and non-refundable application spend.

Neighborhood / Community Report — village, HOA or municipal scale: risk hotspots, structure-separation clusters, egress capacity, fire-truck response ETAs, prioritized mitigation budget.

Evacuation Plan Editor — an interactive map editor where a planner and an AI copilot build an evacuation plan using USFA/FEMA methodology: evacuation zones, egress routes, temporary refuge areas, traffic control points, contraflow segments, decision points, assembly points. A deterministic 19-rule checklist validates the plan and the AI explains each gap. Exports a USFA-structured PDF.

What the engine analyzes (wildfire)

Weighted layers composed into one 0–100 score (Low/Moderate/High/Very High):

Hazard — official classifications (e.g. CAL FIRE FHSZ) or proxies

Terrain — elevation, slope and aspect

Vegetation & fuels — land cover, fuel continuity, proximity from satellite imagery

Defensible space — combustible exposure by zone (0–5 / 5–30 / 30–100 ft)

Home hardening — visible structural vulnerability, ember-resistance observations

Fire history — nearby perimeters, distance and recency

Weather — temperature, RH, precipitation, drought, fire-weather indices

Wind — wind rose, gust climatology, Santa Ana / Diablo events

Access & egress — road accessibility, response ETA, evacuation constraints

Infrastructure exposure — utility, water and energy proximity

Every layer is traceable to its source. Flood layers (elevation, hydrology, historical inundation) plug into the same frame.

Deployment

Cloud-based — nothing to install, any modern browser, desktop/tablet/mobile. Three access modes: the web app; dashboards (broker, HOA/community, municipal — portfolio scoring, branded delivery, mitigation tracking); and a REST API with JSON + PDF retrieval, key-based auth and async job polling, so scores flow into your CRM or underwriting workbench.

Data and methodology

Built on public authoritative sources (CAL FIRE, USFS, USGS, NOAA, Copernicus, OpenStreetMap and others), with opt-in premium layers quoted up front. Regional adapters run the same engine against California, the EU and other geographies with locally correct hazard definitions. Methodology is documented. Satelife assesses risk factors; it does not claim to predict events.

Security and privacy

Encrypted in transit and at rest, role-based access, scoped API keys, audit-ready report provenance. Analysis uses remote sensing and public data — no in-home inspection.

Who it's for

Insurance brokers and agents, homeowners and buyers, HOAs, real-estate professionals, property managers, municipal emergency-management teams.
