Security Reporter overview

What is Security Reporter?

Security Reporter is a self-hosted penetration testing reporting workspace deployed via Docker Compose, designed for security firms and enterprise security teams that require full on-premises control over sensitive assessment data. The platform provides a structured environment for running engagements end-to-end: guiding researchers through assessments, documenting findings with reusable templates, scoring vulnerabilities with CVSS 4.0 (and earlier versions), and generating tamper-proof, branded PDF reports with multi-language support. A management summary report generation feature and an online client portal allow findings to be shared and downloaded directly by clients, while a retest workflow tracks vulnerability remediation progress. Built-in checklist templates aligned to OWASP Top 10, PCI DSS, OWASP ASVS, and SANS guidelines support compliance-oriented engagements across regulated industries including financial services, healthcare, and government.

Security Reporter integrates with external security tooling by importing scan output from Nessus, Qualys, Nmap, and Burp Suite, and connects to project management and BI platforms including Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, and PowerBI via REST API and webhooks. No-code automation is available through n8n and Zapier. An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server exposes over 100 tools covering the full assessment lifecycle, enabling AI agents and assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT, self-hosted AI models, and developer environments such as Cursor and Visual Studio Code to work directly with assessment data. Enterprise identity and access management is supported through SCIM provisioning for Microsoft Entra ID and Okta, SAML2 and 2FA authentication, and role-based access control spanning researcher, reviewer, project manager, and account manager roles. Additional capabilities include version control with diff functionality, an analytics dashboard with per-client filtering, assessment duplication for recurring engagements, schedule export to Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook, and custom fields with flexible finding and report layouts. The vendor holds ISO 27001 certification.
