Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

SmishAlert overview
What is SmishAlert?
Phishing moved to the phone. Most security stacks did not follow it. Email gateways, EDR and secure web gateways all sit somewhere the message never travels, so a text impersonating an executive, a payroll notice or a delivery exception reaches the employee with nothing in front of it.
SmishAlert is mobile social engineering defense. It gives an organization three capabilities on one evidence base.
Protect. On iOS, messages from unknown senders are screened before anyone taps. Classification runs on the device, and senders already in the user's contacts are never screened. Unknown Guard adds off-device analysis of unknown-sender messages, which are analyzed to produce a verdict and are not retained.
Report. Anything the screening layer cannot reach is one tap away from a report. iMessage, WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, Messenger, social DMs and even a suspicious post can be reported by screenshot or share sheet from any iPhone or Android device. If someone can screenshot it, they can report it. Every report comes back with a plain verdict and next steps, which turns reporting into training on a real attack rather than a quarterly module.
Understand. Reports from across your own population correlate into campaigns in the web console, so a security team sees one coordinated campaign instead of forty disconnected tickets. Campaign Intelligence is scoped to your organization. Exposure events are available to your SIEM over a JSON API.
Deployment. SmishAlert is a lightweight iOS and Android app. Managed fleets deploy it through MDM (Jamf, Intune, Android Enterprise) with managed configuration and zero-touch enrollment, so there is no user action at all. BYOD users install from the App Store or Google Play and activate with a per-user enrollment code. Both postures report into the same console.
Privacy and claim boundaries. On personal and BYOD devices the scan happens on the device and nothing leaves the phone. Messages from senders already in someone's contacts are never screened, in any posture. SmishAlert identifies evidence of risk, it does not authenticate third-party communications, and verdicts are stated plainly: likely fraudulent, suspicious, no clear signs of fraud detected, or we cannot determine this confidently.
Who it is for. Security and IT leaders in financial services, higher education, healthcare and HR or payroll technology, where executive impersonation and payroll diversion are the recurring patterns and where a meaningful share of the workforce carries a personal phone.
