Stencil AI - 2026 Pricing, Features, Reviews & Alternatives

Stencil AI is AI-powered stencil creation software built for professional tattoo artists and studios. It converts any reference photo - a portrait, an animal, a sketch, or a fully rendered design - into a clean, tattoo-ready stencil in 30 to 60 seconds, replacing hours of manual tracing.

Artists choose between three stencil styles depending on their technique: Outline for bold, simplified linework; Standard for grouped shading and efficient sessions; and Hatching, a precise shadow tracker built for realism and hyperrealism work.

Beyond generation, Stencil AI includes a full retouch studio for erasing, lightening or darkening lines, removing solid fills, and tracing over the original photo (Apple Pencil supported). True-to-size printing outputs stencils at their exact real-world dimensions via AirPrint or size-accurate PDF, with multi-stencil sheet layouts. Body-warp printing bends a stencil along shoulders, arms, and other curves so it lies flat on skin, and on LiDAR-equipped iPhones artists can measure directly on the body and use that measurement as the print size.

Stencils sync across iPhone, iPad, Android, and the web. Studio teams manage multiple artist seats from a shared dashboard, and every stencil comes with a full commercial license. Stencil AI is made by Stencil Labs in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and is trusted by more than 5,000 paying tattoo artists worldwide.
