Thunkable is a cloud-based, no-code platform that allows individuals, startups, educators, and business teams to build and publish native iOS and Android mobile apps without writing code. Users describe an app idea in plain language and the AI Builder generates a complete, editable project including screens, UI elements, and logic. For users who want lower-level control, direct code edits are also supported. Finished apps publish to the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and as web apps from within a single platform.
The platform consolidates multiple AI-assisted tools through the Omnibar, an in-editor hub that surfaces StyleAI for screen redesign, AI Debugger for identifying logic issues, AI Chat Helper for general assistance, and a Rewrite This tool for refining copy. Discuss Mode provides a conversational AI assistant for project planning, troubleshooting, and guided code changes. Native device capabilities including camera, sensors, Bluetooth, geolocation, offline use, push notifications, and maps are accessible as components. OpenAI integration enables natural language generation and image generation within apps built on the platform, while image recognition and speech recognition are available as embeddable components. Version History supports saving, reviewing, and restoring past project states, and Fast Edits allow lightweight changes without a full rebuild.
Thunkable serves a broad audience: individual creators, non-technical founders, solopreneurs, designers, students, and product teams extending existing products to mobile. Education plans are available for students, teachers, and school districts, with dedicated support for K-12, higher education, and computer science curriculum.
