What is VATES?
VATES is an embeddable B2B AI platform available in two ways: as a self-serve widget you can add to any website with a single script tag, or as a developer-grade API you integrate directly into your own product — comparable in category to infrastructure providers like Stripe or Twilio, applied to AI-powered knowledge retrieval.
Architecture: VATES runs on ES-IFM, a proprietary structured plain-text knowledge format. Instead of pre-computing and retrieving vector embeddings, VATES reconstructs each answer from context at query time, using a three-role pipeline:
- Bard — converts text, documents, and images into structured knowledge entries (EchoScripts).
- Druid — manages the knowledge base: search, edit, delete, and query using natural language, along with mathematical notation, logical symbols, or code.
- Vates — delivers the final answer to the end user, in their language, from the current context.
Integration options:
- Self-serve widget: one script tag, no build step, live the same day.
- REST API: full programmatic access to instances, knowledge, and settings, authenticated with an API key.
- MCP (Model Context Protocol) with OAuth 2.1: connects VATES to AI agents such as Claude Desktop.

- Multilingual by default — the same knowledge base answers in the user's language automatically, with a 23-language console UI.
