watch.diy overview

What is watch.diy?

watch.diy is a cloud-based retail intelligence platform built for brand manufacturers operating in the German DIY trade channel. It observes listing status, shelf prices, and in-store stock availability for a brand's own SKUs and competitor articles across all 1,400+ locations of Hornbach, OBI, Bauhaus, toom, hagebau and Globus Baumarkt — every day, per store, without relying on panel samples or retailer-supplied point-of-sale data. Target users include key account management, pricing, sales, and assortment teams selling into German DIY retail across product groups such as cordless power tools, hand tools, garden, and fixings.

watch.diy organizes observed data into four core workflows. KAM Preparation auto-generates a pre-meeting briefing covering listing gaps, competitor listings, and distribution changes since the last retailer meeting. Price Monitoring tracks a configurable watchlist of own and competitor SKUs, flags price changes, and identifies promotional pricing periods. Regional Out-of-Stock Detection aggregates daily store-level stock by federal state and postal region, triggering cluster alerts by email when systematic patterns emerge. The Quarterly Report is auto-generated on the first business day of each quarter and delivers market share, distribution, price index, and top listing and price movements as PDF and Excel — without manual compilation. Sell-out estimates (unit volume and revenue per SKU, store, and day) are derived algorithmically from observed stock levels, covering both own and competitor articles without requiring retailer POS data. The platform covers 80 to 500 SKUs per brand, with historical data for Hornbach, OBI, and Bauhaus from March 2026 and toom from June 2026.

watch.diy is hosted in Frankfurt and is GDPR-compliant. Data is accessible via in-platform dashboards and exports in Excel, CSV, and PDF formats, with API access available on request. Onboarding completes within five business days, with no setup fees, no volume caps on users or exports, and all six retailers visible within a single unified view.
