EasyOrg provides a task management and note taking solution for Mac, Windows and Linux. It uses plain text-files to store the data and it is stored using org mode syntax. It is meant as an easier to use alternative to Emacs org mode. Or if you are used to write down notes and to-do-tasks in a plain text-file, but want a bit more structure, then EasyOrg might be a good solution.

In addition to an editor with org syntax highlighting, EasyOrg also provides powerful Agenda, Calendar and Table views. It allows for showing your tasks based on scheduled dates and deadlines, priorities, tags, effort and more. A powerful search/filter system is available which has search expressions targeted at org mode which allows for creating custom Agenda views. Search in only one file, or search in all opened files.

A document Previewer is provided which lets you print to paper or save to pdf. The text is styled according to the org mode markup. The Table view allows for calculations of the task's org properties which can be useful when tracking time worked and billing. You can do additions and multiplications of the rows and columns.

EasyOrg also supports org tables and calc like spreadsheet calculations in the org mode tables. Linking between tasks within each file and to tasks in other files is supported. This makes it easy to reference data in other tasks and in other files. It also allows for creating a basic Personal Knowledge Management system. EasyOrg is ideal for working on personal projects and keeping track of your personal and professional administration.

Your files are stored on your local machine, but you can also stored them in the cloud with whatever cloud storage or file sync solution you already use today. Thanks to the data being stored in text-files on your computer, the backup system you already have in place will also backup your EasyOrg files automatically.

For extra data integrity, EasyOrg provides a built in file versioning tool which, if activated, saves older versions of your files and you can look at the diff between the current file and the timestamped older versions. Many more features and functionality are supported, such as export to CSV, autosave, find in files throughout the file system and embedded images.
