It has everything! Ease of use, streamlined communication, lots of storage. Who needs Microsoft Office or OneDrive?
I like the fact that it's easy to share files with everyone on the staff, anything we need is right there stored safely.
I have no complaints about Google Drive, I truly enjoy working with it, and so does the rest of the staff.

Overall, Google Docs is a great cloud-based tool for text documents.
Google Docs makes document collaboration (and the whole Google Suite) a lot easier compared to Microsoft OneDrive.
After using Microsoft Word for so many years not everything is the same within Docs which can be frustrating but easily overcome.

It is super easy to edit documents with multiple users with very fast saving speed. Plus sharing links is easy to do.
I use OneDrive for all Microsoft documents and then end up using Google docs for more collaborative efforts.

Our office uses Google Docs to transfer notes from management to workers and back to management. It has helped our communication immensely.
This software is easy to understand and use and view documents. I like the sharing option for others to work on my documents also, which helps my office work efficiently.
The software, and most online software, lags when a document is opened but is way faster than Onedrive by Microsoft.

Having documents easily accessible across multiple devices in multiple locations by multiple parties is a huge add to any business.
Good Docs is a great way to share files to different parties and allow live editing from multiple people. It's easy to see who is currently viewing the document and / or making changes, meaning you aren't accidentally overwriting them.
I have no complaints about Google Docs. I prefer this software over OneDrive products because the functionality makes more sense.

Google Docs was the first cloud-based office system that I used. It got me started with working on documents, etc. online, vs. working only in a desktop environment. My experience was positive overall, but I needed a platform with more functionality, so I moved to a different cloud-based platform.
Google Docs makes it easy to work anywhere. Open a browser and begin working on documents, spreadsheets, etc. Files are easily stored in the Google cloud for safety and easy sharing.
Google Docs is not nearly as functional as OneDrive. That's not to say that it isn't good. It's just not as good.

The best part of Google docs is the quality of service with no fear of loss. The trust factor is so high that nobody ever creates a back up of Google Docs because of their reliability.
There are a lot of editing features on this which are missing. This is in comparison to the Microsoft Word on OneDrive.

Your documents saved in real time as you adjust them and available anywhere you have internet! Share only with whom you wish. Safe for confidential document security as well!
Docs will never be Microsoft WORD the staple of such tools, however Googles Cloud Infrastructure is much more user-friendly and versatile than OneDrive

I am fairly statisfied with Google Docs, however MS Word is still the better app when it comes to document creation & editing. MS still wins here :)
It's FREEEEE & It has a good balance between desktop solutions "aka : Microsoft Office/Word" and a web-based / cloud-based solution such as "Docs". Additionally, it works on any platform be it Microsoft Windows, Chrome OS or using Apple's Mac OS, that's why I don't feel restricted when it comes to using it, as long as I am connected to the internet.
Internet connectivity is required to use it and Microsoft Word still provides more complexity and options and with Microsoft OneDrive, the gap is narrowing.

I love using these and the fact that you can log in and download anything on the go when you are away on business trips.
I use Google Docs for everything. I also use the free items that you get when you download it like Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Drawings, Google Forms, Google Sites, I have used these with my teams so many times.
I wish there was a better way to connect them into onedrive and to have them all in different folders but connectable through the cloud.

Google Docs is so easy to use! I wish Microsoft OneDrive and Dropbox worked this well. Google Docs is the best cloud document platform.
Once I started using Google Docs I have only used cloud based documents. I love that no matter what computer, device, or location all of my documents are always available. Also I love being able to collaborate on documents with anyone you want! Say good by to sending versions of the same word document over and over again. All changes are automatically saved, tracked, and incorporated!
I wish more people used Google docs so all documents would be stored, saved, and shared online. Some users don't understand how different google docs is compared to Word docs.

The flexible nature of the software is amazing. I like the synchronization ability of the software It is available offline, which makes it suppers its kinds. It is convenient to use in editing long words or documents.
It opens doc in read only Sometimes typed words disappear, making it so frustrating. It can only edit docs in ms Word and when save in OneDrive

In my business, we are told to use OneDrive to share files. I still use Google Docs. It's far superior (and now I've convinced my boss of this as well!)
So easy to use. So easy to share. Everyone already know Word, PPT, and Excel, now you gift them with being able to share the same files online and have people edit them all at the same time. It's wonderful.
Some of the Microsoft Excel functionalities doesn't exist in Google Sheets. But those are some advanced functionality. 95% of my needs from a formula perspective are in Google Sheets.

We have created 'live' documents that sit within Google Drive, which is great for version controlling and collaboration.
Powerful software that sits within the GSuite system. It allows for easy collaboration and editing of documents, as well as the processing tools that you would be used to when using other applications.
Sometimes files made with other applications don't get read properly and the formatting is a bit off, but this is a minor inconvenience, as this happens with files held in OneDrive also.

Great tool for backing up files. If you have small amounts of storage, you can even use the free version of this software.
Unlike Microsoft OneDrive, working with Excel files is a problem. It doesn't give you all the information on a spreadsheet (like comments). For some staff this became a problem in a small business.

Google Docs is the gold standard for document collaboration and sharing. You can send a link so that everyone always sees the latest file (instead of emails bouncing back and forth), you can give and get and accept feedback. Word is the better processor, but OneDrive is unreliable at best for filesharing and the collaborative features in OneDrive are just awful. For anything that will be seen by anyone but me, Google Docs is all I use.
Google Docs makes it SO easy to collaborate with others on documents, give, request, and incorporate comments, and share files that can be updated in realtime. For collaboration and sharing, Google Docs is the only platform I use.
As a word processor, it doesn't have all the great features that Word has. It's not ideal for creating a new document if you need a lot of formatting options (ESPECIALLY tables, which are a nightmare in Docs). Luckily, you can always just upload a document you've created in Word to Docs and it does a pretty good job keeping formatting.

I have some pdf and some other files I like to keep handy and use it to share some other types of things with Friends.
For my own personal online storage it works fine. II am an andriod user so I like the storage for some personal files.
I don't like how Google has their own version of Office and that it screws up my Office files so I don't use it as often as I should. It is not as secure as OneDrive either.

The strong points of google docs is collaboration; the ease of sharing and using this with your team is the competitive edge. If you are looking for software that has better features and functionality, use Onedrive by Microsoft
The pros of this software is the security, ease of use, and accessibility. I have used it to store important documents, videos, and other files. Great for use as storage for sharing with team.
It does not have as many features as Onedrive by Microsoft when it comes to editing documents. Google docs does not support certain functions when it comes to editing documents and processing data on spreadsheets. There are also errors when trying to download documents; I often have to convert it from word to a google document then download it as docx.

Thanks to Google Docs it was made possible to our team to keep logs on Gamekit problems with no difficulty to share the information needed.
Google Docs is a must have if you want to make a team work: you can share a document to be read only or modified with two clicks, and you need only a mail address to access it.
Microsoft Word is way better than Google Docs when we look at the modification features, but one is expensive and the share feature is more complicated (must have OneDrive) and the other is free and easier to use.

Amazing team collaboration that comes at an amazing cost of FREE!
The flawless synchronisation of files and their contents. Outperforms both DropBox and OneDrive in terms of the number of conflicts and the ease of use. Even the more remedial staff can become incredibly proficient and leverage the power of the documents within a few days.
The complexity of having documents that are updated in real-time means there are certain limitations on the feature sets, complicated formulae in the Sheets element, and the advanced referencing in the word processor spring immediately to mind. I'm not sure that I'd write a textbook in this program, but it is more than adequate for basic to medium complexity documents.

Where Google Docs exceeds Microsoft OneDrive, is recording the updates individuals make to the doc/sheet. In group projects, you HAVE to know who has completed what work; otherwise, multiple problems can occur within the group dynamics, often resulting in decreased project productivity.
The ability to work on documents simultaneously with projects teammates has been highly beneficial with Google docs. It is easy for multiple people to sign on, and for everyone to see the progress made by each person.
The problem we have often run into, is formatting. Google formats their own way, but most often we had to change to a Microsoft Word format to be able to submit to most research platforms. So, if formatting is not as strict to the common Word styles, then I would highly recommend this product for group projects over any other.

I enjoy using Google Docs personally and professionally. Because of the vast tools out there for other users we have to be able to adopt other software quickly. This was one that was adopted very quickly with users because it is similar to OneDrive.
I love the fact that we can share the documents and collaborate with users easily.
On the mobile version, i wish it would allow edit right away. Instead of clicking on the pencil. Or if i try to click in the doc it makes it full screen first rather than editing it.

it's good, a handy way to share files, and for others to view. but if you are working collaboratively live it isnt good enough. need to download and work separately, which largely defeats the purpose. which has led me towards OneDrive as a better mechanism
it's quick, easy, and everyone has access to google. and its cheap
it gets clunky with multiple users, formatting works poorly, instances of lost work, when comments are resolved its tough to relocate them (ditto accepted changes), tough to use and follow with multiple users if many are editing. downloading and reuploading can cause issues

Overall, I would still suggest you try this product out, especially if you're interested in Microsoft 365.
Well, Microsoft finally got its own file sharing system. About time, and it's pretty good too! My favorite part is that you can get it with a Microsoft 365 subscription. Yes!
Because this is Microsoft and not Google, it doesn't sync with certain useful Google products, such as Google docs.

One drive is just like google docs, but safer, since it will close if idle
I like that I'm able to access documents from anywhere! As long as I'm logged in, I can share and create folders.
At least in my district, I must log in our website for my 365 account including the onedrive. If my computer is idle it will kick me off the document I was currently on, so I have to continuously refresh.

It makes me crazy. This may be because of our internal security but the whole login "thing" with this seems inconsistent and annoying. I understand the reason for it and how it's used, it just makes me nuts sometimes.
It does provide users with the ability to collaborate. I realize this was put in place to compete with Google Docs. I do like it better than Google docs (mainly because it 'plays nicer' with Word and Excel).
I have very little occasion to collaborate so that feature - which is the main thrust - isn't much use to me. Frankly, Sharepoint works just fine for that and we'd already been using that for a while. I suppose I'm in the minority on this but I just really dislike it when I feel that using any application is forced on me.
