It's easy for everyone to use Inkscape, a highly effective vector graphics editor. Due to its scalability, extensive feature set, and portability across platforms, it is an excellent option for creating vector drawings. However, some users may be put off by the high learning curve, low file compatibility, and sluggish performance.
Because it is an open-source software, users have access to Inkscape's source code, can make their own adjustments, and even help to further develop the program at no cost to themselves.Since Inkscape is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux, it is used by a wider audience.
Although Inkscape offers a lot of flexibility, it may lack the more sophisticated tools that professional designers need. Some of the more sophisticated font tools found in other vector graphics editors are absent here, for instance. While Inkscape is free and open-source, its community is lively, yet it may lack the resources available for commercial applications.

My overall experience with Inkscape is very positive. The inability to open .ai files is a minor problem for my use case, but when designing vectors from start, Inkscape is my favourite tool.
Well, the price is fantastic - you can't beat free, but the intuitive layout of Inkscape makes for an easy and intuitive experience when using it for designing.
It isn't compatible with Illustrator's .ai file format, despite both being SVG editors

Inkscape has been invaluable for us as a solution for staffers who don’t do enough vector work to require a Creative Cloud subscription, but occasionally have to do graphical work. Because it’s not user-friendly, I hesitate to recommend it as a full-service corporate solution, but as a low-cost option or a stand-in, it’s very serviceable.
Inkscape is powerful—it has deep functionality, and allows users to do almost anything they want to do with vector graphics. Secondly, Inkscape is free. Price point is definitely an advantage.
Inkscape is not user-friendly. It takes a lot of time to learn, and even some basic functionality will require making use of the support documentation.

This will get the job done for free and until I can pay for the fancy stuff again, if it's free it's for me!
For a free product I'm amazed. ALMOST everything I need to do is possible without the expensive Adobe subscription. There are some hoops to jump through but there's a great community to explain shortcuts, etc.
After over a decade with Adobe, I really have to slow down and remember I'm in a different application. Things don't work the same way so, no, it's probably not under the menu you'd think it should be.

Inkscape is one of the best free open source reliable software i use, very fast and light weight. also runs all 3 main desktop operating system Linux, MacOS and Windows. between GIMP, Inkscape and Blender that's all a graphic designer needs to get rid of all the expensive proprietary bulky design software.
Inkscape is a free simple and easy to use and learn vector graphics editor and creator.
missing a few functions like importing EPS vector images format.

Compared to the minor setbacks, I recommend InkScape for all vector drawings.
If you're looking to 'create' vector graphics, InkScape is very straightforward and simple to use. It has a well-arranged menu system and it allows you to do any 2D graphic that you'd otherwise create using expensive programs like Illustrator. It runs on most platforms - for me I need to use it on Windows and Ubuntu and it works without a flaw. It supports layers but you don't really need it since you can easily re-edit every single object even on the same layer. The fact that the files created are as SVGs allows the images to be directly opened on all modern web browsers. I truly admire the work of the developers here as this is a great open source program and you can just download it for free.
These are the main drawbacks of InkScape: 1. You can only export images as PNG files if you need bitmap exports. Not even JPEG is possible. 2. 3D graphics are not possible. 3. Saving as other formats or importing from AI files is not always great. It seems a little buggy. 4. There is no way to know if your colours are print or screen-friendly. This is something that you find important especially for printing logos and art work. Despite these drawbacks, I always choose it as I find it very comfortable working with it.

Inkscape has been a vast improvement over the suite software I was using. I don’t have to switch software to perform different tasks on a project. And, it’s price tag of FREE certainly helps when starting a business with zero capital and only two commissions that are yet to be paid.
This product is great. It combines all the features I need for SVG creation into one, easy to use, FREE software. Did I mention it’s free? I am trying to run a business selling various art items. I am not very technologically savvy and, as I am still in start up phase with zero capital, I need something inexpensive. I had been paying over $30 a month for another software suite that did not work well...
The only issue I have with Inkscape is one of my own problems. I have been using the expensive suite so long, learning the different names and slightly different icons for Inkscape has taken some time. However, many videos exist on the internet to help people learn how to use the program.

100% FREE for the entire package and that's an unbeatable deal. While this doesn't offer as much advanced features as Illustrator or Corel, this software does offer a lot. This is still the best free software of this time of artistic platform. Other Vector image software that's free or even some of the lower-end pay for stuff doesn't compare to Inkscape. If you are familiar at all with Illustrator,...
Not as many features as higher end pay-for-stuff, but it is free and what you get for the price of the time it takes to download is decent. If you are creating simple vector art images, this is pretty decent, but if you are doing something like vector animation, Adobe Illustrator might be worth sticking with. The software is not as intuitive as similar products, but it's pretty versatile.

Overall, my experience with Inkscape has been positive. I appreciate the software's intuitive interface, the extensive set of tools, and the active community of users. While it does have its limitations, it's an excellent option for those who are looking for a free alternative to Adobe Illustrator. If you're a beginner in vector image editing, Inkscape is a great place to start.
Inkscape is a fantastic vector image editing program that has a lot of positives. Firstly, it's free to use, and that's a considerable advantage over other expensive vector image editors like Adobe Illustrator. It has a comprehensive set of tools that allow users to create and edit vector graphics with ease. Inkscape's user interface is user-friendly, and it's easy to find and use tools for creating complex designs. It also has a vast community of users who regularly contribute to the development of the software.
However, Inkscape has some cons that I've experienced while using it. One of the main drawbacks is that it can be slow at times when working on large files, which can be frustrating for users who are on tight deadlines. Additionally, it lacks some features that are present in other vector image editors, such as the ability to apply perspective distortion to objects.

Inkscape has allowed me to create more detailed vector designs for use in my business at a quicker pace than using the Cricut Design Space software. I would recommend it to all Cricut users and to those just looking for an affordable graphic design software.
As a free software, this program is great for anyone looking to do graphic design work but especially for beginners. I started using Inkscape as a way to design vector files for use with my Cricut machine. The Cricut Design Space software had a lot of limitations and was very slow for working with text, so I turned to Inkscape for almost all of my project designs. I can then easily save my vector files in .svg format to upload into Cricut Design Space for making my projects.
Inkscape will occasionally crash and close while I'm using it, so be sure to save often. As a free software, this is a mild annoyance but not a deal breaker.

Inkscape can be used to create logos, icons, illustrations, and graphics for print, web, and mobile applications. It can be used to create marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, and advertisements. It can also be used to create technical diagrams for reports, presentations, and manuals.BenefitsThe main benefit of using Inkscape is that it is free and open source, making it accessible to anyone with a computer. It is also very user-friendly and intuitive, allowing even novice users to create professional-looking images. Inkscape also supports multiple file formats, allowing users to export their work in a variety of ways. Finally, Inkscape features a number of tools and features that make it easy to create complex graphics with relative ease.
1. Inkscape is free and open-source, so it is available for anyone to use without having to pay for a license. 2. It is easy to use, with an intuitive user interface and comprehensive set of features. 3. It is highly compatible with other vector graphics software, allowing you to easily export and import files from other programs. 4. It has a wide range of features and tools, making it suitable for both experienced and novice users.5. Inkscape is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms, making it accessible to a wide range of users.
1. Inkscape is not as powerful as more expensive vector graphics software such as Adobe Illustrator.2. The user interface can be confusing for some users, as there are a lot of options and tools available.3. The software is not as well-supported or updated as other vector graphics software, so users may not get the same level of customer support.

Love it! I use it monthly to design fliers, t-shirts, business cards and help with web design for our non-profit that we run in our spare time. Inkscape is really a tool that can do it all and will not break your budget.
This is an open source project, I love things that are free (as in free beer and free speech). Inkscape is such a great value for the money. It takes a little time to learn, just like other graphics programs. If you are coming from the Adobe Illustrator realm, you will find things frustrating initially. Menu and tools and shortcuts are all different. But the principles of vector design and illustration are all there. You can literally do anything with this product. It won't have that glossy appeal of using Ai but it WILL get the job done. I just printed 100 T-shirts last week from an .eps I created in Inkscape (design and layout).
It's not flashy like Adobe, it doesn't look sexy from an interface perspective. Does that matter? Probably not. There is a learning curve though, be patient it is worth it.

I have really liked using it to produce logos and other vectorized images, since it has quite a lot of options that facilitate work. I would really recommend it to anyone interested in practicing vector art, especially if you cannot afford the more expensive softwares, since this one has all you could need to start.
It is one of the standard softwares, and this makes it easy to find information and tutorials online, which facilitates understanding how it works. It also provides a few tutorials with the program itself, which is always good to have. It is also free, and open-source, so users can develop and change it if they need to. The webpage has quite a few suggestions regarding tutorials and key-bindings, which...
It is not very aesthetic-looking, and it can be a bit difficult to follow the tutorials, since many of its tools seem to have been moved around, and had their key-bindings changed, in later versions. This makes it hard for new users to find the tools or options they need for each piece, and can actually generate a lot of confusing when you start working with it.

There are a plethora of different applications this software has for business. Design business cards, letterheads, logos, mailers, flyers, and brochures - create a cartoon character or an emoji for your social media pages. Design stickers or a million others things that your business can use to promote. Or, perhaps it is your business to create images for others. Either way, this software can handle it. Personally, I use this software all of the time and I just love to work with it.
Inkscape allows you create and edit beautiful vector images and graphics! With just a little bit of imagination, a user can do so much because the creators have put so much functionality into this software. I have used many different graphics programs and I really prefer Inkscape since getting used to the controls. I use this software to make cartoon graphics of people for use on their social media accounts. Generally, I have to do a lot of edits to get an image exactly the way someone wants it to look. Inkscape makes those changes easy. This software can be used to make simple edits or to create full gorgeous graphics and the best part is that the software is free to use.
This software is certainly not for someone who is not tech savvy. There are some other programs that are more user friendly. However, in my opinion, those programs aren't as dynamic either. Inkscape can be intimidating and a little bit frustrating to even someone who does have some understanding of computer graphics until you learn the ins and outs of the program and where/how the functions are laid out. With that said, once you get in there and play with everything, the program develops an ease of use that will have a person preferring this software over other, much more expensive options.

This is a cost effective solution for graphic design for the end user. At home or professional, Inkscape will work for you.
The price and functionality are great. Inkscape functions well and doesn't take up much storage space as other designer products.
Beware, Inkscape updates can be tricky due to the amount updates from Apple but its a chance you take. The software for OS is solid but sometimes you need to avoid updates until Inkscape can catch up.

I like it because it was free and we were a startup so overhead matters. At some point we outgrew our need and the free was no longer enough. Some of the more needed tasks too twice as long to dial in as again the paid alternatives
Best feature is the price it is free and yes it is a vector software. It does the basics of vectoring and design creation
Not intuitive It take many mores steps to complete functions compared to paid alternatives

I have using Inscake more than ten years, first for logo design and then for everything that can be done in vectors. Once learned, was obvious for me that I did not need any other software, in conjunction with Gimp, both were the kit that do the job.
It is very easy to use and have all the functionalities we need from a vector graphics software: Shapes of any kind, fill and stroke colorizing, object grouping, effects, filters and much more. Exporting to pdf or png is also available with a high quality result. It is Open Source, so no license fees apply, and support is abundant all over internet, I am pretty sure there is already an answer for each question about this product and how to use it.
Although it has improved a lot in recent years, sometimes its performance is affected by slowness, especially in computers with low memory.

While not Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape does have the ability to produce professional results in the hands of a trained, knowledge-able user. When trying to first learn about vector graphics and get practice, Inkscape was invaluable, and then later when working for pay doing certain graphic work, Inkscape has been a solid tool. If you need a vector editor to get you started, don't have to have the big budget bleeding edge new tools, or need to edit a graphic at a location where you don't have access to any mainstream vector software, Inkscape is really hard to beat.
-Tool to trace raster images into a rough vector duplicate -Ability to import PDF files -Price(free) for the amount of features and tools Has a decent number of the general tools needed to perform professional work for creating and editing vector graphics. I have used it for a variety of purposes like websites, newsletters, business card logos, and a few other random purposes along the way, as well.
The color gradient editor feels clunky and not very efficient to me. There have been times I have wished the trace tool had more coding work dedicated to it to make it more accurate and able to generate better results that didn't need as much editing to make them acceptable. As is somewhat expected, the tools work well enough for a lot of general purpose editing etc, but being an open source and mostly volunteer based coding and development team, Inkscape does often lack the newer features and workflow enhancements of larger, well funded, for-profit companies that make similar software.

When upgrading all of our office computers we lost our old installation of the Adobe Creative Suite. We have since used Inkscape to replace Illustrator. It is very seldom that we use graphics editors in our office, so the cost of an adobe subscription did not make sense. Using Inkscape has been an amazing free alternative.
Inkscape is very intuitive and was an easy transition to make coming from illustrator. It does not have the steep learning curve that you may see when leaving other commercial software for open source. It is not very resource intensive allowing us to run Inkscape on any machine in the office.
The industry standard is still the adobe suite. It can make things problematic if I need to collaborate with a partner as many people do not use Inkscape.

We use Inkscape to create vector graphics such as logos, icons, and product images for our webcomic. We use its bitmap tracing feature to vectorize all of our drawn comics to be able to blow them up for posters and products. It is a great addition to our toolset and I can't see our company running without it.
Inkscape is completely free, and yet it does everything the competition does for a price. It even offers some functionality that is not present with some of the competition, like bitmap tracing.
Sometimes it takes a very long time for the program to start, to the point I think I didn't actually click, then I click again and two instances of the program start up at the same time. It is a small annoyance, but it is noticeable when opening and closing the program a lot.

Even though Inkscape lags behind premium options it gets the job done. So you can use it professionally without paying anything. Also its very light on the system so you don't have to worry about memory and CPU usage. So despite its shortcomings I recommend Inkscape for all vector drawings.
Best thing about Inkscape is its free and opensource. Its runs on most platforms. UI is simple and straightforward. Can re-edit every single object. Inkscape software is very light. Setup is only about 65MB. Low system requirements.
3D graphics are not possible. Only have PNG format as bitmap export. No option to see colors are print or screen-friendly. Inkscape lags behind premium vector graphic options.

Inkscape provides a perfect platform for scholars to bring their digital humanities work to life. Our research team found that there was no loss of quality on our research by switching from subscription-based platforms to this free resource. A great product, especially for a scholar or student on a budget.
As a Dead Sea Scrolls scholar who produces digital reconstructions of the fragmentary Dead Sea Scrolls manuscripts, Inkscape was a wonderful software resource that aided me and my research team to create high-quality digital reconstructions for publication and presentation. The platform was intuitive and easy to use and easily allowed our research team to import images and self-designed fonts to make the manuscript reconstructions come to life. Our team switched from different software and found the product to be easily learned and mastered with ease. This is a great product whose free features provide everything any scholar would need to produce publishable images.
Having switched from another platform, I felt that the tools were limited when compared to the other product that our research team was using, however, for the price it was worth it.

Wow! Inkscape is such an awesome piece of software. I use it mainly to convert my pictures into SVGs. I can also Erase part of the pictures that I don’t want to use. I can change colors, I can draw, I can convert text from one program to another.
Honestly I’ve never had a problem with ink scape. It’s my favorite software to use. It’s very easy are use it a lot. You don’t have to pay for somebody to convert one of your pictures to an SVG file. I can get very expensive.

It's free! If you don't want to pay for Adobe Illustrator or other expensive software, or if you are just a hobbyist, you can't beat Inkscape.
Because it's free, the functionality is not quite as robust as software like Adobe Illustrator. Of course, you would expect that from a free program.

Inkscape has lots of features and a huge user base, but it's not suitable for professionals.
Inkscape is free of cost and full of features. It is also Cross-platform software. It has a Robust community and extension ecosystem.
Text-handling tools and features in Inkscape are basic. The Mac version is not stable yet. The user interface is not friendly enough. It couldn't handle large files properly.
