If you're simply looking for note taking then it does the job well but anything more than that it can't compete.
It lacks integrations and features when compared to Notion.

It’s just a regular app, at the end I opted for Notion which has more implementations
Well, it’s a pretty generic note taking app, so it works as it is expected
It’s not easy to keep track on where did you write some notes and it’s very simple, there is no advantage over any other note taking app that comes with your phone

- Sleek interface - If you are comfortable with Word, then this is an easy transition - Sections are easy to navigate
- Decent bit of kit, but all you need to know is that it is inferior to Notion. Notion can do everything OneNote can and then some - Not really a fan of how text sits with in text boxes, so the alignment can be fiddly

It lacks some basic features that their competitors have but that's the game, right? There's always going to be different software for different needs. But even in that, I think OneNote is a gem of a note-taking app and fits perfectly within the Microsoft 365 Suite, and within my life and business.
I think my favorite thing about OneNote is the ability to password-protect certain notebooks. Notion or Evernote doesn't allow that so I keep OneNote running as a backup specifically for this option. Once you dig in, the interface is intuitive and simple and just makes sense. Being able to highlight, draw and annotate is really great as well. I love Notion but it doesn't allow that quite yet so, again, OneNote has been a keeper for that reason as well. I have notebooks from when I first started business (back in 2007, before Microsoft 365 came around) and they're still safe, password protected and sync flawlessly. I appreciate having that level of confidence in a piece of software that has stood the test of time and kept my data saved and intact.
There are times I wish I could transfer some of my notes easily to other platforms (like Notion) but haven't found a streamlined way to do this as of yet.

I love the fact that it has a similar interface to that of Microsoft Excel and Word for being part of the Microsoft Office suite. It makes it easy to get familiar with the tool.
It is pretty simple to use over other Knowledge Management Tools like Notion, and Evernote. The best part is that one can get all his notes just by logging in to his Microsoft account and can also share access to specific pages.
It is difficult to navigate over a page with a lot of information. Also it can be confusing to navigate through the pages while using the search and filter feature.

I love how easy it is for me to create my uni notes, use the platform to organise, plan and track my assignments on time and also be able to do all this at a fair price.
I hate the fact that there's no app that I can use offline with more features from apps like Notion. It would be nice to have all the different templates that other people use being introduced to Onenote as well.

OneNote is perfect while doing deep work. Pairing it with a digital pen (Surface Pen) gets as close as writing in paper notebook. The fact that all my notes are available in cloud across all devices at any time is very useful while switching devices at college/work/home.
A free-flowing, never-ending, no constraints canvas. The canvas is just as a blank sheet of paper that grows infinitely in all directions. OneNote allows the user to add texts, images, annotations or any object anywhere on the canvas - flexibility allows for creativity and better experience while taking notes. I've used OneNote on a laptop with keyboard and also on tablet (Surface Go) with a digital pen. Note taking experience is fluid in all input forms. User Interface is intuitive and allows the user to focus on the writing. The Dark UI is a must try, the high contrast UI makes the colors pop and it's easy on the eyes.
OneNote resembles a traditional notebook in a digitized manner. It is most suited for users who write structured, content heavy notes. It is not ideal for adding rapid notes on the fly - say shopping lists. (Google Keep, Notion might come in handy here).

- Different Notebooks & Sections helps in organising notes. - Password protection of notebooks - Can attach files, images, pdf - Keeps a history of page version & deleted notes
- If you are not using notebook from cloud (OneDrive) then import/export feature of notebook is painful when importing to Macbook from Windows. - Copilot is not yet available for all users compared to its competitor Notion - Macbook OneNote gets all the new features i.e. after Windows and Web application

This used to be a great option as it was quick to use and readily available with MS office purchase. However, with competitors like Notion and Obsidian available (at very reasonable cost), I rarely open one note nowadays. It’s a shame that it hasn’t had a proper update or user-significant new functionality added in years. Given what others can do there is just no reason to fire it up anymore
Readily available with the MS suite. Simple UI.
Sync and exports often fail, tagging and organising notes isn’t intuitive, no connection between notes and themes.

Once I embraced the OneNote's way of notetaking nuances, there was no turning back. It completely revolutionized my notes and the history of notes. Now, all my notes stay put in different notebooks, sections and pages - neatly organized. This is really handy for note taking, be it on PC or mobile. Go for it!
It's different for different versions of MS Office. That's a bummer. Since I use both Home office and Office 365 I can visibly see the differences between two versions of OneNote and that UI difference for different users is evident. Another one: not a big con, but I feel the tables within OneNote should have calculative capabilities like the features in Notion app. Apart from that, I'm happy with OneNote, and am going to use it for years to come, for sure.

SOOO happy about this product. I was using Microsoft OneNote before and I've switched everything over to Notion now.
Everything honestly. From the new added AI features to the ready made templates, notion is EVERYTHING. I cancelled my other social media calendar schedulars and now I use Notion as my SM calendar for my clients! Keeps me on track with what events they have coming up, what posts to create/win. ANNNND my clients are able to access Notion and approve or update caption ideas!
Sometimes getting the right template can be a little cumbersome.

This software is capable of both note-taking and managing tasks for documentation projects.
I initially started using it as a note-taking tool, but later found it extremely helpful for task management and documentation in agile projects. Therefore, I highly recommend it. There are already many templates available online for task and schedule management, making it easy for beginners to quickly catch up. Additionally, with a paid subscription, you can share workspaces with team members, making it suitable for small projects without much financial burden.
I primarily used Microsoft OneNote but switched to Notion for side projects. The shortcuts were not standardized and quite different, which made it inconvenient initially. However, once I got used to it, it was fine, so I consider this a personal issue.

I picked this up some time ago for personal organization, and haven't done much with it. Now I'm trying it as a more structured approach to running check-ins. I love the potential but am not yet sure I will use it heavily.
I'm fascinated by the structure Notion allows. I can create a relational database within a note-taking app! This is great. The vibe of the platform is minimalist and clean. / commands are fantastic tools--and embedding PDFs works better than in OneNote.
Coming as I do from OneNote, a few nitpicks: First, this app is not as intuitive as I wish. Templates and structure can get in the way of usability. For that reason, I'm not sure I'll replace OneNote with this. Also, full-text search puzzles me. I can't search the content of PDFs, apparently, unless I'm on the page in which that file is embedded.

My experience with Notion started with a single focus to replace OneNote. While OneNote is tolerable co-existing with its MS Office brethren, it lacks 3rd party integration such as Chrome browser extensions. One of my primary use cases of Notion is to track internet research conducted on various devices. Google Keep actually beats Notion in that department, but Google Keep essentially allows data to be organized by an oversimplified way: searching. Notion has an amazing array of data structures to help you stay organized.
Notion’s versatility sets a remarkably high industry benchmark. One could simply start using it on Day One to replace EverNote or OneNote with minimal ramp-up time. Adding Kanban boards or Airtable-like features are merely a few clicks away, however. That exact nature may explain why a smaller organization (eg a boot-strapped startup) would find this flexibility invaluable. A larger organization may not embrace such a bottom-up governance approach.
Notion’s versatility could also be its own biggest threat. How would you categorize what Notion exactly does? Productivity is too ambiguous an answer while database, calendaring or project management is only partially accurate as well. Most end-users may find this multiple identities a little disorienting.

Extremely adaptable table and database layouts. Used it as my primary method of note-taking and journaling. I like it better than both OneNote and EverNote combined. One of, if not the greatest, note-taking apps available.
Simple to input text and numbers. Terrific shortcuts for a variety of jobs. Excellent for including and embedding media. The app allows me to quickly photograph handwritten notes and store them in a folder I can sort through on my computer later.
Don't try to reinvent the wheel when it comes to table cell entry; if I click into a cell and start typing, it will replace the existing content (just like Excel does), and choosing cells is far more cumbersome than in Excel. The process of making a template is not the most straightforward, and it took me some time to master it.

Overall the team that built notion put a lot of thought into how it could be used and the people who used it brought out a variety of ideas and created a community that shared those templates, inspiring more people to use Notion to its full extent.
The ease with which Notion lets you create templates based on your ideas is what dragged us towards it. We used it to track our daily tasks, the task itself had an option to add notes, pdfs, and files that could be easy to archive and retrieve when required.
Not a lot but there was a case when the mobile app was not optimized and it hung a lot. It meant that it was not reliable for taking offline notes like onenote or evernote.

Overall if you have a bunch of different types of information to organize this software is great. As an efficient note taking platform it doesn't hold up.
The simplicity of the interface and diversity of templates makes it easy to organize information any way you want.
Many people compare Notion to Onenote and Evernote, but I don't think it stacks up well primarily because of how hard it is to get the interface out of the way when you want to focus.

To keep track notes and other work-related material that had been stored, I was using OneNote. Since Notion loads more quickly and lets me visualize the data in a variety of ways, I've moved data over to it.
I really like how adaptable and easy at the same time Notion truly is. It's excellent for note-taking, project planning, collaboration, documentation, and many other things. Additionally, I've developed a passion for the emoji style because it stands out among the majority of other tools and provides a breath of new fresh air.
Honestly, I don't currently have any complaints about it.

I am making a swtich to notion from onenote to capture meeting notes, thoughts on a project and make database on projects. It has not turned me down. It does have a steep learning curve which might be a turnoff if you are not open to change.
Notion stands out as a very strong alternative to notes organizer (i was previously using onenote) for following reasons: 1) database: notion allows to make table with all sort of features: tags, date, reminder, sorting (1st,2nd,3rd order sorting) 2) cross-platform and web-based 3) limitless: has a to-do list, can be used as a personal wiki
1) needs wifi: no offline support 2) not free but price is affordable 3) may be limited by your company's vpn: since it has data storage capacity, prior to switch pl ensure your hospital allows the app 4) steep learning curve

for brainstorming ideas, managing content clip notion.so are very pleasant to use
- think evernote, onenote, todoist but more awesome - compare to the competitor, this app are easy to use and the user experience are pleasant - have a web clipper - can link to files and other notes - more affordable compared to airtable and zenkit - have templates - have an android and windows app.
- compared to the competitor the function are not very complex - the free version is a bit limited to 1000 block - no mindmap like zenkit

I love Notion for managing my projects, both work and personal. Its so easy to take meeting notes, make to-do lists, track expenses, etc. I used to use OneNote, but found that I needed something that synced between my phone and computer - Notion was the solution. It's pretty intuitive, and I've had a ton of fun learning the program.
I've had to spend a little time adapting, it wasn't as intuitive for me as OneNote. I also struggled with figuring out the best way to organize and segment my different categories, mostly because I didn't quite understand how Notion worked until I'd tried it for a few weeks.

Not even sure where to begin, honestly. I'm a single mom who homeschools and run a couple of businesses as well. Notion is my life, and keeps me sane and semi-ordered. It's connected to all of my devices and literally goes everywhere I go. I use it for budgeting, homeschooling, journaling, writing, business planning, future planning, etc.. the list is endless. It's a goldmine.
Not one thing. I like it all. It's thorough and flexible. It can be easy, or it can be complicated, just depends on how deep you'd like to go. That's the beauty of it. They've done good, so good it quickly became my daily bread, replacing OneNote & Evernote.

Overall I am really pleased with using Notion as mye workspace. It has a lot of different features that you will not find in Word or Onenote. I especially like how i can have different notebooks up, both my personal and one i share with others. Furthermore i love all the possibilities you get with so many different templates.
I love how easy it is to organize my notes from different classes and to seamlessly tie them together if there is overlapping subjects. I like to create a new "notebook" for each course, and then create a new "page" for the different subjects, which makes my notes really structured and easy to find. I especially like the "toggle-list" which makes it possible to hide the content, so that you can try to answer a question without having the answer right away.
Even though i really like the features of this software, it is a bit difficult to get the hang of all the different features. For me this ment that i had to give it many chances to really get the hang of it, and starting to use it on a daily basis.

I got Notion when I first moved into project management. I love it. It's not has heavy as SmartSheet or as cumbersome as OneNote. It's also not a primary project management tool, in my opinion. But it's a great tool to have alongside my SmartSheet instance. Excellent for meeting notes, task tracking, building proposals and having templates at the ready.
It's like OneNote in that it's extremely powerful and feature rich. But far more user friendly and intuitive. Not to mention, the interface is great. I love how easy it is to customize and build any kind of document/structure I can imagine. And collaboration is pretty nifty too. Great perks for recommending folks that sign up.
The only thing I had any trouble with was understanding the storage/size limits on the free version. It's not super clear what a "block" is. But you can gauge it once you start building content. I haven't looked recently to see if documentation has been updated to better explain.

The initial learning curve* is sooooooo worth it; I now manage just about everything through Notion. For me, it's the '2nd brain' that the likes of [SENSITIVE CONTENT] bang on about (and with good reason) - I'm more organised, more productive and less stressed. *Only to use it more extensively; if you just want an Evernote or OneNote alternative, it's as easy as they are)
Enables me to record, note and plan things in whatever way works best at the time, and then find it again, instantly!
As a new user, it takes a little planning to maximise some of its benefits; I needed to rethink the structure behind many things that had previously existed purely as notes.

Fantastic
Can do just about anything you can imagine. I replaced Trello Boards, Confluence type of documentation, Onenote, Todoist, Meetings, Databases, everything. The block style formatting takes a few minutes to get used to, but once you are in the groove you cannot be stopped. I use this tool for just about everything now. Sure it takes me a bit to type things up, categorize it, ect, but my productivity is way up now
Would like if there were an easier way to export it into Word or into a format that could easily be pasted into Outlook as many things I Notion require an email. Or have an outlook plug type of thing.

I've been using OneNote to keep track of my tasks and when I heard a lot noise about Notion I had to give it a try. It was a good decision. As a major procrastinator, Notion has helped me stay on track of my tasks and therefore save time and schedule better. The more I use it the more features I found. It just keeps helping me out in new ways that I never thought about.
The only thing that I have an issue with is when I have to print a page from Notion. If I have a grid or graphics it usually goes out of proportion even after tweaking the printing option as much as I could. Hope they integrate some printing options into the app itself.

The two-minute quick-start videos are also amazing to get up and running in the software. Overall this software has helped me to plan and document everything I need for my business.
Some of the keyboard shortcuts aren’t always the most intuitive. For instance, adding and removing columns in the database cannot be as easily done as with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

It’s just great that it creates the feeling that the whole team collaborates continuously.
It’s one platform with a huge amount of hyperlinked and metadated content. Content in its databases is presented in an unlimited number of filtered views - anyone gets served, based on only one truth that recycles the data. The AI component is really added value: it helps me translate, write letters, write documentation; it helps me think! And it even acts as a coach for me!!It also offers you the possibility to present your information in beautifully designed ways.
I can understand that some find it too dynamic, when they are used to the Microsoft files in folders, or the ‘my desktop’-world. Here you are always “together” —- collaboration is in the dna of Notion. Welcome to the 21st century!

How many people can say that after three years of using a piece of software that I am more excited and more dedicated to Notion than ever before. They are rolling out new features each and every month so it just keeps getting better and better. And the craziest thing about it is that for most people Notion is 100% FREE. If you don't sign up for this program and at least try it out, you don't know how badly you are missing out.
I have been using Notion for about three years now and it just keeps getting better and better. What I like most is the block-based concept for building your documents, projects, etc. In fact, Notion is so flexible, that after I'd gotten familiar with it and had been using it for only about 2-3 weeks, I eliminated nine other programs I was using because everything that was available or useful in them, I could do in Notion. To clarify, the programs I replaced were Google Docs, Sheets, MS Access, MS OneNote, a KanBan program, Google Keep, Pocket, clipping program, Collectorz (book management program), Plottr (novel outlining program) and three other minor notetaking and writing apps.
I think for now, the only feature I would like to see that Notion doesn't (YET) have is the ability to open multiple documents at the same time. There are actually a couple of ways around that, but that minor issue is all I could think of. I am an absolute diehard Notion fan.
