SecureCloud is a German platform for encrypted file storage, sharing and collaboration, aimed at organisations in regulated sectors.

Storage and recovery

Storage is pooled across users: 50 GB per user on Business, 100 GB per user on Advanced and Enterprise, extendable independently of user count. File version history covers 90 days on Business and 365 days on Advanced and Enterprise. Deleted libraries remain recoverable for 30 days. Enterprise adds backup to a second location.

Encryption and access

All data is stored AES-256 encrypted, in transit over TLS, in German data centres. SecureCloud has no US parent company and is therefore not subject to the US CLOUD Act. An optional second encryption layer can be enabled per library, with the key derived locally on the user's device and never transmitted; in that mode the content cannot be decrypted by the provider. Because that removes external link sharing and password recovery, it is applied per data class rather than globally.

Access control covers role-based permissions, separation of duties, enforceable two-factor authentication, and file-level audit logs for documentation duties. Enterprise adds multi-factor authentication, LDAP, Active Directory and SSO, plus virus scanning on upload.

Sharing

Share links support password protection and expiry presets of 1, 7, 30 or 90 days or a custom date, with the effective expiry date shown before creation. Per link you set preview-only or preview-and-download. Links render in your own corporate design under your own domain. Multiple files can be shared in a single operation.

Collaboration

Office and PDF documents are edited simultaneously in the browser, with no local installation required.

Platforms and clients

Web browser, sync clients for Windows, macOS and Linux, apps for iOS and Android. On mobile, SecureCloud registers as a storage location in the device file manager, so files can be uploaded, downloaded, moved, copied, renamed and deleted without switching apps, with changes synced back automatically. Sync interval and bandwidth are configurable, including operation behind a proxy. Offline folders remain usable without a connection.

Integrations and API

Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams integrations. An open REST API and a free MCP server for AI access are included. Enterprise adds full text search across content.

Administration

Administrator roles, user and group management, storage quotas per user or role, custom domain via CNAME, and corporate design applied to the interface and to outbound share links.
