ShareMyToolbox overview

ShareMyToolbox is a mobile-first tool inventory management and tracking system which provides field personnel with a simple way to keep track of who is responsible for tools and small equipment. Users can build their tool catalog with data import technology which allows the import of lists from Excel. To further aid setup, users can manually enter tools and manage user connections such as admin and employee users.

Designed to build accountability, ShareMyToolbox enables users to assign tools to individuals and jobs. Users can search for and locate tools by barcode scan or text search, with support for barcode scanning through the camera on users' mobile or tablet devices. Employees can accept or decline responsibility for any assigned tool from the warehouse on their phone.

With native mobile apps for iOS and Android, users have the flexibility to search for and transfer tools while out in the field, and check tool availability back in the warehouse. By marking tools as ‘unavailable’, users disable those select tools from being searched for or shared. Tool transfer information is updated in the cloud-based tool catalog automatically, providing all users with up-to-date information.

By maintaining a record of every tool transfer and acceptance, ShareMyToolbox ensures all users have central access to a complete tool history. From the web interface, users can sort, filter and group tool inventory data. ShareMyToolbox also allows users to export tool inventory or history data into Excel for analysis.

Reduced business costs of labor, lost time, lost tools, and gained accountability to everyone in the company that utilizes tools. It puts the accountability to the field user, which encourages all of the users to utilize the application. In a lot of tool management systems, they are used as an accounting system for the office to manage the dollars of the tools, and the locations. But, that leaves the field out of the occasion, and turns it into a housekeeping nightmare for the office and/or warehouse. With SMTB, it sets up the system to require the users to accept tools when they are delivered. Then if a tool goes missing, the person who has their name on the tool is accountable. This encourages utilization within the field by design.

ACCOUNTABILITY!!!It is on every mobile device. I know where the tools are and when we need to replace them. It also keeps tools out of corners of job shacks and in the back of trucks because people are assigned to them.
