Key features of Apex LIS include data capture, physician test panels, a lab instrument interface, multi-location printing, fax management, and order entry. Physicians can use the multiple entry module to submit laboratory requests based on individual requirements. The electronic health record (EHR) solution creates lab appointments and standing orders for local, as well as reference testing. The platform also generates specimen labels in suitable quantities. Teams can utilize the barcode scanner to read specimen labels and identify storage locations when tests are ready.

Apex LIS enables users to generate full size medical reports with business logos and patient information. Users can export them as Adobe Acrobat PDF files for email, fax or reprint. Using Westgard rules processing, teams can conduct periodic quality checks of laboratory devices, to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
