From our experience within our company, it is a sufficient CRM, but in all honesty, after switching to Hubspot CRM, I realized that Insightly was missing a lot of other useful features.
It was a good starter CRM for our small company to get us more organized and move from an excel spreadsheet into a more feature-rich platform. It has the basic functionality of what you would expect from a CRM platform nowadays, with automatic email logging, contact management, as well as an integration with Quickbooks.
I felt like we outgrew it quickly. We were only on the free plan, but with the features that we used, and after analyzing the cost of upgrading versus the competitors, we couldn't justify the additional cost of upgrading Insightly.

Was my first try at a crm, used only the free version, but never really got the use out of it. Perhaps because it wasn’t an enjoyable/intuitive experience I was going for
Lots of features and you’re able to have quite a bit on the free version.
Was kind of clunky, design and user experience not great. I’m now using HubSpot crm(completely free) and it is much better suited and simple to use.

Used it daily to manage customers and projects. Didn’t have enough features so we switched to hubspot
It was an ok product to use before we switched to HubSpot. Helped to manage customers, and projects.
Couldn’t do as much as Hubspot, though the price is very low

Visually, this is a really great app. I liked that there was a really good way to keep track of a sales flow
lacks many features I found needed in other programs like Salesforce, prosper works CRM or Zoho CRM.

Insightly was the first CRM I have ever used. It's is very simple to use and takes a few minutes to understand how it works, even for a unexperienced user.
Insightly lacks many features I found needed. The CRM is a bit slow, and can't be tweaked into a personal tailor-made CRM.

I use this as my personal CRM, so if a customizeable CRM is not required this is certainly an option
Extremely inexpensive software for small business with good bulk mailing features and document storage.
Customizing is limited and navigation sometimes a little clumsy and non intuitive, I wish it contained a split screen for some of the functions.

Good for introducing into a crm
Easy and low price. For it's cost its good, but there are better options on the market
there are not much options to integrate it with third party apps

Great tool to help keep myself organized and work my sales leads and manage my pipeline. Helps me to keep on track.
The ease of use and how quickly I was able to get the hang of it. It offers everything I used Salesforce for in the past.
More features to prevent duplicates getting entered into the CRM would be helpful.

My experience has been find. There have been no bad experiences, but nothing superb or awe-inspiring either.
it's a good, cost effective CRM option for small business.
It is somewhat limited due to it being a smaller, lesser know CRM.

Overall, I'd really recommend considering Insightly. It has made a significant difference in my small business and has certainly kept me more organized. As my company grows, Insightly grows with me--and that's something I really value in a software solution.
Insightly does everything I need a CRM to do without paying a single dollar. For a solo business owner like me, that's huge. It lets me keep track of my customers and prospects without limiting functionality or putting up a pay wall. It's also worth noting that I originally chose Insightly because it integrates with a lot of other software I currently use or plan to use in the future.
If you haven't used a CRM system before, it can be a little confusing to use. I imagine Insightly will be a first CRM system for many entrepreneurs/freelancers, so just be aware of that.

Having the CRM & Transaction management together is wonderful!
CRM & transaction management in one program, integrates well with gmail, ability to customize, email task reminders, mobile app
Since the new upgrades were released, they have nested information together rather than having a separate button for notes, tasks, files etc. It's cumbersome to get to Notes & they are automatically sorted oldest first so I'm always having to resort them to get to the most recent. Tasks are jumbles in with emails instead of having each separate. Frustrating!

Overall the company is very responsive to suggestions and fast with technical support. The price is better than some other larger CRM platforms out there. For a small to medium sized organization this enables you to focus on your business and not on tons of technical resources to support.
Unlike some CRM platforms that require robust training or certifications to customize to meet your business needs, Insightly is very easy to use platform. Implementation is a breeze with customer success managers who dive in to help understand your business and how the platform can be leveraged.
They are a great company to work with for your CRM and business needs.

I liked the fact that it went beyond just a CRM. Many companies need project management and something that is integrated into the CRM helps a ton.
There were some nonintuitive ways of connecting organizations and people and opportunities but overall it wasn't too difficult to learn.

Some nice features for CRM good integration with calendars
The email system is really poor with no hard integration just a forwarding system that doesn't really cut the mustard. Followed up to get a refund/cancel my subscription and they haven't offered claiming I paid but didn't select the trial option. So i got charged instantly with even having a trial which seems a very odd way to go about things in my opinion!

Features are extremely lacking. Can't print ANYTHING. Upon requesting the feature, was told to just copy and paste data into word and print from there. :( :(

We solved the problem of moving from working on an in-house built CRM combined with spreadsheets to a more dynamic, one-stop shop CRM that combines tasks and opportunities.
Key for us was the ability to tag. I looked at many CRMs and talked to sales reps as well and the tagging system in ZD for our purposes made this the best choice.
We've noticed that it does not automatically refresh notes entered which may just be a first world problem but is frustrating when working on a team. It would also be great to keep all notes in all areas, orgs, tasks, and opportunities, instead of confining the notes to the individual portal.

Value for money and affordable. Intuitive and easy to use. Free trial and then good packages for the size of organization we are.
Has all the basic CRM functionality you need in a growing startup, opportunities, contacts. Intuitive and easy to use for a CRM. Great for tracking of Sales and Business Development Pipeline.
If you want really complex things, or are a really large organization, the software becomes a little clunky to use, reporting gets a bit tricky.

Its a very basic CRM to keep track of information
The search feature is unbearable to use. There is limited capabilities for working with multilocation groups. Lead management is difficult because its hard to stay organized in insightly compared to Salesforce

The ability to access my entire CRM through my smart phone.
Mobile capability is excellent. Great value for the money. Wonderful ability to track projects and open opportunities. And produce reports.
Mobile app lags a bit. Also the interaction with the Phone application on the iPhone could function smoother. You have to push three different buttons in order to make a phone call through the application.

In general, the product is easy to learn and use. It has the potential to be great with just a few changes, but the programmers don't see the possibilities.
Great cost. Fairly powerful CRM system and reasonably intuitive to use.
Whenever you push events from your Google calendar to Insightly, the Insightly calendar makes it private with no display of time, so nobody else can see it. It just disappears for everyone else. Likewise, any event you put on Insightly marked private doesn't show on the calendar as busy. It just disappears for everyone else. So, this bug makes the calendar essentially useless for showing team member...

The CRM tool does what's required, but the UX/UI isn't intuitive to me. It happens too often that I need to click too many buttons to get done what I wanted.
Compared to other tools out there it's priced very reasonably. The graphical design (colours etc). are nice.
The User Experience/User Interface. It doesn't work as intuitive as other CRM systems I've experienced so far.

May not be as full featured as the bigger CRM's, but that's not the point. Great for use in a small business with a couple employees. It can provide a good solution to keeping all the data and info in a single place, and is pretty quick to get up and running.
- Hooks up to Zapier which means you can connect it to or have it do just about anything else - Plenty of features to get started - Easy enough to use
- Potentially cluttered or confusing for some first time CRM users - Can be convoluted in it's UX and use logic

Hubspot provides the best CRM that has a free tier out of any other options we've used. It's much less clunky than other tools like Insightly.
It's definitely geared up more towards doing inbound marketing, whereas we rely primarily on outbound to generate leads. However, there are workarounds to handle this.

The functionality covers almost every aspect of a campaign and combines all of the pieces seemlessly. I love that with a quick Google search, I can find a tip or or how-to on a function. The UI/UX is lovely and a huge step up from our previous CRM Insightly.
Sometimes certain limits or rules are hidden betweeen numerous clicks that I'd have a difficult time finding if not for Google. In addition, Design Manager is great and the support team is very helpful, but we have found limitations in the customization of blogs, emails, and landing pages.

Looking for a simple (and free CRM) to help track sales activity and report to ownership, my google search results turned up three likely solutions: Insightly, Zoho and Hubspot. I signed up for free trials of all three and just started to poke and play around in each. I was immediately blown away by Hubspot's email integration with gmail, the auto-fill of customer data from the web, and the ease of use. Within a very short period of time, it was clear to me that Hubspot was the solution for me.
We probably won't use much of the forecasting and sales performance features, so it would be nice to be able to turn those off or hide them easily.
