What is i-doit?
i-doit is the CMDB and IT documentation platform for teams that need to know exactly what runs in their IT – and how everything is connected. Instead of scattered Excel lists and wikis, you document hardware, software, networks, locations, contracts and licenses in one central, ITIL-compliant database.
The flexible data model adapts to your processes, not the other way around. The CMDB Explorer visualizes relationships between configuration items, so you can assess the impact of outages and changes in seconds. Built-in IP address management, rack views and customizable reports give you a clear overview of your infrastructure.
Auto-discovery via JDisc, imports from Excel and other tools, and integrations with LDAP/Active Directory, monitoring (Nagios, Checkmk) and service desk systems keep your data current without manual effort. An open REST API connects i-doit to your existing toolchain.
AI-ready: with the ChatCMDB add-on (MCP server), you can query, create and update CMDB data in natural language via AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Claude. AI-assisted document creation turns live CMDB data into handover forms, audit reports or emergency plans.
More than 50 add-ons extend i-doit, e.g. for cabling documentation, license management, change management and data quality analysis. For information security and compliance (ISO 27001, NIS-2, BSI IT-Grundschutz, GDPR), i-doit integrates with the i-doit GRC Suite+.
