Pros

I really had an awesome experience using this amazing software. When i started using it, my office communication and timeliness has greatly improved with time and it has been awesome.
The tech support is outstanding. I can call them and they are always helpful and very patient with a physician who may not totally understand every nuance of the program.
I loved how the application was super easy to use. The navigation part of the application, made my daily workflow easier.

Pros

The ability to choose and make templates is great, the auto populate features are helpful as well and copying and pasting into and out of charts is easy enough and saves time.
I would like to give Renzi Russell and especially Tara Carney much of the recognition they deserve for providing excellent customer service and a fantastic knowledge of their positions.
Overall experience is great this program is excellent for patent care and client dr relations.

Cons

All upgrades, additions, or troubleshooting falls back on the customer, because they assume all customers employ a full-time IT staff, and they blame any failures or problems on the customer.
Then they charged my bank account for it. When I emailed to inquire why they charged me they said they were not going to let me out of my contract early.
The lack of new features and the lack of complete integration between the EHR and the EPM, the lack of integration causes issues in development.

Cons

This review is true and result of the pain Eclinical causing our office after 2 months. Horrible, Horrible Horrible Custemor service and you can never talk to any supervisor.
If you hate your very existence on this earth then definitely use eCW for your EMR. I would rather be in prison.
It makes the overall patients experience confusing and horrible from the glitchy portal to the wrong reminders. There are so many things wrong with this product.

Excellent EHR

Pros

very user friendly with easy means to modify and even dictate into the notes. Such that I can personalize my notes and referring letters for each individual patients

Cons

The price for the system can be cheaper. Also if the system office in-office portal then they should include in the cost means for patient to access the portal (ie in office ipad)

Great System

Reviewed 7 years ago

If users are willing to use to full capabilities, this system is great! Reduce time needed for outgoing referrals, no more need for the receptionist to make patient reminder calls. ECW is geared to really work with your patients. Patient reminder calls, text when RX's are sent to the pharmacy, patient recall is great for our pediatric office. It is much easier to contact our patients that are grouped into ages for needed visits and vaccines.

Pros

ECW flows well from health management to practice management

Cons

Customer service knowledge of what a physician's office needs, is lacking

More and more problems, more and more wasted time.

Reviewed 9 years ago
Pros

If everything is working, it works fine. Able to access records from multiple locations.

Cons

On a daily basis at least one person in this 3 physician office has problems. Usually several people in the office have to restart because ECW freezes. Also, features will mysteriously stop working for a day or two, and then just as mysteriously start working again. My office manager spends time every day trying to keep ECW up and running.

Customers are NOT the number one PRIORITY

Reviewed 7 years ago

Over all the system is easy to navigate. The look and feel of the product are very pleasing. If I could have my old, local technical support back, I would highly recommend this product, but due to the past 3 years of terrible customer and technical service, I'm reluctant to refer other clinics to this product.

Pros

Integrated system. Easy to maneuver from the front office to back office features. Many new enhancements over the past 10 years. "Trying" to stay up to date with moving target of healthcare.

Cons

Technical support is lacking immensely. The techs are more concerned about closing your "help desk ticket" than really helping you solve your issues. eCW states they are a Meaningful Use Certified EHR but have left their existing customers of almost 10 years in the dust when they discovered a programming error. Now clinics will be penalized 3% in Medicare payments in 2018. Report features are lacking....

eClinical Review

Reviewed 9 years ago
Pros

Well because I work front office and back office for front office it's pretty easy to register patients and put insurance information in the system and to verify the insurance which is done by the system also for as back office the system will drop patient's vitals in the system and it also shows how long a patient has been in office starting from check in to check out. It's also easy to order certain labs that needs to be done before seeing the doctor such as glucose finger stick, pregnancy test etc and it's also is easy to put it in the system as well.

Cons

I don't like the fact that CPT codes doesn't appear in the visit note so for instance if doing a prior authorization you have to search for the code and you have to be sure to have the right one.

Wonderful! Best system out of all medical office systems I have used thus far.

Pros

This software is fundamental for any healthcare professional. simple to learn and use in any office. Whether you are a receptionist, nurse, doctor or administrator, this system is truly reliable and easy to navigate.

Cons

There is a few features that could be added on for medical professionals which would save time. However, still a very great software.

Unreliable Mobile Application

Reviewed 3 months ago

if I was in charge of purchasing software... as I was in my previous practice, I would quickly find an alternative, possibly even Epic to integrate with all of the surrounding hospitals ...I guess you get what you pay for

Pros

that it is a system not used by my main hospital

Cons

mobile app stops working for unknown reasons, support staff unable to help remotely, you must go back to the office to reset the mobile app that you're trying to use while outside of the office - staff not reponsive at all - they will "open a ticket" which is computer speak for we will ignore your complaint

Progressive EHR with lots of options

Reviewed 5 years ago

I've worked with a number of EHRs (NextGen, Practice Fusion, ARIA, Meditech, Athena) and this has overall been my favorite. Most often the complaint I heard from people was the inability to understand the support reps, but compared to other vendors, issues were resolved more quickly. A lot of the offerings are add-ons and do have a cost, but compared to other vendors, I found them significantly more reasonable and thought the product was a very good value. Overall, it worked well. We were cloud based and had very few issues with the hosting. I would definitely recommend.

Pros

Vendor is very progressive in developing new features. For example, we could pull data from home blood glucose meters or fit bits into patient visit notes if the patient linked an account through the portal. Tracking for CCM billing was easy and built into the system. Patient engagement features were great, such as automatically notifying patients that prescriptions were sent to the pharmacy, calling...

Cons

Reporting on clinical data is not good at all. It's very difficult to search the database and get accurate results on labs/medical history/diagnoses/etc. We tried RCM services early in their existence and found them very unreliable but that was a number of years ago. Updating note sections during a visit could contain a slight delay when clicking between different sections of the note, but not terrible.

Great User friendly EMR & Billing software

Great product and very user friendly.

Pros

eClinical Works is a very user friendly electronic medical record and billing software that can be a great asset for any physician office no matter what the specialty.

Cons

The only issue that I have encountered when using this electronic medical record software is that there is a standard drop down "filing" system but you can always design your own should you not want all of the folders to drop documents into.

Okay system for smaller practices

It was workable for a small office, but I would prefer spending more money on something that is more functional with large healthcare system communication and records access.

Cons

It’s not a super intuitive system, a little clunky in its navigation, and I often question how to perform certain functionalities.

I helped start up eClinicalworks at the office that I worked at. They were extremely helpful (I worked with other EHR products that were not as helpful). It was easy learning the front end and the back end. I had little trouble doing templates. I would recommend this program to everyone. Long time customer, pretty much done with eCW

Reviewed 7 years ago

I have attended about 8 eCW users conferences, including the first one in Orlando. I am a superuser. Initially, I was optimistic, but over time I have seen a lot of false promises and lack of USER -driven improvements. The whole feel of eCW is that of a clunky data gatherer. It is absolutely dreadful at the point-of-care. I didn't go to med school to be a data entry clerk. The piecemeal product now. Nickel and dime every little feature/service. When will an EHR come out that makes sense at the point of care?

Pros

Customizable - but be careful - you may have to redo everything after an upgrade. Reporting features and back office 'ok'. Portal, Healow app and eclinicalmobile are decent (though erx through mobile is wonky).

Cons

Too many clicks. Too many windows. Tiny boxes. Tiny font. Poor format. Early 2000's feel and look. Upgrades often require the user to fix data (re-map, correct NDC codes, etc. etc. etc.) which is a total pain for staff and the providers. Too many ways to achieve the same thing, just causes confusion. Internal messaging a joke.

My office wanted one system to do what it currently took two systems to do. The ease of using one system to schedule, confirm patients, send and receive messages is amazing.

Pros

I love that this system has all of the functionality that it took two of my past systems to complete.

Cons

The only thing that I am not fond of is when you create a new patient it forces me to put all of the subscriber information in. We normally don't do that when we are scheduling a new patient appointment. Although your admin can alter what information is required.

eclinical review by medical practice

Reviewed 3 years ago

I use eclinical every day. I look over patients notes, I put in authorization status in the charts, I review the testing and I use the templates to put in the testing based on the doctors notes. I also look over the schedule to see which patients will be coming in each day. It's a great platform, very robust with a lot of features and easy to jump in and start using for someone new.

Pros

Eclinical is a great software. We use it for our medical practice for visit notes, internal notes, billing, faxes and medications.

Cons

We do need to use excel spreadsheets to keep track of certain things. There is no easy way to track the authorization process. I also don't like the way telephone notes are set up, it's not arranged for the workflow of the office staff but it's great for the doctors seeing the patients and for the storing of the records. Because so many platforms are not hipaa compliant I wish Eclinical had more of a way for the office staff to collaborate, to message each other, to have more crm features. For the medical features it does a great job though

EClincal Works the good and the bad

Reviewed 7 years ago

I have worked on Eclinical Works for several years, the product is not very user-friendly and the technical support is horrible, to say the least as you have to create a ticket and wait until they call you back and the connection is terrible and the language barrier is really bad.

Pros

EClinical Works is one of the best Billing Softwares the tracking mechanisms for claims are second to none and the ability to interface with labs and other Softwares helps to make the doctor's office run a lot smoother.

Cons

The tech support is horrible and the software goes offline often and the price

eCW is a difficult program to use

Reviewed 9 years ago
Pros

The best thing about eCW is that I was able to find a billing company that understands the system.

Cons

Reports are difficult to run. You need to purchase everything extra. eCW training is not good. The language barriers are difficult. Unless you go to the annual conference, you are left in that dark; the conference is far away and long, and it's difficult to get away from office.
