We host an annual conference that moves around the county, so we set up the event, the shifts, and job descriptions and gave local partners the SignUp link to send to their volunteers. It was so turnkey and easy for everyone to understand.
You can access a free version, which had all the functionality we needed. The automatic shift reminders, the ability to let volunteers schedule themselves and the comprehensive reporting made this an ideal solution for us. It's also super simple to set up and use.
Anything I didn't like or wanted to see was available in the paid upgrade, so I really can't complain when I was getting everything for free.

convenience of having everything in one place
Using SignUp is really easy and makes organizing an event so much simpler! In the past, I had people RSVP by e-mailing me, then I created a spreadsheet of who was coming and what they were bringing, but SignUp does all that for me. No more scrolling through e-mail to make sure I didn't miss one.
None, really. I could pay for all the bells and whistles, but I don't need them. The basic service is all I need.

This might work for a consistent group of people using and learning, but if you have constant new people using it, it is far too complex.
The idea behind the software is great. Being able to have people sign up for a program from wherever they are is very helpful and cuts down on time spent for someone to have to organize and schedule.
The software is not user friendly. We were constantly bombarded with questions and complaints from people trying to sign up for a day to come in and volunteer. And because our volunteers cycle, there was no option to train them. It was always new people having trouble.

SignUp.com makes volunteer management a joy rather than a chore.
There is sometimes a lag between volunteer responses and the notices I receive. It's not a big deal, but has occasionally resulted in me getting information a bit late.

By far the easiest way to sign up for things for large group so. We use it for tours in the admissions office & it’s so easy to see what everyone is doing & who is available.
Can be difficult to maneuver at first but once you start it is great!

It fills a need in a volunteer organization, and does it well.
I've used signup.com for years (since before it changed its name) for annual or one-off events. It's fast to set up, and VERY fast for folks to participate.
The free version doesn't have a lot of useful features, like an assistant. Obviously you get lots of features when you pay. But for a free product, it is very feature rich.

Excellent experience. I am pleased with the service, product, and outcome. It's like having an administrative assistant.
The software is easy to use and it gives you options. I like that I can develop multiple volunteer assignments and shift. Volunteers can sign up for what works best with their schedules. I can manage one page that groups together community outreach, fundraising, and special events. And most importantly, it's linked to the web page so potential volunteers can see what volunteer opportunities are upcoming.
The page is busy because of the advertisements!

Easy to use, Saved me time, gives participants the ease of signing up at their convenience, allows participants to see all the time options, sends me the final list in an organize fashion.
Takes a while to enter in all the times for people to sign up. However, if you repeat the event, you can copy/paste the schedule to a different date.

I like it very much. No specific technical knowledge is needed.
Very user-friendly and customizable. It can also synchronize with the calendar and update the calendar. Reminds you of the event.
Not having any cons to me so far. Maybe adding more features for the free version. But overall it is good and has no issues.

I love Signup.com. I recruit volunteers for our University events and this makes that process easy. The interface is pleasant and intuitive. Our students response is very high. It is partly because our events are cool, but also because the SignUp makes it easy for them.
Ease of use and attractive interface that people respond well to.
We have late night programs. It's hard to schedule into the wee hours without creating a new day. A minor inconvenience.

We are always looking for ways to engage volunteers and streamline the process of communicating volunteer opportunities and logistics. SignUp.com allows us to use a free web-based solution that is easily accessible for our school's parent population, and it makes our jobs as volunteer coordinators much more simple than if we were trying to maintain offline records.
Our PTO has used SignUp.com for over two years. As a nonprofit serving a local public school, we love that it is free for all of our parents who are trying to help our students and teachers. We use it to track volunteers for all of our projects. It is easy to copy/paste recurring shifts for jobs such as Media Center volunteers but we can also customize the shifts for specific days or alternate schedules....
The mobile version of SignUp.com does not display the details very conveniently for users. For Book Fairs, we list the classes that are coming during each volunteer shift, and we often hear from volunteers who ask us when their child's class is coming because they cannot see the details for the shifts. It seems to require a lot of clicking/navigating to access the specific shift details on the mobile version.

I love SignUp.com! I coordinate volunteers of our local animal welfare agency and low-cost spay/neuter clinic to work our tent at the county fair. With 128 volunteer hours to fill, I know from experience that trying to fill all the slots is a nightmare without you guys. Thank you! You help me keep my sanity during the 9 days of our fair.
It was easy to upload volunteers from my contact list. Reminders are sent out automatically so I don't have to do it. I can see who is reading the emails I send. The messages sent using SignUp.com look much better than just sending a plain email. I am able to use sign-ups from previous years' events so I don't have to reinvent the wheel. Just update with the current calendar.
If I haven't used SignUp.com in a while, it takes me a few minutes to remember how to maneuver the program but once I get back into the rhythm of it, I'm good to go.

I've had a very positive experience with signup.com and I would recommend it to other people. The free version is definitely worth using and provides and affordable scheduling tool for a small organization.
This software allows users to set up schedules for people for any kind of projects that they want. My organization has used it organize young volunteers to assist us in events. They volunteers are given a link to the sign up site, which makes sure the only ones given the ability to sign up are volunteers we've chosen or that other volunteers have deemed qualified. The amount of control I have but the allowance for volunteer autonomy is very useful. It was saved me a huge amount of time scheduling.
I found it difficult to enter the scheduling I wanted too when the same event was occurring at different times. I think the user interface calendar needs to be more user friendly and less clunky.

I used this in my classroom mainly for parent teacher conferences. Once I had to be gone for a week from students so I was unable to send out regular paper notes. This is when I found Sign Up. I was able to send my parent conference notification and sign up list electronically. Within the week most parents had already signed up and I was ready for conferences though I had been away!
I loved this software because it allowed parents in my classroom to sign up for parent conferences, party items, and just overall information regarding special events in my classroom. Parents signed up for a time slot or an item to bring so that another parent would not sign up for the same item/time. It was so easy--no notes to send home, no reminders that had to be printed. Sign up even emailed the parents when their conference/item was due!! So easy!
It was a little difficult to figure out at first. It notified me that the invitation had been sent, but it did not always let me know when a parent signed up. Sometimes, I checked it periodically to make sure parents were signing up. Perhaps I was doing something wrong.

I’ve used SignUp to organize the appointments for my PTCs. I felt that it made everything run smoothly and that it took so much off my shoulders. I like the updates it sends to me as well as the reminders to the parents. It made a very tedious job run much more smoothly. Thank you!
The ease of individuals signing up for an appointment time that worked well for them.
I had trouble with managing the slots when a parent emailed me about a needed change. I’m sure it’s possible, I just didn’t see how to do it easily.

My overall experience has been good, however I think there are many ways this website could function better.
I like that it is simple enough to understand quickly.
There is no way to go in and edit a shift on the volunteer calendar. If I need to switch someone's shift, I have to delete their shift and then add them back in. It is also complicated to not allow someone to edit their shifts on the calendar. I had to go through several different steps before I figured it out. I also wish there was a way look up a volunteers shifts by searching their name.

I've used SignUp.com for various volunteer activities for my children's school. It was user friendly, appealing to the eye, and provided good reminders to volunteers before their time slot.
I love being able to create sign ups so quickly and easily. Being able to sync with calendars is a very helpful tool.
When I was using it regularly, I felt it was a little time consuming to choose the correct background photo/wallpaper.

I've used this website for about three years, and it has been an efficient, well-organized website for me to use when scheduling parent/teacher sign-ups.
SignUp.com made it fairly easy for me to create parent sign-ups and check on the status of their sign-ups.
Not being tech savvy, I did have to ask my younger colleagues how to complete a few of the steps.

The product is easy to setup and our volunteers find it simple to use. We have been using this service for 3 years and have found it to be a BIG time saver. We shotgun out an email through sign-up.com to all of our registered volunteers. They can go the the sign-up area and choose which shifts they wish to volunteers. We have an active record of our volunteers spots that are filled and the volunteer receives a reminder email a few days before their volunteer shift. The biggest benefit is that I can clone previous events where we typically have the same need for volunteers. Simply change the dates for the event and all of the open shifts are automatically placed into the cloned event. WOW! Love this service!
The best thing about this product is that it is SO easy to use and setup. Our volunteers enjoy the ease of online sign-ups and the helpful reminders when their shift is near.
I love everything about the service. I have nothing negative to share.

Parent conferences had the highest attendance since I've been in the Middle School. Saved me a ton of time.
There are so many pros to this site, I probably will not be able to remember them all. Here are just a few: It gives parents more incentives to come to conferences as they can choose & change their times to their convenience. It uses modern ways of communication so that more parents are apt to use it as there is no pressure and it takes only a few seconds to sign up. It's basic version is free...

SignUp.com has eased the process that I used to manage large events needing many volunteers doing different jobs with Excel spreadsheets... volunteers changing shifts, emailing me with every change or question. It was so time consuming. Now I can send out all the openings, with details on each shift and people can make their own selections and changes if they want. I am more efficient and able to reach more people with the sign-up link. I can post the signup link in lots of places and everyone can access it. It is just terrific.
It is easy to use and allows me to add volunteer jobs, add shifts along with writing separate descriptions. It is easy to add to, easy to make changes, run reports and sends reminders to participants along with emails to me about changes and final names for the event. It is great.
When I receive the emails, there are ads on the letters. But I understand that it is necessary, especially as it is free to us! As a non-profit with $0 budget for this, I am grateful for this tool.

We have been very pleased with signup.com and it has saved us time and money not having to utilize staff on the phone or using the mail.
We do two major fundraisers and a number of concert and other events during the year that we use volunteers for. We started using signup.com about 3 or 4 years ago and it has worked very well for our needs. It keeps our volunteer information in one place and is flexible enough for us to use for various types of events. The set up is easy and once your volunteer's information is in the system it is easy to send out invitations and confirmations for volunteering opportunites.
It had a small learning curve, but once you have set up an event and figured out the process it works easily.

I spent less time setting up appointments. I have a record of the schedule.
This program is such a great time saver. As a teacher, I have so much grading and planning to do for my students and setting up the conferences used to take so much time away from these essentials. Now, I can schedule conferences without the back and forth communications that used to be the norm with the traditional paper scheduling. Now participants can switch spots without having to contact me. I really like the updates about who has signed up so I can email parents the link again when they have not yet set up their appointment for a conference. Therefore, this program has been a great convenience and I won't go back to paper schedules.
Each slot has to be individually set up rather than being able to put in a timeframe with a start and end time that self populates the time slots.

From beginning to end, the assistance I received from the company was a tremendous help and made it quite simple to achieve a successful outcome! Even the billing is quick, easy and flexible!
The online assistance was phenomenal, they answered all my questions quickly and in full. They also allowed me to set up a 1on1 with a trainer on how best to utilize the program. The autonomy of the individuals was a huge plus as well as the ability to customize the verbiage for both signing up as well as theyconfirmation email the individuals received was an added bonus!
None of the features were truly difficult although the initial understanding of exactly what the program was capable of required a meeting with and assistance from one of the trainers. But that was also very quick and simple as once I provided all the info, they set the rest of it up from their end and was so fast and easy!

Sign Up allows people to easily sign up for regular volunteer spots or special event spots. The set up is nice and easy to lay out the positions we have available. We can easily link it to our web and emails so people can click and they are there.
Some of our team administrators struggle with things like setting up events and such. This could be a little more user-friendly on the admin side.
