Pros

Very user friendly has great features i use it daily and its easy to clock in and out and has all my important info stored.
I love the onboarding and sales process. Every person I talk with at Zenefits is pleasant and understanding.
Zenefits is home to all of my benefit information from health insurance to taxes. It is so easy to make changes to benefits or keep track of my vacation time.

Pros

The enrollment process is simple and their customer service is great as well. The extra benefits through ADP (things like cell discounts and discounted movie tickets) are also great.
ADPTS is a good solution for a small organization with minimal HR capacity, our HR partner on the ADP side, Tarena, was AMAZING and the interface itself was fairly easy to manage on the admin side.
The software is very easy to use BUT the service and customer support that assist our account is SUPERB.

Cons

The CSR sends the info to the tax team and I was told it takes over a month to process the missing 941. IN the meanwhile, I am getting nasty notices from IRS and am likely to have to pay penalties.
Mistakes are always made, but Zenefits tries to rectify and solve problems instead of throwing their hands up and saying it's too hard.
As a user, I kept thinking what am I doing wrong, sat on hold for 3+ hours waiting for a rep, figured out a workaround only to find out it was a system issue.

Cons

They outright refuse to provide information on pricing, so it is very difficult to compare to other similar products or keeping in house. Other PEOs are up front about what you are paying for.
Trying to see accrued time for vacations is a little difficult and sometimes will display an odd number.
It can be a little difficult for employees to navigate at first. There are multiple steps.

This will be the second time leaving them for an archaic system like ADP - its sad and I hope that ADP just buys them bc the service is just better

Pros

What a great tool and they say all the right things...

Cons

it doesn't work half the time and the other half support is just awful at responding. as soon as you email them the automatic email that comes back tells you they are busy so... They won't submit your taxes even though they say they will and they defiantly don't have a system that works well. Another Great Idea poorly executed, a few years ago I had to get rid of them because, get this, they were not even licensed to manage insurance and they basically messed everything up for us.

Zenefits is great for start-ups that are looking to grow. Easy to use and employees have the ability to view personal information along with benefits, compensation, it interfaces with Expensify, Lever, and many more apps. Easy to make changes to employees profile, makes everything paperless when it comes to managing employee information. Reports are great, you can create your own or use the ones they provide. They offer the ability to manage not only benefits but corporate liability insurance, FSA and commuter benefits. Payroll syncs easily if you use one of their partners or use Zenefits own payroll service. If your company is on a budget this is the way to go as you have insight into everything! Do away with PEO's as they are costly!

Pros

Easy to use and syncs with many apps out there. ADP workforce, Lever, Slack, Expensify and many more.

Cons

Sometimes hard to figure out where stuff is in each of the sections from and administrator point.

The perfect benefits platform for a smaller startup

I've enjoyed using Zenefits to view benefits, time off requests and commuter benefits. It's wonderful that all of that can be used in one site.

Pros

I like the customization that users can implement to match the size of the clientele, the specific issues the company runs into, and how Zenefits is accessible to users who no longer work with a company.

Cons

I don't like how Zenefits doesn't have a comprehensive payroll feature on the level that ADP can provide.

Zenefits is a great tool for employees. It helps to keep all my valuable salary and benefits information in one place.

Cons

So far, I have not ran into any issues with Zenefits. I really like this platform, especially compared to ADP.

I really like the hiring, background checks, and HR benefits integration. These features simplify our work, give us a professional appearance, and provide great benefits to our customers.

Cons

Zenefits needs an integration with ADP. It also needs more performance management capabilities. I also worry about all the management changes in the company.

Time saving for all HR needs

Pros

On-boarding is streamlined. Time off function is amazing and I love that when you offboard it tells you the amount you need to pay off to your employee. Like how easy it is to do things in bulk, for example, send updated Employee Handbooks or Request Background Checks. Benefit renewal is super easy and streamlined.

Cons

No integration with ADP Payroll. No way to bulk upload existing employees as hires. No way to share HR tools with other team members.

Implementation Nightmare

I really had hoped this would have been a positive change from ADP but its really just training one set of issues for another.

Pros

Zenefits has a lot to offer and a very easy to use cloud platform. The product itself is fantastic however it is poorly executed which has caused enormous headaches.

Cons

Implementation Manager has an automated email that goes out every single time letting you know it will take him 24 or more hours to get back to you Our payroll implementation was significantly messed up by their team and resulted in our employees being paid incorrectly and not through direct deposit Their approval and processing timeline for payroll is moved up way sooner than other platforms which leaves HR very little time to review and fix timecards. They still have not gotten back to us on how they plan to reimburse our employees for the incorrect pay (due to them setting tax allowances incorrectly when importing our data from ADP)

Very strong HRIS platform, but requiring BoR status (even with latest shift, Z'fits is dictating the BoR) is frustrating.

Pros

Functionality of each module, from org charts to benefit review is outstanding. We particularly like the automated onboarding with e-signature capability.

Cons

The benefit-related customer service is lacking due to Zenefits really being a product company as opposed to a benefit broker. Also wish that the payroll integration with ADP was tighter.

Pros

Zenefits is suitable for a smaller companies HR. It is basic and navigation is fairly easy.

Cons

Zenefits does not provide good customer service. Historical data is not stored in the portal. We have a one way feed from Zenefits to ADP, however the information comes over incorrectly.

It's a free( most of the time ) platform.

Pros

The platform it's easy to use. It was also easy to implement. It communincates smoothly with the payroll provider(ADP) through API. As long as the product is free to use - I would use it.

Cons

Modifying templates could be a little bit trciky. The health insurance part is done through another company One Digital. They do their thing to get you enrolled but the input from them after that is minimal.

makes getting health insurance easy to get for a group

Pros

Zenefits as a Healthcare solution works really well. setting it up for people in the work place cuts down time and the pain of getting information from an employee. This service is offered to the consumer free.

Cons

The other portals zenfits offer are not really price effective. I use Zoho for people tracking which is much better priced. Even ADP would have been more cost effective than zenefits for payroll

Easy to use and nice to look at!

We have a small company (50-100 people) and I think Zenefits is perfect for this company. It's more "boutique" and feels like more personable than an ADP or bigger Benefits/HR software. I would recommend it to others.

Pros

It's easy to navigate and I like the look of it. The insurance set-up is VERY easy to use and always quick.

Cons

There is only one con -- the "Time off" doesn't sort by the type of time-off you have taken (sick, vacation, work from home days). So when it says "time off taken this year," that could mean sick and WFH days. It doesn't show you your true vacation hours, year to date.

Pros

Zenefits was a lifesaver for our growing firm. Our firm was initially looking for a way to better manager PTO requests, but as we learned more about the product offerings, we took full advantage of making Zenefits the cornerstone of our HR infrastructure. Besides PTO tracking, the most useful/time saving features are onboarding new employees and open enrollment. With the functionality Zenefits provides, these previously time consuming and scattered tasks have become easy, accurate, and seamless. Having Zenefits available as a tool has enabled our Firm to offer employees a fully transparent HR tool that can assist them in managing their HR needs.

Cons

The inability to integrate information with our payroll provider - ADP Run. When Zenefits was launched at our firm, the integration was available and very useful. While not a deal-breaker, not having that integration is a bit of a pain.

Free-mium Zenefits is a functional HR system, but not ideal

Pros

This solution is cost effective and allows HR to have employee files, track PTO, push policy acknowledgements, etc. This is a very basic HR solution with minimal cost.

Cons

There is little to no customer support, you will work with several individuals to resolve a single issue. High turnover in account managers or points of contact at Zenefits. The system has issues on both the HR user side and the employee side in terms of functionality. Reports and custom reports are hard to pull. Policies often lose their format when uploaded with a 72 hour upload time. Zenefits does not communicate with ADP. You cannot re-activate old hires or profiles in the system (interns, seasonal workers, etc). This has been a cost effective solution for us, but there have been may issues above.

Easy to use HR Platform

Overall, I've enjoyed using Zenefits as both an employee and a manager. I enjoy the easy access to documents, overall design, and helpful Support team.

Pros

I've used Zenefits for almost 4 years now, and I've always enjoyed its ease of use and UI, compared with other HR portals I've used in the past (like ADP). As an employee, it's always easy for me to request time off, view other employees in the organization, view/manage benefits, file HSA claims, and more. When I started my job, I remember how easy the onboarding process was with digital signatures on documents and other important forms. I'm now a manager and enjoy the interface for each of my direct reports. As a visual person, I also enjoy the simple design and color scheme. Reaching out to the Support team is also easy - via email and requesting a call. Support agents have been helpful and friendly.

Cons

It's a bit vague about who I should contact with issues regarding my account, in the Help portal. I never know if I should I contact my HR Manager or Zenefits support directly? For example, my Zenefits HSA no longer works. I can't find info the Knowledge Base on how to get a replacement card. This will lead me to submit a support ticket, but I wish I could find the answer easier in the app. I also think an account walk-through would be nice for new users.

Software is horrible and the service matches.

Pros

I can't say honesty that there is one feature that I like. We came from Zenefits to take advantage of their PEO service, and it has been a constant nightmare from the start.

Cons

The ENTIRE system needs an overhaul. The technology is something you would see in the 90's. The UI is extremely difficult to navigate, links disappear, and the employees absolutely hate it.
